#Navratri has been one of the most favourite festivals of celebrities. The colourful festival allows them to shine during the nine day celebrations. Tele-Celebrities like #DelnaazIrani, #SalimDiwan, #AnjaliPhougat, #SnehBinny, #KavveriPriiyam, #NiveditaBasu, #RaginiNandwani, #PranitaaPandit, #ArpitRanka and #AakashAhuja share their fondest memories. Navratri will be celebrated from Thursday across India, and celebrities have shared some of their favourite memories related to the festival.

Entrepreneur Sneh Binny feels like it’s been ages since he celebrated Navratri. “I’m a Gujarati, so we used to celebrate it every year at NSCI private banquet. I don’t fast, but my mom does. While celebrating the festival, we all wear colourful kurtas,” he said.

Designer Anjali Phougat’s fondest memory of Navratri is going to play garba and dancing in groups. “I do fast sometimes, for two days,” shared the designer, who likes to dress up in Indian bright coloured kurtis and sharara for the festival. “For garba, I prefer wearing a flared lehenga,” she said.

Bollywood Diaries actor Salim Diwan considers Navratri to be a festival of joy and love. “When I was kid, I used to play garba and dandiya with my friends all night and forget about everything. That childhood memory comes in my mind during every Navratri, and seriously it was awesome. I don’t fast during Navratri, but I prefer wearing nine different colours of attire for 9 days of Navratri and celebrate with my friends to make the festival more memorable and joyful,” he said.

Ziddi Dil Maane Na actress Kavveri Priiyam shared that in her hometown, Jharkhand, Navratri is celebrated in a very grand way and on all the 9 days, they have poojas at their place. “There are pandals set up at different places, and you can hear the loud speakers chanting all the mantras to please the Goddess. There are days where we go out and chill with the family at pandals and they serve the special khichdi there which is so yummy. I just love that khichdi. I wish I could go back to my hometown and stay there for Navratri specially and have that khichdi because it has got that special taste which I can’t describe. My mom fasts on the 8th and 9th day of the pooja. We pray to the Goddess together,” she said.

As for clothes, she prefers wearing traditional attire. “Something like lehenga choli and could be a saree. Basically, I like to spend time with family and friends on these special occasions,” she said.

Producer Nivedita Basu isn’t big on celebrating Navratri. “For us it’s not Navratri, it’s mostly Durga Pooja. In Bengal and south India, I don’t think there’s any concept of fasting, so we don’t really fast on Navratri, but it’s more like eating good food,” she said. “Navratri coincides with Durga Pooja, so obviously I want to wear a traditional outfit. I can’t carry a saree very well, so I look at more Indo-western,” she added.

Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein actress Ragini Nandwani’s fondest memories are the dandiya celebrations. “Things have definitely changed because of the pandemic, so it’s celebrated with personal safety, keeping the pandemic in mind, so things are definitely not the same. I fast on the last day. That’s what I have been following since childhood,” she said. She usually prefers Indian outfits because she thinks festivals need to have that traditional feel, so she mostly wears salwar kameez.

For actress Delnaaz Irani, Navratri is something which is filled with fun and colours, vibrancy and doing a lot of events. “I have been going out of town, going for the garba events for the past many years. Of course because of the pandemic now, since the last two years we have not been traveling, but it was more of a professional thing. As kids, we would enjoy going to all these garba events. And not that you know, Parsis usually don’t fast for Navratri, so it’s not a very mandatory thing and we’ve not been doing that, but yes I take part in all the society functions. But I don’t think I’ve done that for many years now, because I’ve gone for garba events as a celebrity guest, especially Gujarat because I remember going to Surat for all these years or Ahmedabad or Baroda or places in Rajasthan. It’s been more of a professional thing than enjoying with family or friends for so many years. This year, my building has planned something, so yeah I am going to take part in all the activities in the society and am going to be an active member there, as far as the festivities are concerned,” she said. She is not fond of ghagra-cholis, so she will wear a nice suit or maybe a saree.

Kawach 2 actress Pranitaa Pandit said that last year, Navratri was very dull. This year she is sure things are going to be better. “I love visiting the Pandals and eating yummy food and going out with friends. Best part about Navratri is that you bump into so many people you know, especially when you go for a pandal pooja and all these places where the whole Navratri function is happening. Also, I remember shooting while Navratri was going on and those Navratri sequences where you wear these beautiful ghagras and dance around. It has always been a lot of fun.
One of my first shows where I dressed up for a Navratri event, it was a very good memory because I remember for the first time I wore ghagra of mirror sequins and played dandiya,” she shared. She likes wearing very light and colourful clothes. “I just want it to be very simple and Indian. It can be a nice coloured saree or a very bright lehenga. So that is my favourite look for Navratri,” she said.

Mahabharat fame actor Arpit Ranka thinks that Navratri is something that everyone enjoys. “And because of the pandemic, we’re not able to celebrate Navratri. Navratri is a festival we celebrate with our family. At home, we have pooja. I used to do fasting for all 9 days, but now because of my work, shooting I’m not able to do it. From where I belong, Rajasthan, they celebrate this festival in a grand way. I still remember, as kids, every night I used to play dandiya with friends. We used to enjoy it so well that we didn’t realise how 9 days just went by. But I believe that there’s a logic behind fasting. Nowadays people don’t actually celebrate festivals with beliefs but celebrate it by pretending or showing off,” said the actor, who shared that usually, people wear kurta-pyjamas for the occasion.

Walking down memory lane, Thapki Pyaar Ki 2 actor Aakash Ahuja said, “We used to be kids and my mother used to send us to our two different relatives’ houses. In Delhi, there’s a tradition of ‘kanjak’, so we used to go and have prasad and we used to get money. That was a very exciting part of our life back then. I do fast on the first day and the last day.” He prefers wearing Indian outfits because he thinks that people hardly get to wear kurta pajama, and Diwali and Navratri are such festivals where you get that excuse to wear Indian wear.

The post Tele-Celebrities talk about their favourite festival, Navratri! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Jewellery and diamond entrepreneur #SnehBinny shares a special connection with Dubai. He travels there quite a number of times for work and also to meet friends and relatives.

“I was not born and raised in Dubai. I keep going there for work and such related activities or sometimes it’s a leisure trip, especially for shopping. I have relatives and friends in the city as well. Dubai is considered a happy place to live and shop because there is everything you need there. There are endless things that you can do there. You can taste multiple cuisines from across the world, travel, do some high adrenaline activities,” he says.

Rules and regulations in Dubai are strict and Sneh feels that it’s another plus of the city. “People think twice before going against the law. I think that’s what rules are meant for, and that’s how a place like Dubai that has so many different cultures can get along with respecting each and every culture and person there. They are all living in peace, maintaining sanity,” adds the co-owner of Delhi Binny’s Brigade, a part of the Tennis Premier League (TPL).

About the places he loves the most in Dubai and would also recommend someone who is visiting the city for the first time, Sneh mentions the name of Jumeirah Beach Residence or JBR first.

“Whenever I am in Dubai, I try to stay there. That area is always lively. There are a lot of people there. It’s touristy and there’s a beautiful beach where something or the other is happening every day, day and night. That area is definitely fun. Other than JBR, Palm Jumeirah is also beautiful. One can also visit Burj Khalifa, the beautiful malls, try desert safari etc. People think Dubai doesn’t have mountains but it does. I would also recommend visiting Hatta, where you can experience beautiful mountains and fields. One should also try all the fun activities there,” he says.

Migration to Dubai from all over the world is the maximum. When asked why does that happen and what are the advantages in living in the city, Sneh explains, “I think that’s because Dubai has everything you need in terms of luxury, food, quality of life and so on. It’s not so expensive to buy a house or a car or whatever things that you’d need compared to India or any other country as they don’t really have taxes. They just have VAT so that’s what keeps things cheap. They are heavily based on technology, so everything is quite easy there. Dubai is open to immigrants and has favorable laws for them.”

Social media is definitely a part of jewellery and diamond entrepreneur #SnehBinny’s life. However, he is not much active after the Covid scenario mainly because the content he used to put up was around travel and fitness, which could not be done given the lockdown and restrictions.

“But now with things slowly opening up, I have started again… I mainly use Instagram. Facebook, I feel, is outdated and to be honest, I find Twitter boring,” says Sneh, who co-owns Delhi Binny’s Brigade, a part of the Tennis Premier League (TPL), with filmmaker-actor Divya Khosla Kumar.

Celebs use social media to announce anything and everything. And, Sneh feels that’s what social media is for, to share glimpses of one’s private life.
“We need to be responsible while using social media, especially what we put out. Social media is a boon, but sometimes it backfires really badly. Social media is being misused by some. That’s why I keep saying that it should be used wisely,” he adds.
There was a time when social media did not exist, which is probably why there was a mystery element associated with celebrities.

“I look at it in a different way in the current Covid times. Now, social media is the only exposure that celebs have to connect with their audience. Otherwise it sometimes feels like over exposure too,” he concludes.

The post Sneh Binny’s favourite social media handle is Instagram! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

#Janmashtami, which marks the birth of Lord Krishna who is lovingly known as Kanha is being celeberated today. Looking back at their childhood days, TV Celebrities like #SnehBinny, #ParullChaudhry, #HarjinderSingh, #AvinashMukherjee, #SharadMalhotra, #NiveditaBasu, #AmitSarin, #SagarParekh share some of their fondest memories related to the festival.

Sneh Binny, co-owner of Delhi Binny’s Brigade, agrees with Sheena. “Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve attended a Janmashtami ceremony. It was when I was in a boarding school. In fact, I was part of the human pyramid back then. It’s a fun festival,” he said.

Bhagya Lakshmi actress Parull Chaudhry recalls seeing decorative jhankis outside everyone’s home in Delhi. “My Janmashtami memories are of my childhood days. There used to be decorative jhankis outside everyone’s home in Delhi, and in the evenings we would go for a long walk along with neighbors, friends and family and take a round of the entire neighbourhood and take Prasad from everyone who had these beautiful jhankis made with such effort and love. As far as Dahi Handi goes, I have seen the madness here in Mumbai. I have witnessed some real difficult ones, which are tied at a great height and takes expertise and team effort to break. The music and energy around give the participants so much encouragement, however, I feel it isn’t safe,” she shared.

Inspector Avinash actor Harjinder Singh likes bhajans and kirtans during the festival time. “Janmashtami is a celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna. I’ve seen one or two Dahi Handis. The good thing about Janmashtami is that the bhajans and kirtans take place in temples, and that adds to the positivity,” he shared.

Sasural Simar Ka 2 actor Avinash Mukherjee enjoys the Dahi Handi celebration. “I have been raised in Mumbai, so I have seen Janmashtami’s Dahi Handi celebration quite often. The festive feeling is always good. Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city where all festivals are celebrated. That’s the beauty of living in Mumbai.

Naagin 5 actor Sharad Malhotra recalls celebrating the festival in Kolkata. “In Kolkata, my home-town Janmashtami is celebrated in a big way. I feel very good when I hear Lord Krishna bhajans, the vibrations of Janmashtami is very good. It comes after Rakshabandhan and is followed by Ganpati, Navratri and Diwali,” he said.

Producer Nivedita Basu talks about Janmashtami sequence in TV shows. “Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city and we get to celebrate all the festivals, Janmashtami is one of them. Even in television shows, we incorporate Janmashtami sequence, and Lord Krishna is the saviour to many of our protagonists in times of need. #Janmashtami, which marks the birth of Lord Krishna who is lovingly known as Kanha, will be celebrated on August 30 this year. Looking back at their childhood days, TV stars like #SnehBinny, #ParullChaudhry, #HarjinderSingh, #AvinashMukherjee, #SharadMalhotra, #NiveditaBasu, #AmitSarin, #SagarParekh share some of their fondest memories related to the festival, ‘Govinda’.

There used to be decorative jhankis outside everyone’s home in Delhi, and in the evenings we would go for a long walk along with neighbors, friends and family and take a round of the entire neighbourhood and take Prasad from everyone who had these beautiful jhankis made with such effort aand love. As far as Dahi Handi goes, I have seen the madness here in Mumbai. I have witnessed some real difficult ones, which are tied at a great height and takes expertise and team effort to break. The music and energy around gives the participants so much encouragement, however I feel it isn’t safe,” she shared.

Inspector Avinash actor Harjinder Singh likes bhajans and kirtans during the festival time. “Janmashtami is a celebration of birth of lord Krishna.

Janmashtami sequences are mostly well received by the audience,” she said.

Tiger Heart producer Amit Sarin used to do a lot of masti with friends. “Janmasthmi is always amazing. The Dahi Handi songs in films and TV shows always look good. Lord Krishna has a special place in our hearts as well as in TV and films. I enjoy all festivals. In school, it used to be fun as one used to get to do a lot of masti with friends. His love for travel takes #SnehBinny to different places around India and abroad. The jewellery and diamond entrepreneur recently went to Kerala with family and had a wonderful vacation.

“We went to Kerala for four nights but our flight got rescheduled and there was no other flight to Mumbai, so we had to extend one more night. Well, we were more than happy to do that. Travelling with family is always fun. This was actually my second visit to the state, though I don’t really remember the first time I visited Kerala because at that time I was just a kid,” he says.

This is after eight months that he took a well deserved holiday. “You must take your mind off work. But, because of the Covid scenario we could not take the chance. Finally, when we had the opportunity we did not want to miss it. Short breaks are a must for your mental as well as physical health. It’s as simple as breaking the monotony our life gets into these days. Just like a computer needs a shutdown/rebooting after a point, the mind too needs the same,” adds Sneh, who co-owns Delhi Binny’s Brigade, a part of the Tennis Premier League (TPL), with filmmaker-actor Divya Khosla Kumar.

Happy that technology has advanced enough for one to keep a tab on work even on a holiday. Though he prefers to stay away from work during a break, Sneh always carries his phones and laptops in case of an emergency.

Going back to his exploration of God’s own country, he shares, “Kerala is a beauty. I loved Munnar and Kottayam, both had a different vibe. One is on top of a mountain with clouds around you, and the other one is by the lake. This trip was like a true escape amid nature. I loved the tea gardens of Munnar and the lush green beauty all around.”

The post Sneh Binny says, ‘Just like a computer needs a shutdown/rebooting after a point, th e mind too needs the same’! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Businessman #SnehBinny says that for celebrities, make-up is essential. Earlier there was a lot of stigma around make-up. People generally used to avoid talking about it. “Well now it’s totally fine. Make-up is basic for celebrities, male or female. It’s almost like a necessity,” said the co-owner of Delhi Binny’s Brigade (DBB) who feels that people are now very open about it. Nowadays, even male celebrities post videos and photos while doing make-up. “Even I have posted some videos and photos while doing make-up before the shoot for DBB. It’s not a big deal,” said the CEO at Binny’s Jewelry Private Limited.

He said that using make-up has been normalised to a point, and he thinks it will be completely normal very soon. But he knows that sometimes, people judge others when they do a bit out-of-the-box make-up. “They feel it’s overdone. It depends on the occasion. Male celebs usually do make-up before shoots, not really for occasions.”

These days male celebrities also endorse waxing products. “Oh really! I didn’t know about this. This is new for me. Nothing is wrong with it though. I used to get waxed when I had six-pack abs. It gives clean appeal,” said Binny.

Some say that using a lot of make-up can affect the skin too. “Yes, I think so too, make-up is not all natural, it does affect skin in the longer run,” he said. He doesn’t really have a skincare routine, but he was asked by a dermatologist to use sun protection everyday. “It’s a task, so I always forget using it,” he said.

The post Sneh Binny feels that make-up is a basic necessity for celebrities, male or female! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

#RakshaBandhan is a pious festival which depicts the bond between a sister and a brother. Here are a few television stars who want a rakhi tied on their wrists by a Bollywood celebrity. Tele-Celebs like #SharadMalhotra, #MrunalJain, #SagarParekh, #SnehBinny and #RohitPurohit name a Bollywood actress they would like to have as their sister.

Raksha Bandhan is a fun day spent with siblings and family over food, conversation and laughter. The occasion is almost here and we all have been making plans, preparations, as to how to make the day special. How about some fun to ease out the prep induced tiredness? Well, we have an idea. We asked a few male celebrities to take the name of that one Bollywood actress that they would like to have as their sister and why? Here’s what they said:

Sharad Malhotra: I would love to get a rakhi tied byTwinkle Khanna. I admire the fact that she balances her life and family so perfectly.

Mrunal Jain: Kajol would probably be the ideal sister for me. She is bubbly, sensible and I am a huge admirer have watched most of her films.

Sagar Parekh: I would like to get a rakhi tied by Rakhi Sawant, because her name is also rakhi. (Laughs) Jokes apart, I think she is bold, fierce and she would be a good elder sister, someone who would always be on my side no matter what.

Sneh Binny: Shraddha Kapoor, I would say. She is talented, professional and comes across as a genuine human being.

Rohit Purohit: I feel I would like to get Rakhi tied by Katrina Kaif. She gives very positive vibes on-screen as an actor.

The post Television stars choose a bollywood celebrity as a ‘Sister’ for Raksha Bandhan! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

#RakshaBandhan Is around the corner and people are happy that this year they’ll be able to celebrate it with their near and dear ones. Tele-Celebs too are joyous because they too are keen to meet their families, extended families and more importantly their siblings. Small screen celebs like #ParullChaudhry, #ManishWadhwa, #SharadMalhotra, #SnehBinny, #YaminiMalhotra, #ChitraVakilSharma share special childhood memories around this festival.

Raksha Bandhan is around the corner. This special day for siblings is celebrated all over India with much excitement. Rakhi defines the special bonds that siblings share with one another. The day is all about tying the rakhi while making promises to be with each other throughout, exchanging gifts, pleasantries, gorging on delicious food and having loads of fun with your loved ones. Such beautiful traditions create memories that we cherish forever. Celebrities talk about their fondest rakhi memory from their childhood days and how special their siblings are in their lives. They also share their plans for celebrating Raksha Bandhan this year.

Parull Chaudhry: My fondest memory would be getting all of us together at one place. I have four masis and one mama, and I am very close to my maternal side of the family. I don’t have real brothers, we are just two sisters, and we both bond very well with our cousin brothers. My fondest memories would be tying rakhi, getting gifts in return, eating together and having a lot of fun. Brothers are definitely special and so are sisters, I have a younger sister, Snigdhaa Chaudhry by profession she is Food writer/ blogger and food stylist she is very special. I look forward to spending rakhi with them and like last year this time too I will send them their gifts online. I will be tying rakhi to my sister and we will have some sweets and video call our cousins.

Manish Wadhwa: There are so many memories of Raksha Bandhan. My younger brother, my elder sister Rajiv Wadhwa and Geetu didi and I used to wait for rakhi every year as mummy always made gol gappe, dahi chaat, chole bhature at home on that day and we all family used to meet and celebrate. Now I don’t have my mother and younger brother with us. This time I will celebrate rakhi the same way as I have been doing with my sister. She will come over and we will have a good time and also video call our brother.

Sharad Malhotra: Memories of rakhi include when a lot of cousins used to be together and we used to enjoy delicacies including chocolates and mithai. This year, because of my work commitments, I won’t be able to travel to Kolkata for rakhi. I will be celebrating the festival virtually with my sister Reema Pawa. The pandemic has changed the way we look at life and even festivals I feel. At the same time, we should not let the virus bog us down and keep our spirits high. I would like to wish everyone a happy Raksha Bandhan and loads of fun and good health.

Sneh Binny: When I was a kid, I used to love cartoon rakhis and the bag in which mom used to get chocolate boxes to give my sisters after they tied the sacred thread around my wrist. I used to visit my cousin sisters and have around 18 rakhis on my hand and was super proud of flaunting them. I have one sister of my own, and she’s really special to me Palak . We are also like Tom & Jerry, annoying each other, but we always look out for each other. She got married in February this year and moved to Surat. So this rakhi she would not be in Mumbai and I would be flying out to Dubai this weekend for work. But, we already celebrated rakhi when we were travelling to Kerala as she and her husband were also with us on the trip.

Yamini Malhotra: Rakhi celebrations when we were kids were amazing. We used to go to my nani’s house and all the cousins used to have so much fun. We all used to wear the best of our Indian suits and kurtas. I am very close to all my maternal cousins. We are all one big gang who do a lot of masti and party together. We brothers and sisters are each other’s support system. We share our tensions, sorrows and pull each other up if any of us feels down. This rakhi I won’t be going to Delhi because of the shooting schedule. I will be celebrating my rakhi with my reel brother Omkar (Mridul Sinha, actor).

Chitra Vakil Sharma: Rakhi is a huge festival for the “Vakil family”. We have satyanarayan puja every year on that day and then we do the rakhi tying ceremony. I have only one brother, who is older than me. His name is Rahul Vakil. Every year rakhi has been very special and the get-together that we have with cousins is always fun. And every rakhi we create a memory, however the last rakhi will always be closest to my heart. I was in two minds whether to be a part of the celebrations or not due to Covid but then I decided I should and my brother was sleeping and I surprised him. We were so thrilled to see each other post the lockdown.

The post Small screen celebs get emotional talking about their plans for this year’s Raksha Bandhan! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.
