For Shweta, film music has always been more than just something that plays in the background. It is often the first thing that stays with her after a film ends thanks to geniuses like Hans. Zimmer’s compositions known for his iconic score for films like Dune, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, in particular, have been a constant presence for her through her years being of an actors, a cinema now and has shaped how she experiences cinema.

She speaks about music as something deeply woven into her process as an actor. Before every project, she builds a playlist, one that reflects where the character is emotionally. It helps her understand silences, pauses, and inner conflicts, sometimes even before the script fully settles in. Hans Zimmer’s music, she feels, does much of that work without saying a word.

“His music has always stayed with me long after a film ends,” Shweta shares. “There’s an honesty and depth in his compositions that really hits you emotionally. As an actor and a cinema student, I’m drawn to anything that helps me understand emotion better, and his music does that quietly, without explanation. Watching him live feels like the most direct way to experience that energy.”

The concert was also an excuse to step away from routine and allow herself to simply absorb something without needing to analyse it too much. “I’m coming back with a renewed perspective,” she says. “Music has such a strong role in shaping emotion and storytelling, and seeing it come alive like this feels important.”

For Shweta, the trip was about returning with something intangible, a feeling, a rhythm, a deeper understanding that will inevitably find its way into her work.

The news came during another first. Shweta had just attended her first festival with Haramkhor at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, where she won Best Actor. She was on a road trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco when director Neeraj Ghaywan called to say Masaan was headed to Cannes.

“That moment changed how I saw cinema. It wasn’t just about release or box office. It was about stories travelling, conversations starting, and cultures meeting.”

This year, Shweta attended the Berlin International Film Festival for the first time, a festival long on her wishlist. Now also a producer, she chose to experience #Berlinale as a student of cinema attending panels, watching international films, and engaging deeply with global storytellers. She watched films from across cultures, attended a live orchestra screening of Charlie Chaplin, and met Jack Thorne, writer of Adolescence.

“For me, festivals are where cinema breathes differently. You’re reminded that stories don’t belong to one country. They belong to everyone.”

As she continues to grow as an actor and producer, Shweta is clear about her next chapter bringing her own films to the global festival circuit.

“I love festivals. I love the conversations, the curiosity, the celebration of storytelling. This is just the beginning. See you over there.”

Speaking about completing the shoot, Shweta Tripathi shared in a detailed note, “Shooting across Bhopal over a continuous; gruelling schedule really pushed all of us, but it also created a sense of camaraderie and honesty that reflects in the work we’ve done. What drew me to Palkon Pe was the courage of its storytelling. It doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable questions around divorce, gender equality, sexuality and mental health that are often spoken about in hushed tones or oversimplified. Niddhish has such a unique way of looking at human behaviour; he brings a psychologist’s sensitivity to every frame, every silence, every emotion. As an actor, that kind of direction allows you to dig deeper, to sit with discomfort, and to be truthful.”

Shweta further adds, “Working with my co-actors Abhishek and Eshan was equally enriching. Everyone brought such sincerity to the table, and that made even the toughest days feel purposeful. Palkon Mein is a story that stayed with me after the camera cut, and I genuinely hope it resonates with audiences when it releases.”

Speaking about the project, Shweta shared, “Theatre has always been my first love. It’s raw, immediate, and leaves no space to hide—from the audience or from the truth. Producing a play like Cock is a personal and creative decision born out of my belief that storytelling should reflect the world in all its complexity and beauty.

She further adds, “We are living in a time where people are finally feeling empowered to own their identities, and Cock doesn’t shy away from the discomfort or the beauty of that journey.
