The story revolves around Sunny (#VarunDhawan), who is all set to propose to his girlfriend Ananya (#SanyaMalhotra). However, Ananya breaks up with him because her parents want her to marry Vikram (#RohitSaraf), a wealthy suitor. Vikram, in turn, walks away from his 12-year-long relationship with Tulsi (#JanhviKapoor) since his parents disapprove of her as their daughter-in-law. Heartbroken, Sunny and Tulsi join forces to gatecrash Vikram and Ananya’s wedding in an attempt to stop it. What follows forms the crux of the story.

The narrative and screenplay often defy logic, with reason seemingly drowned somewhere in the lakes of Udaipur but the director has used flasbacks effectively. While a few witty one-liners land well, the film could have used more of them. The production values are lavish, giving the film a glossy appeal, and the cinematography is excellent. However, tighter editing could have made the film crisper and more impactful. The first half is engaging, but the second half gets tangled in too many subplots, diluting the impact.

Varun Dhawan delivers a delightful performance, infusing energy into his scenes with his impeccable comic timing, witty one-liners, and shayari. Janhvi Kapoor looks stunning and sensuous while offering a nuanced performance. Sanya Malhotra shines despite having a half-baked role, and Rohit Saraf lends solid support while also looking charming on screen. Maniesh Paul entertains with his sharp wisecracks, while the rest of the cast also performs well.

Overall, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a glossy rom-com with its share of highs and lows. It’s a reasonably entertaining one-time watch.

From energetic beats to soulful melodies, this album offers a complete musical journey that’s already winning hearts and topping charts. Adding to the buzz, the official music video for Tumse Behtar—a heartfelt love ballad featuring Arijit Singh’s enchanting vocals and Tanishk Bagchi’s soulful composition and written by #ManojMuntashir, has been released. The song goes beyond being just a romantic ballad. It takes listeners on an emotional journey, reflecting the pain of heartbreak and the pulse of the film itself, exploring love’s beauty, vulnerability, and complexity. This track shines not only through its poignant lyrics and soulful vocals but also through its deep connection to the film’s narrative, making it a defining moment of the soundtrack.

The album of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a powerhouse, from the reimagined Bijuria and celebration anthem Panwadi to the chartbuster PERFECT, romantic Tu Hai Meri, soulful Tumse Behtar, and vibrant tracks like Ishq Manzoor and Sunny Sunny Boy. It’s a mood, a vibe, and a story – blending energy with emotion to create one of the most versatile soundtracks of the year.

Varun Dhawan shares, “Music is the soul of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. From the high-energy beats of Bijuria to the heartbreak of Tumse Behtar, each track reflects our story. Personally, it’s very tough for me to choose a favourite because every song fits so well with different phases, and I am very happy to see the love that the audience has been giving to all the songs we have released.”

Janhvi Kapoor says, “The music of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is the film’s emotional spine. From Bijuria and Panwadi to Tu Hai Meri, Tumse Behtar, and Perfect, every song brings the story to life- powerful, poignant, and unforgettable.”

Rohit Saraf said, “The entire album is a vibe. Bijuria and Panwadi will instantly lift your mood and make you want to dance, while Tu Hai Meri and Tumse Behtar will resonate with anyone who has ever felt the ache of love – these are songs you’ll keep going back to. The entire album is a journey through every emotion you can imagine. I think that’s what makes it so special”

Sanya Malhotra added, ‘This album takes you on a full ride of emotions – some songs make you dance; others make you smile, and then Tumse Behtar makes you pause and feel. Each track feels like it’s telling its own story while still belonging to the same world. I think fans will have these songs on repeat for a long time.

Director #ShashankKhaitan summed it up by saying, “For me, music is never just background – it’s an emotion that elevates the story. When we set out to make this film, I wanted the music to reflect everything that the story is about – love, celebration, family, drama and all hearts. Working with such incredible artists and seeing this album come alive has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey. I can’t wait for the audience to experience the film’s world through its music.”

Tanishk Bagchi added, “Working with the SSTK team on this film has been an amazing experience. Composing Sunny Sunny Boy, Bijuria, and Tumse Behtar was a creative journey—each track has its own identity and distinct vibe. I’m honestly overwhelmed by the incredible response to Bijuria. With Tumse Behtar, I wanted to craft something that truly stands the test of time. It was an absolute pleasure collaborating with Manoj Muntashir, whose beautiful lyrics gave the song its emotional heartbeat. Having Arijit Singh lend his voice to it was the perfect touch, he brought so much depth and soul to the track, and I couldn’t have imagined it any other way.”

Lyricist Manoj Muntashir said “Some songs come from the mind, Tumse Behtar came straight from the heart. These lyrics are born from a place where love isn’t perfect, but it’s deeply honest. I believe everyone has someone they silently compare the world to — this song is for that someone.”

Performing it was magical, and I can’t wait to see audiences connect to that same emotion.”

Talking about Tu Hai Meri, Sachet Tandon shared, “Tu Hai Meri is very close to our hearts. It’s not just a song, it’s an emotion. When we sat down to compose it, we wanted to capture the feeling of being so deeply in love that the world fades away. Parampara Tandon added, “Love songs live forever, and we wanted Tu Hai Meri to have that timeless quality. We’ve poured all our emotions into it – every note, every pause, every word is meant to take you on a journey of love. Khaitan praised Janhvi’s hidden comic side, noting how audiences will be pleasantly surprised by her commercial appeal and natural timing. He said, “I worked with Janhvi Kapoor for, first time in her debut film Dhadak, and after so many years, we got a chance to work in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. She had a lot of experience, and also this genre is something which she has not done before, and when people see the film, they will realise the comic side she has, the commercial appeal, and it takes time to come out. I was really impressed by that. We have rehearsed a lot. This is Shashank Khaitan’s statement for Janhvi Kapoor.”

The new version of Bijuria has been reimagined and composed and produced by Tanishk Bagchi, with additional lyrics also penned by him. The original song was composed by Ravi Pawar, with lyrics written by the maestros Sonu Nigam and Ajay Jhingran. The track is sung by the iconic Sonu Nigam, and adding a modern twist is Asees Kaur, whose vocals bring in freshness, sass, and an irresistible groove. With electrifying choreography, state-of-the-art visuals, and a pulsating new arrangement, “Bijuria” is ready to make waves across the globe.

The music video showcases Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor turning up the heat with their sizzling chemistry and infectious energy, delivering a visual spectacle that’s as glamorous as it is high voltage. From their catchy hookstep to the dazzling aesthetics, every frame bursts with festive vibrance and cinematic flair. The dynamic visuals, paired with the track’s pulsating rhythm, position “Bijuria” as the perfect curtain-raiser to what promises to be a larger-than-life cinematic experience.

Singer #SonuNigam said “‘Bijuria’ is one of those songs that has lived many lives. When we first recorded it, I had no idea it would be so loved and would last so long, evergreen, as if eternal . Revisiting it now decades later, feels like a full-circle moment. I’m humbled that the original vocals still resonate enough to be part of this reimagined version. Tanishk has infused it with an electrifying new sound, and Asees has added her own flavor that elevates the track. Varun and Janhvi have made the track special with their amazing dance moves. Bijuria for me is nostalgic, it’s fresh, and it’s made to make people dance all over again.”

Sharing his excitement, Varun Dhawan said, “When I first heard this new version of Bijuria, nostalgia hit hard and I knew it was something special. There’s a connection and a vibe we’ve all grown up listening and dancing to, but this version has a fresh, crazy energy that matches the madness of our film and makes you want to get up and dance. Shooting this with Janhvi and getting the OG Sonu Nigam sir singing the track was a fun experience, the hookstep, beats and the vibe has been stuck in my head ever since. I hope this song plays at every party in the coming festive season.”

Talking about the song, Janhvi Kapoor added, “Bijuria has always been one of those tracks that makes you want to get up and dance, and bringing it back in this film has been such a fun experience. The new version is a perfect mix that has the old charm with a new freshness that makes it impossible not to groove. Shooting with Varun and the team was an absolute blast. I think this is going to be one of those tracks that people will hold close to their hearts and also dance their hearts out to.”

Composer Tanishk Bagchi “Reimagining a song like ‘Bijuria’ comes with a huge sense of responsibility. You don’t just remix, you reinterpret. The goal was to keep the essence of what made the original so iconic, while giving it the kind of edge and tempo that today’s audiences expect. Having Sonu Nigam’s voice in the track gave it authenticity and soul, and Asees brought a fierce, playful energy that gave the song a brand-new identity. It’s both a tribute and a celebration, and hopefully something that bridges generations.”

Singer Asees Kaur said: “Singing ‘Bijuria’ alongside Sonu Nigam sir is truly special — it’s a song I grew up loving. I wanted to bring my own bold and playful energy to it while staying true to its iconic vibe. Tanishk gave it a fresh, fiery sound, and I’m thrilled to be part of this powerful reimagining that bridges nostalgia with now.”

Get ready to lose yourself in the beats of Bijuria as it sets the tone for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari as not just the rom-com of the year but also a musical blockbuster in the making. Recalling the journey, Akshay shared an emotional anecdote, “I remember back in 2014, during the promotions of my film Pizza, I happened to see the trailer of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania for the very first time. I was instantly struck by its scale, freshness, and the visual appeal Shashank Khaitan brought to the screen. Sitting there, I made a silent wish that someday I would get the chance to work with him. At the time, it felt like a far-off dream, but I held on to that thought. And here we are, ten years later, and that wish is finally becoming a reality with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Working under Shashank’s direction and being part of a Dharma Productions film with such a talented ensemble cast feels both surreal and gratifying. It reminds me that sometimes the universe listens to the smallest, quietest dreams we nurture, and rewards us when the time is right.”
