For Sahil, the Loot Kaand script was impossible to put down. Recalling how he was completely hooked from the word go, he shared, “When I first got the script, I was given the first three episodes, and later, the rest. It rarely happens that you’re so hooked to the script at the writing stage itself. That’s the mark of a great thriller. I knew from that moment that the audience would also be able to feel the emotion that I felt while reading the script.”

Reuniting with Tanya Maniktala, whom he has known since his college days, was another highlight for Sahil. Sharing his experience working with her and the entire cast, he added, “Tanya and I were in college together. We’ve known each other for seven to eight years now. It was a pleasure to work with her and such talented artists like Gyani Bhai, Aakash, Nitin, Shawnda ji, Ruma ji, Bridge sir, Prashant sir, and Manvendra ji. I learned a lot from all of them. But the real credit goes to the people behind the camera – our director Ruchir, producers Raghav and Prithvish, and the entire crew. Even when we know the other person is right, admitting it is just not an option. But, despite the constant clashes, there’s also an unspoken bond. Siblings are each other’s biggest critics but also their strongest supporters. That dynamic is something Latika and Palash embody beautifully. While reading the script, Sahil and I found ourselves relating to their interactions because both of us have siblings. That sense of familiarity and authenticity made their love-hate relationship feel raw and real.”

Speaking about the challenges of playing Latika, Tanya added, “Physically, there were quite a few demanding scenes. But one of the most mentally exhausting moments was when Latika has a confrontation that forces her to question everything her choices, her intentions and even her own conscience. It was emotionally intense because so much of what she was going through couldn’t be expressed in obvious ways. Just being in that headspace was deeply challenging, but also incredibly rewarding as an actor.”

Reflecting on her role and the connection she felt with the character of Poonam, Nikita shared, “I think it’s great. You know, I am actually Punjabi, and the funny thing is I’m not very fluent when it comes to speaking in Punjabi. My relatives and my extended family they call me a ‘Farzi Pujabi’ because I have not really spent too much time living over there. So, for me to play this Punjabi kudi was like going back to my roots; in my head I used to always think about how my relatives would talk or how people in my village behaved. I feel like that was a reference I constantly had in my head, more than anything.”

Speaking further about her experience on the show, Nikita revealed how portraying Poonam allowed her to reconnect with her roots and rediscover a part of her heritage. “It is one of those things that you always long to because you have seen people around you dress up this way and talk this way I feel like through the show I have gotten to do that, and of course they had to work a lot in my Punjabi dialect. A lot of times their used to be an English touch that would come, but ya, I have really enjoyed it.” She noted that despite her relatives teasing her about being a “farzi Punjabi” in the role, it helped her reconnect with the cultural aspects she had not fully embraced before.

Further sharing about her preparations for the role she shares, “For Punjabi accent, we had a dialect coach he used to make me sing songs in Punjabi. He used to make me scream and yell out numbers. There’s something known as ‘Punjabi Tappe’, which is like folk songs, so we used to basically jam on that to get some clarity.”
