Of late a lot of male actors are flaunting facial hair on-screen. Be it for showing dominance, or being authoritative, or just looking good on-screen, these actors have brought back the trend of moustaches and beards, and they all agree that it makes them look more manly on the telly. So here’s what a few actors, who are sporting moustaches and beards on the reel, have to say about facial hair, read on…

Sudhanshu Pandey, who plays Vanraj Shah in “Anupamaa”: For me, moustache and beard signify one’s identity. It’s a very personal choice to have a moustache and a beard or both and sometimes you keep it just so that you look like a man. But I think it has nothing to do with manliness, if your heart is strong then nothing else matters. They do represent dominance and aggression but only on-screen because invariably this happens that if you want to show a man who is aggressive or villainous, they give him a moustache or a beard to make him look a little more dominant. But in real life, I don’t think it’s that. Aggression and dominance are part of one’s nature, beard, or no beard. I completely agree that not everyone can carry a moustache or a beard because it has to suit your style, it has to suit your face, it has to suit your personality. So it’s very important that if you keep a moustache or a beard then it has to compliment your personality, your physicality only then one should keep it. Personally, in terms of convenience, I prefer being clean-shaven because keeping a beard and a moustache is a task to maintain. The character of Vanraj has been given a moustache because I think they wanted me to look older than my age as that is the character that I am playing, I have grown up boys in the show, so if I don’t keep a moustache we will probably look like brothers. So that was the channel’s creative call and I think it worked well.

Sharad Malhotra, seen as Veeranshu Singhania in “Naagin 5”: Facial hair makes you look very manly, it makes you look very macho, it adds a lot of intensity to your personality. It gives you a certain amount of weight. I am not taking away the fact that clean-shaven people are not taken seriously, it’s not that, because I have been clean-shaven for the maximum part of my life and people have taken me very seriously and have loved it. But now it’s just that people are getting to see a very different side of mine with the facial hair. It was demanding for the character as well and people somewhere connected and they related, off-screen also people have accepted and appreciated my bearded look. So by the grace of God, things just fell into place and I am personally loving the look now. I grew a moustache for my character of Maharana Pratap, which was also very manly. I remember people used to tell me that it looks very macho. I think boys are good, but people probably want to see men. You don’t want to see the boy-next-door every time. But having said that I am loving this new rustic, grungy look with my facial hair. During the lockdown, my hair and beard grew and so when I went to meet the creatives of the show and we sketched out a character, we thought that the beard and moustache easily go with the character. It makes him look very macho, very manly, and very evil at the same time, and it would have been difficult to show all that in a clean-shaven look.

Shehzada Dhami, who was seen in “Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka”: Facial hair is something that anyone can keep, but it doesn’t suit everyone, also not everyone can carry it. One should always opt for look that suits their face. For me, I think it went quite well with my face and though I have trimmed it now, I can keep it again whenever I like. On TV, I feel if someone keeps a moustache and a beard, either they are always sad or they are like an angry young man. That’s the image that has been created. But it depends totally on your expression. Off-camera I love carrying a moustache and a beard, but being an actor I need to change and experiment with my looks too, so that the audience sees my different versions. For ‘Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka’, they were looking for a character who had a moustache and a beard, and I fit the bill.

Rrahul Sudhir, who essays Vansh in “Ishq Mein Marjawan 2”: I honestly don’t feel that a beard or a moustache signifies anything. As far as dominance and aggression is concerned, facial hair has nothing to do with it, it comes from between your ears and nowhere else. Although aggression as a word has a slightly negative connotation attached to it. I don’t associate it with being a man, I would rather say assertive. I agree that we are too consumed with our ideas about looking good or not. If nature didn’t differentiate then who are we. Every man can grow a beard and moustache. Off-screen it is generally a beard because I am too lazy to shave, but on-screen I really want to be without a beard at least for now.

Avinash Mukherjee, seen as Soham Singh in “Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki”: I think moustaches and beards have become a trend now because everyone is doing it. It has become more stylish and accepted in mainstream entertainment. It looks good, and men, women, and girls appreciate it. I don’t think they represent dominance or aggression because they represent a little bit of gravity, a little bit of maturity, and it gives a little bit of shape to your entire personality and your face looks good with it. I think every man can carry a beard and if not that then can carry a moustache and some older men even carry a French beard as well, so I think a beard looks good on everybody. Off-screen I prefer a little bit of stubble. The show that I am doing ‘Shakti…’ I needed a beard for that and I was really happy because I was not very keen on being clean-shaven because of two things, it’s a lot of work to keep shaving every day and secondly, even with a light beard your face has a definite cutting and it looks leaner and sharper. But keeping a beard, if it’s not groomed then it doesn’t look very good, so make sure you do that every two-three days.

Hiten Tejwani, the eldest of the four brothers in “Gupta Brothers”: Male protagonists are indeed flaunting moustaches and beards on-screen. It also depends on where the story is based. Our story is based in Banaras, and in families there, if you have someone older, then the moustache gives him that feel of authority. And my character Shiv Narayan Gupta is the eldest one in the family and it goes well with his position in the family. To a certain extent, they represent dominance and aggression but it depends on a character. When we went to Banaras we visited a lot of houses there and we saw many elders in the family sporting moustaches and now even they are following the trend and growing beards. Not everyone can carry a moustache and a beard. It has to suit your face also and depending on that you need to style it and you need to keep the length, you have to see what suits your face the best. Off-screen I would love to grow a beard also, but my character only has a moustache so I am keeping it like that. I was ok to wear a moustache for the show because the whole idea is to look like the character. I have done this earlier also, but this time I have grown a moustache.

The post According to some Tele-Celebs moustache and beard signify one’s identity first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

“Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka” actor Shehzada Dhami feels that OTT platforms have given way to good content to the viewers. He also confessed that the audience has risen above the bold content and wants quality content.

“There was a time when you could get more audience with bold scenes in shows and series, but not anymore. The audience has become very intelligent and those bold scenes can’t lure them anymore. They want good and quality content, something that makes sense and is entertaining at the same time,” he said.

Asked if he is ready to do a bold scene on-screen, he said, “I have never really given it a thought, but if the script demands and it’s very essential for my character and the sequence of the show, then I might. But if someone asks to do bold and intimate scenes randomly, then I won’t.”

Sharing his opinion on the digital boom in the country, the young actor pointed out that it is providing opportunities to all the aspiring and struggling actors.

“The OTT platforms have given a lot of opportunities to the new talent in the country. There are so many young boys and girls who are able to make a mark in the industry because of this. With so many web series being made and everyone is getting the opportunity to showcase their talent and this industry works purely on your talent,” Shehzada said.

So why is he still away from the web? “My debut show was ‘Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka’, and while I was doing it, I was getting a lot of calls for web series. People were seeing my work on TV and were approaching me, but I was doing a show then and of course I didn’t want to leave it. Now I am just waiting for something good, in fact, I am giving auditions for TV shows also. But if I get an option to do a web series then I will definitely do it because people are watching it more now,” he said.

He also asserted that the audience is preferring the web more because of the options they get. “The content on the web is excellent. In fact, I feel OTT platforms have given us a lot of options in the comforts of our home, and it’s available in various languages too. In fact, I feel because of the lockdown and the pandemic people are preferring them instead of going to a theatre. Even I love to watch films and shows on OTT platforms,” Shehzada said.

The post ‘The audience don’t get lured by bold scenes anymore’ opines Shehzada Dhami first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

“Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka!” fame Shehzada Dhami’s name speaks royalty, and so does his stylish looks. But the actor recently trimmed his full-grown moustache for a stubble after almost seven years, and is still looking charming as ever.

“I did it after seven years, and though it feels different, I am loving the new look. I had to give a look test and got it done for that. I am not upset because I know I can grow it anytime,” he said.

We all agree that not everyone can rock a moustache so effortlessly and still look so handsome, but the actor said that it’s time the world saw him sporting different looks too.

“It’s not easy to carry a moustache. People have told me that even with that I never looked arrogant or dominating sort of, it went well with my face and I pulled it off really well. But now even I wanted my fans and followers to see me in a different look. I love moustaches and can grow it anytime, but I also want people to see me without it and see that I can be the same good-looking guy even without a moustache,” Shehzada said.

Well, Shehzada you are definitely nailing this new look too, and moustache or no moustache your female fans will still go gaga over you.

The post Shehzada Dhami trims seven long years full-grown moustache, still looks charming first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Diwali means family time for most of us, but not for these actors. They are unable to celebrate the festival with their families because they cannot travel due to work or Covid-19 restrictions. Here is what they are doing this year.

Shehzada Dhami: I always celebrate all the festivals with my family and ensure that I take time out for them. But this year, shooting is on and I am not able to get a long holiday. I have debuted with Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka this year and I am going to miss being with my family which is in ludhiana. I lost my father last year, so this will be the first Diwali without him. I am going to miss his presence too. I am in Mumbai with my flatmates and we will decorate our house. We will light candles and diyas and also make a rangoli. We are focussing on making this a traditional Diwali while maintaining social distancing. I have two brothers who I will miss a lot. Everyone should have a low-key Diwali this year. I will splurge myself with a lot of mithais and do the puja too. I will have noise-free, cracker-free Diwali.

Arun Mandola: I have to shoot the next day after Diwali and before Diwali, I am at Ayodhya Temple. This is why I cannot go home this year. There is no comparison in Diwali here and Delhi ki Diwali, which I have seen since childhood. I am very attached to Diwali because Diwali is one of my favourite festivals. People exchange Diwali mithai on Diwali. I remember I always get excited about Diwali and decorate my house, do lots of shopping, buy gifts and mithai. The best thing if you see Delhi from the sky then you will see full of colourful LED lights everywhere. I am missing my mother’s food and enjoing with my siblings. At home, we do Lakshmi poojan. Sometimes, I used to go on long drives with my friends late at night, after Diwali. This year I want to do something special for poor children and make their Diwali special as well.

Aniruddh Dave: I am unable to go as I am shooting for my show Lockdown ki Love Story. My wife is expecting too, so I can’t travel. I will do basic rituals and pooja. I will miss the lighting of Jaipur and the kind of mithais and food items which are made in my hometown. They are not available anywhere. Last year, I celebrated with my parents but this time I can’t go and I can’t even ask them to come given the Covid-19 scenario. I suggest everyone not to take this Covid-19 situation lightly and stay at home. I will light candles and diyas at home only. One must understand this Diwali is different and in line with the new normal. The real celebration definition has changed. One shouldn’t party this year at all. I will do a video call with my close friends and family members on Diwali.

Yesha Rughani: I make sure that I visit home, Rajkot, each year on Diwali, no matter where I am. But this year, I decided to not travel because I have started shooting and I don’t want to take any risk. Keeping in mind everyone’s safety, I have decided to stay in Mumbai. I will celebrate with my sisters in Mumbai. We will make a rangoli, decorate the house and have also planned a nice dinner at home.

Srishti Jain: Usually, my family travels to Bhopal to celebrate with my grandparents and cousins. But this year we’re going to stay home here in Mumbai and celebrate Diwali here. Well, we will have a few family friends over who live in the same building. We will do the puja and have lots of Diwali mithai, There will be lots of good food and fun times with my family and friends. Diwali is the festival or lights and marks a win of good over evil. I make a wish every Diwali for my loved ones and for myself to have happiness and brightness in our lives as long as they live and for the lord to give us the strength to always make the right decisions and be good.

The post It’s sad that these actors are unable to spend Diwali with their family first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

“Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka” actor Shehzada Dhami had a good number of followers on the video-sharing application TikTok. Though he credits the application for the fame he got, he shared that the ban did not affect him much as he was not posting videos on it professionally.

“A lot of people call me a TikToker, or a TikTok star, I am not a TikToker, but I thank the application for the fame I got. It just started as a time pass for me when a friend suggested that I should post a video on it. My first video was appreciated, and I did a few more after that. but it was never like a professional thing for me. I was doing it for fun, but having said that I must say that whatever fame I got was because of the application,” he said.

His first interaction with the camera was a music video that he featured in, but unfortunately, that did not release. He calls working on the sets of his supernatural drama a learning experience, and said, “When I came to Mumbai, I had no clue about the industry. I didn’t know any production houses, nothing about working in front of the camera, slowly I got to know the technicalities and the big names of the industry.”

“When the show was offered to me, I couldn’t say no. It gave me a lot of recognition, and all the things that I learned here, I will be able to apply in my future projects,” he added.

Shehzada confessed that though he was a little apprehensive of resuming the shoots post the lockdown, he thanked the production house for taking care of him so well.

“Honestly, initially I was a little apprehensive. And when the shootings resumed I was in Punjab, my production house assured me that they will take care of everything, will follow all precautionary measures, and they did. So I am all ok now. I have adjusted well to this new normal,” he said.

“Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka” is going off-air this month, and the young actor shared that his focus now is to do more good work. “I want to play the lead, or even a negative lead will work, but not a parallel lead. I would love to do positive lead roles, they will always be my priority. My focus now, as an actor, is to do more good work,” he said.

The actor is also quite famous amongst his fans for his strong and attractive personality. His long and luscious hair, his beard, and the moustache simply add to it. But he said that if a role demands he is ready to experiment with his looks.

“I have often been told that my hair, beard, and moustache suits my personality and my name. And it also went with my character in the show, but I am open to experimenting with my looks. If a role demands, I will go clean-shaven and will cut my hair too,” Shehzada signed off.

The post Shehzada Dhami says, ‘Whatever fame I got was because of the TikTok application,” first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Shehzada Dhami is not an ardent follower of the reality show “Bigg Boss”, but he is confident that if superstar Salman Khan stops hosting the show, the TRPs would drastically fall. The “Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka” actor also said that nobody in the industry can host the show as he does. “Salman Khan is my favourite, and I can’t imagine ‘Bigg Boss’ without him. I don’t think anyone in the industry can host the show like him, not even SRK (Shah Rukh Khan). If Salman ever thinks of quitting the show, then the show will be in big trouble because the show has made such a big fan base because of him,” he said.

This is the fourteenth season of “Bigg Boss” and the makers got ex-contestants Gauahar Khan, Hina Khan and Sidharth Shukla on-board as seniors. Shehzada feels this was unfair because it did not give this year’s contestants to play their game properly. “I did not understand why there were seniors in the house, this had never happened before, and it shouldn’t have happened this year too. The seniors dominated the contestants and it somewhere did affect their game, and then it was said that they are not opening up, how will they open up when there was someone else other than ‘Bigg Boss’ dictating the rules,” he said.

But who is his favourite contestant this year? “I am not following the season properly, but from what I have seen and heard Jasmin Bhasin is playing really well. She is my favourite and I wish her all the best,” he said. Lastly, asked if he will accept the show if it is ever offered to him, he said, “I don’t know, it completely depends on when they are offering it to me. If I am working in a show, then obviously I won’t leave the show for ‘Bigg Boss’. At the same time, if I am being offered a TV show and ‘Bigg Boss’ together, then I will accept the TV show.”

“But, if I don’t have any projects in my hand, and then if the show is offered to me, I will accept it,” Shehzada said.

The post Shehzada Dhami feels that if Salman Khan stops hosting the show, the TRPs would fall drastically first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.
