“We were sure about the success of Samantar-2 as it is a perfect combination of everything. I am overwhelmed with the response the series has received in its second season as well. I am happy that the new experiments I have been doing in my career are working and people are giving it a thumbs up. The credit of this success must goto producers Arjun and Kartk along with the director Sameer Vidwansfor the efforts they have put in both creatively as well as ensuring the quality of the shoot.” said Swapnil Joshi who has been playing the lead character of Kumar Mahajan.

Swapnil also narrated how the entire team of actors and crew members were stuck in a hotel during the shooting of Samantar-1 due to the flooding. “Kolhapur, Sangli had witnessed downpour and flooding in August 2019 when we were shooting for Samantar-1. The downpour was so massive that the entire team was stuck for 13 days in a row in a hotel in Kolhapur, however Arjun, Kartik and the team ensured that we were all taken care of very well. Those were some of the most un-forgetful days and it still gives us goosebumps whenever the team members remember it during our shooting,” he said.

Speaking to us on Samatar-2, Arjun and Kartk said “Samantar is a fabulous story which we knew would appeal to a very large audience. We are extremely happy with the response that Samantar-2 has got and we intend to produce many more such series based on a variety of subjects and genres”.

The producers further elaborated on their decision over casting Swapnil Joshi and Nitish Bhardwaj against each other. “Both of them are widely recognised a Krishna’s across the world for their memorable roles in two different serials. Samantar gives an opportunity to the audience to see both the stalwarts face to face. Similarly, when we chose Sai Tamhankar for the role of Sundara and Meera we were suggested many names for this character, however we were determined to have her for the role as we firmly believed that only she could justify the character of Sundara,” Arjun and Kartik said.

After an outstanding success and record-breaking 200 million hits by viewers to its first season, Samantar-2, the second season of the Marathi web series has hit the screen with many added attractions. Superstars from the film industry Nitish Bhardwaj, Swapnil Joshi, Tejaswini Pandit, Sai Tamhankar are featured in the series based on the popular Marathi novel with the same name by noted author Suhas Shirwalkar. Samantar-2 is getting an overwhelming response on MX Player.

Sameer Vidwans, the director of the web series Samantar-2 has said that the challenges before him while directing it were multi-pronged as it was his first web series and to cope with the pandemic related difficulties was a task before him. The director has proudly said that he was happy that he could face them successfully with the help of his stars, co-crew members, and the freedom given by the producers Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar of GSEAMS (Global Sports Entertainment and Media Solutions Private Limited).

Swwapnil  Joshi and Tejaswini Pandit play key roles in the series which is a debut on web arena for both of them. The series is based on Suhas Shirwalkar’s novel with the same name. Similarly for the well-known director Satish Rajwade of this show, it is the first web series after directing a host of successful Marathi films, plays and TV serials. Swwapnil Joshi said, “Samantar, written by Suhas Shirwalkar, is one of my favourite novels. I had played a key role in the film Duniyadari based on Shirwalkar’s book a few years ago. He is a mightier writer and the Samantar deserves to prove a very good visual content. I am happy that I am part of the Samantar and having got the opportunity to be associated with Shirwalkar’s name and work for the second time after Duniyadari. I am thankful to Mrs Shirwalkar and their entire family that they allowed us – me, Satish Rajwade and GSEAMS – to go ahead with the project and showed confidence in us to shoulder this responsibility.”

Swwapnil Joshi further added, “Satish is fascinated by the book and is an able director for the project. This is one more project in which Satish and I are coming together. GSEAMS has played a key role in producing the web series based on a fantastic story. Star cast and crew members have taken pains to produce a very qualitative series. I am playing a character called Kumar, which is very different from other characters I played so far. It was a challenge for me as an actor. I am sure the audience will like this series very much.
