‘Pratha’, Specialising in Handloom Sarees, Now Opens a New Grand Showroom in Thane!

After capturing the hearts of women in Pune, renowned bridal hair and makeup expert Kavita Koparkar’s popular handloom saree brand Pratha has now expanded to Thane with a grand new showroom on Ram Maruti Road. The elegant store was recently inaugurated at a glittering event attended by several well-known Marathi film and television celebrities.

Founded in 2016 with just 32 silk sarees, Pratha has grown into a celebrated brand offering thousands of sarees today. With over 4,500 brides styled under her expert hands in the bridal industry, Kavita’s deep love for sarees, her artistic sense of colour, and admiration for traditional craftsmanship led to the birth of Pratha.

Following the success of the elegant 2,500 sq. ft. flagship store on Bhandarkar Road, Pune, Pratha’s new two-storey, 3,000 sq. ft. Thane outlet now welcomes saree lovers. The store showcases sarees from over 40 weaving clusters across India, each handpicked personally by Kavita from traditional weavers. Over the years, Pratha sarees have been worn by celebrated personalities like Renuka Shahane, Mrinal Kulkarni, Anuradha Paudwal, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sai Tamhankar, Spruha Joshi, Parna Pethe, Shivani Sonar, Shivani Rangole, and Swanandi Tikekar.

Speaking about the brand’s journey, Kavita Koparkar said, “Pratha is not just a saree brand—it is a celebration of Indian heritage and feminine grace. With our Thane expansion, our goal is to take the grandeur of Indian handloom sarees beyond Maharashtra, across India, and to the global stage.”

The brand currently employs over 50 women, and both stores are known for their calm, luxurious ambience. Just recently MX Player Exclusive and Mirchi Play’s original webseries ‘Baykola Havay Tari Kay’ has been released. Starring Shreya Bugde, Aniket Vishwasrao and Nikhil Ratnaparkhi in the lead roles, the series is directed by multi-faceted Priyadarshan Jadhav. The web series is getting a strong responses from the viewers and the main feature of this is that the viewers will get to see the different ‘looks’ of Aniket Vishwasrao and Shreya Bugde in the same web series.

Marathi web-series ‘Baykola Havay Tari Kay’, drops a trailer

In recent times web series are a preferred source of entertainment for viewers. Resultantly, during the lockdown and later, quite a few web series are being made, in regional languages too. A brand new Marathi web series Baykola Havay Tari Kay is on the way which is being directed by noted actor director Priyadarshan Jadhav. Shreya Bugde, Aniket Vishwasrao and Nikhil Ratnaparkhi will be playing lead roles.

What would a wife want in her husband? Someone with a flamboyant-looking actor, a police officer like Singham, a peace-loving spiritual guru or a domineering politician. And then with so many sky-high expectations, every wife wonders why God didn’t impart all these qualities in her husband.

MX Player Exclusive and Mirchi Play Original Baykola Havay Tari Kay (What a Wife Wants) is bringing a humorous and entertaining web series. An ordinary housewife (Shreya Bugde) pleases Lord Krishna (Nikhil Ratnaparkhi) with her devotion and in return asks God to upgrade her husband according to the image of the best spouse in her sight, as seen in the trailer of the web series.

Priyadarshan Jadhav is the director of this 6-part web series. Speaking about it, he said, “Everyone always wants to be upgraded in life. I want to upgrade to a new car, I want to upgrade with a big house … but what happens when does anyone Desires partner upgradation? Shreya, Aniket and Nikhil are going to tickle your funny bones with coming to visit you with the perfect comedic timing.

Shreya Bugde said, “My character is a simple housewife who wants everything that is best for her husband and herself. All I can say about the series is that every time Lord Krishna says ‘Tathastu’, new things will be seen and I guarantee that at the end of all this, Lord Krishna himself will have this question Baykola Havay Tari Kay?’

MX Player has captivated audiences to this day through multi-genre Marathi web series like Paandu, Samantar, Aankhi Kay Hav and Idiot Box, offering works of art on many different subjects. Comedienne Shreya Bugde to host Zee Talkies Comedy Awards show

Shreya Bugde is the host of this year’s Zee Talkies Comedy Awards. Because of her humorous ways, her comic timing, she is the darling of the audiences. So it is a pleasure for her fans and the audience to see Shreya in the role of host at this year’s Zee Talkies Comedy Awards.

But it was challenging to conduct the show without anybody in the close proximity. All the nominees were virtually connected with us this year, so it was a different and challenging experience. Bhau Kadam and Yogesh Shirsat gave me a great support. I’m sure it will be fun-watch.”
