“I never expected to be in a Star Wars movie, but I’m delighted, and I am in love with Grogu,” Weaver says. “I’m afraid I have to let everybody know that he’s pretty special and so is the Mandalorian, and actually so is Jon Favreau. He runs a great set…a happy set.”

Known globally for her work in the Alien franchise, Weaver also reflected on how different the world of Star Wars feels compared to the darker sci-fi universe she is most associated with.

In the film, the evil Empire has fallen, but Imperial warlords remain scattered across the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, it enlists the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice, Grogu.
