With the catchy tagline “Don’t want anyone like you… I want only you,” Rubab isn’t just a love story—it’s the tale of today’s youth who live on their own terms, uphold their self-respect, and stand firm for love. The trailer showcases a swagger-filled hero with panache, his dream girl, and their sweet, tender, yet boldly unapologetic romance. But standing in the way of this love are society, family, and formidable obstacles! Will this bond, born from the confluence of love, struggle, and pride, triumph—or bow to societal pressure? The answer awaits audiences in theaters. Meanwhile, the trailer’s romantic chemistry, punchy dialogues, stylish presentation, powerful background score, and high-energy visuals have made it a hot topic on social media.

Nagraj Manjule, wishing the team well, said, “Shekhar is a very good friend of mine, and his direction is outstanding. Just from the trailer, it’s clear that the story is something different. The pairing of Sambhaji and Shital looks as majestic as the film’s title. The shoot has been executed beautifully and grandly, with impeccable music. Their on-screen chemistry is incredibly effective. Watching the trailer builds excitement to see the film. I extend my best wishes to Shekhar and the entire team. I hope this film will definitely resonate with audiences.”

Director Shekhar Bapu Rankhamb said, “This story struck me back in 2018, and now it’s finally reaching audiences. Rubab portrays the journey of youth who firmly hold onto their identity. Today’s generation loves boldly, clearly, and with self-respect. That’s the swagger Rubab brings to the screen. It’s a story of standing up for love, living by your principles, and expressing emotions fearlessly. I’m confident audiences will love this love’s grandeur.”

Zee Studios’ Business Head Bavesh Janvalekar shared, “Zee Studios always believes in giving opportunities to new directors, and Shekhar is a perfect example of that trust. A talented director like him is delivering an excellent creation for audiences. People want not just entertainment, but stories that connect with them—where love, dreams, and self-respect intertwine. I realized from Shekhar that a script can be told without paper. This swagger-filled love story will touch the youth’s emotions, showcasing their energy and determination powerfully on the big screen. Rubab will surely win hearts.”

Producer Sanjay Zhankar said, “When Rubab’s story came to me, it felt incredibly honest and alive. We wanted to present it in a more commercial, urban, and grand form for today’s audiences. We gave the story a modern touch to make it attractive and vibrant. Bringing this glimpse—the trailer—to audiences today feels especially joyful. Rubab doesn’t just preach; it delivers explosive entertainment. I’m sure audiences will love it.”

Presented by Zee Studios and produced by Zhankar Films, Rubab is written and directed by Shekhar Bapu Rankhamb. Producers are Sanjay Zhankar and Gauri Zhankar, with Umesh Kumar Bansal and Bavesh Janvalekar presenting the film.
