She thinks that shows on Indian TV have evolved. “Because of OTT, the number of television audience has gone down. I can see that now also when I’m doing the show, a lot of people watch shows on OTT only. You can also see a lot of shows which are too real on TV, so people will definitely make it a point to watch it. But yes, I will definitely agree with the point that because of OTT, TV target audience has gone down,” said the owner of the pet cafe The Pet Station in Andheri (West).

But at the same time, she is surprised to know that the younger generation also watches television shows. Also, a lot of people who are above 50 and 60 are watching young OTT shows as well. “I don’t think that age has anything to do with the kind of shows that are being made,” she said.

She watches TV at times. “I like watching comedy shows because I like to be happy. As for my work, I am part of a daily soap. I enjoy doing the drama show a lot because I’ve never been a part of a daily soap. So yes, it’s fun,” said Sneha.

“Diwali is a wonderful festival. It gets people together. Laxmi puja is a very auspicious occasion for all of us in India and we celebrate it with a lot of conviction. It’s a belief system. “It’s wonderful getting people together and enjoying the festival and praying. But, we should not be selfish while doing all of these. Animals, who are outside on the streets and also in our homes, really get affected by the sound of crackers. They get anxiety, panic and a lot of things related to crackers affect animals. Along with the sound, they go through a lot of chemical reactions because of the crackers, which is really harmful for the strays. It is our duty to be responsible and take care of the animals around us because if we don’t do that who will. All I want to say is be selfless and also be responsible and take care of the strays around you. One small moment that we initiate can actually help the pets to have a happy and safe life,” she adds.

It’s heartbreaking to see how crackers affect pets and strays, how they react to the sounds of crackers. “My own dog hides in the corner and sits quietly, panicking. We really don’t want to see them like that. So we personally take care of it and don’t use a lot of crackers, one or two phuljaris and some colorful ones. I’m sure there are chemical-free crackers, which are available in the market. Please look out for that,” she shares.

“I wanted to name my company after my dogs or something about them. I feel that whatever good happens in my life is because of them, their energies, and their blessings. Also, in the future, as I have always said that I want to start a dog shelter, and maybe that’s why they are supporting and helping me financially and mentally so that one day the dogs and I will have a huge happy home together. That is the vibe I and the dogs around me share. They are helping me in making my life better. For me, they are the most beautiful souls around me and what better than naming my company after them. I am glad to announce that I am producing my first project, a chat show titled Zindagi Reloaded and I am very excited about it. There are six celebrities and Ashna Dhanuka, the renowned lifestyle and confidence coach will be interviewing them. Krushna Abhishek is one of the actors in the project,” says Sneha, who started her journey in showbiz with Gumrah and was recently seen in the music video Main Jis Din Bhula Du by T-Series.

Revealing the concept of the chat show, she adds that the actors on the show are the ones whose journey would interest common people. “We want to send a message to commoners that even celebrities face struggles and their journey isn’t easy. The guest will perform a small stand-up, it would be like a prologue and then the chat show will start. It will be a question and answer session where the guests will be asked some questions about their life and how do they keep going in this real world. Then there is a quick rapid-fire round that will have both fun, interesting, and emotional questions,” adds the actor, who also runs a pet cafe and pet brand “The Pet Station”

So how will she manage acting, production, and pet café all at the same time? “I always want to do a lot of things in my life. I don’t want to sit idle, there’s just one life and I want to explore as much as I can. I am passionate about whatever work I take up. So yes, right now I am managing three things. My show Bade Acche Lagte Hai, my pet cafe, and my production house… I am trying my best to manage all three. Yes, I get very tired at the end of the day but I know this is all going to be worth it. My family’s support plays an important role in everything that I do. My mom and entire family help me a lot,” she shares.

Sneha says Multitasking has been a trait in her since she was a child. “I will carry it with me all my life. When life gives us so many opportunities, why to choose just one,” she ends.

“Many people don’t understand the value of pets and dogs in their lives because they don’t own one. Well, sometimes it is also true for those who own pets. I feel we don’t choose dogs/ pets, the pets choose us. That’s what is the most fortunate thing in your life. If a dog actually comes to your life, it’s a good thing,” says Sneha, who entered showbiz with Gumrah and was last seen in the music video Main Jis Din Bhula Du.

The actor adds that pets are a reflection of their owners. “They grow up to be like us. If we are anxious they get anxious. If we are sad they get sad. So I always try to be happy and smiling around them. I think everyone who can afford should have a pet. They help you understand the value of love, responsibility, and humanity,” she says.

Animal cruelty is the worst thing. ” It is not only being in human but that’s just being pathetic… For the betterment and welfare of animals, we could actually make donations. This money given to different NGOs and group working for the betterment of animals should also be made mandatory,” adds Sneha, who runs a popular pet cafe in Mumbai.
Explaining why she thinks the donation should be mandatory because along with those being adopted, those who aren’t and of course street animals also needs to be taken care of. She hopes the government will formulate policies to help these animals in the street.

“Apart from running a cafe, I will continue with my initiative towards feeding the strays,” the pet lover continues, “I know a lot of people are scared of dogs. I have nothing against them but if they could actually make an effort or get their fears out and start trusting dogs I am sure they would find out how harmless these animals are. There is nothing better than a dogs/pets love because it’s unconditional. Unlike humans, they don’t hold any complaints or grudges in their hearts. That’s what makes them what they are full of love, compassion, responsibility. Every family who has children should adopt a dog. They teach children companionship, makes them strong and responsible.”

Sneha also stresses on the vaccination of animals. “This again should be mandatory for every house that has a pet and if possible street animals can also be added to the list. Remember, when you give love, you get love,” she signs off.

For me, it’s a day when I remind myself that we are powerful, strong and free. My favourite freedom fighter is Bhagat Singh. He was a brave revolutionary. Whenever I read about him, I get goosebumps. Sure, I attend the flag hoisting ceremony. In fact, we all should. Though the flag is a belief system, for me it is my pride.

At the age of 23, he actually sacrificed his life for the country, and in our 20s, some of us get sad, depressed or think of ending our lives for a simple thing like a girl rejecting our proposal. To be able to express without any fear, to be able to understand people as an individual and their thoughts without any prejudice or biases, also defines independence. The very first name that comes to my mind when I think of freedom fighters is Vinayak Damodar Savarkar aka ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’. He was the Hero! He was a visionary! But I love these creations purely on creative grounds and keep listening to them every now and then. My love toward these songs is not restricted to just Independence Day or Republic Day. I love all the songs in the films, The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Border. My all-time favourite song has been Maa Tujhe salaam by A R Rahman.

Every home should have a pet. Sneha also adds that if there are young children or babies at home then having a pet can teach them a lot of things.

“Children grow up being affectionate and compassionate when they have the company of pets. A home that has a dog can never be sad. They are the funniest creatures and can bring a smile to your face even during the toughest times. They never leave your side and we should also do the same no matter what,” she says.

Speaking on animal cruelty and how the situation is in India, Sneha shares that a lot of NGOs and organisations working for the betterment of animals are coming forward to take action for every wrong act done against animals.

“All I want to say is we as humans need to understand and stop hurting animals. Every person on this earth needs to understand that animals are no less than humans. The only difference is that they can’t talk to us in our language. And, the only language they understand is love. There is no stray which has ever bitten me or growled at me because they know my intention isn’t to harm them. They are like this to everyone. We must safeguard animals in whatever way we can,” she adds.
