Written and directed by #Abhijeet, Mumbai Local is produced by Big Brain Productions, Anandi Entertainment, and Splendid Productions. The film is backed by producers Nilesh Rathi, Prachi Raut, Sachin Agarwal, and Tanvi Maheshwari, with Tryambak Daga as the co-producer. The film is all set to hit theatres across Maharashtra on 1st August 2025.

Starring the fresh new pair of #PrathameshParab and #DnyanadaRamtirthkar in lead roles, the film narrates the story of two individuals—she, who seems to be losing everything in life, and he, who feels defeated at every step. Their eyes meet during a mundane local train commute, and a tender love story begins to unfold. The emotional and unpredictable events that follow form the core of this cinematic tale.

As the bond between the lead characters gradually strengthens, so does the intrigue in the trailer, keeping the audience curious and emotionally invested. The chemistry between the lead pair brings a refreshing angle, while a strong supporting cast ensures solid performances across the board. With powerful writing, impressive cinematography, and impactful music, the film promises to offer a wholesome cinematic experience.

Apart from Prathamesh and Dnyanada, Mumbai Local features Manmeet Pem, Prithvik Pratap, Vanita Kharat, Abhijeet Chavan, Aniket Kelkar, Sanjay Khapre, Sanjay Kulkarni, and Smita Dongre in significant roles.

The film’s cinematography is handled by Yogesh Koli, and editing by Swapnil Jadhav. Vinod Shinde serves as the Creative Director, while Dr. Sumit Patil has worked as the Art Director. Lyrics have been penned by Abhijeet Kulkarni and Abhijeet, with music composed by Dev & Ashish, Suchir Kulkarni, and Harshvardhan Wavare. The background score is by Sameer Saptiskar. Nikunj Malpani has contributed as Associate Producer, and Rahul Thombre has choreographed the dance sequences.

With an engaging storyline and emotional depth, Mumbai Local is all set to touch hearts when it releases on 1st August.

A new motion poster of ‘Nach Ga Ghuma’, a most awaited Marathi film produced by Hiranygarbh Manoranjan and directed by ace director Paresh Mokashi was released on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Dominated by the women in all spears of it, the film features a team of leading female actresses Mukta Barve, Namrata Sambherao, Sukanya Mone, Supriya Pathare with more women in other responsibilities. The poster has been getting rousing responses on social media creating curiosity among film lovers about the film. ‘Nach Ga Ghuma’ will be released across the state in May 2024.

The attractive slogans that appear in the poster in the background of melodious music establish the uniqueness of the film. ‘Every successful man has a woman behind him’, ‘Every successful woman has her maidservant behind her’, are attractive sentences that appear on poster helping depict the concept behind the story of the film.

The film is written by leading writer Madhugandha Kulkarni, and produced by Madhugandha Kulkarni, Paresh Mokashi, Swapnil Joshi, Sharmishtha Raut, Tejas Desai and Trupti Patil. The leading names from the Marathi film industry associated with the film, give assurance of the quality production.

“Every woman is a queen. But the queendom is propped up when there is a maid to play the role of fairy queen. The concept emerges in the poster which has Mukta Barve in the queen’s attire and Namrata Sambherao in the costume of fairy queen. They share the relations of a queen and fairy queen and give the feel of the jinn from the fairy tales. The filmgoers will have to wait till the release of the film to enjoy the real entertainment out of the unique concept,’ said ace actor Swapnil Joshi who has turned producer with this film.

The meaningful and melodious song in the background gives the sense of meritorious brains behind the making of the film. ‘Nach Ga Ghuma’ is a tribute to the womanhood which shoulders the responsibility of their own homes, while taking care of the houses of the others.

Director Paresh Mokashi said, “The shooting of this most awaited film has been completed recently. Everybody is waiting for its release. We are presenting the motion poster of the film to give a fair idea of the design and subject of the story. We have woven many minute details related to the women in the script to ensure the uniqueness of womanhood is projected subtly. The story has been accurately woven witty and daily life incidents in the screenplay to ensure entertainment, without touching the dignity of womanhood. At the same time, it also highlights how women are a perfect blend of merit and emotions.,” he added.

Speaking about the making of the film, Madhugandha Kulkarni said, “We had invited Sharmishtha, Tejas, and Swapnil for the narration of the film. They were left in splits during the reading of the screenplay. When director Paresh told Swapnil Joshi that he had no role to play in the film, he replied, “Then should I be in the role of the producer”. Thus, the team that had gathered for the narration of the film turned into its producers.”

Producer Sharmishtha Raut said, “We enjoyed the making of the film a lot. It has emerged as much superior a film than we had imagined. The off-beat film has been handled with similar sincerity by the director. The leading actors in the films have proven icing on the cake.”

‘1 OTT’, India’s Mobile TV has launched its Marathi platform with multiple contents of different genres as its launch fiesta. Apart from the Blind Date, the web series directed by noted director Samir Patil, the ‘1OTT’ will have Kirtan Naad, hit Marathi films from the decades 1980 and 1990 as its launching bouquet. The platform will also broadcast short films made by Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International students. All this stuff will be telecast free of cost for the audience.

The founder members of 1 OTT visited Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi on the occasion of the launch of the platform. Leading actor Swapnil Joshi is the founder and Brand Face of the platform. It has been supported by a noted name in DTL activation Vinayak Satpute with founder members Venkatesh Shrinivasan, Rajiv Jani, leading banker Satish Utekar and noted name in entertainment industry Chetan Maniar.

The platform will prove the OTT of India by telecasting films and series in regional languages including Hindi, Marathi, Bengali among others.

Blind Date has been written by leading writers Manaswini Lata Ravindra and Apoorv Saathe. The ten-part web series features talented actors like Vishakha Subhedar, Saurabh Ghadge, Hemangi Kavi, Abhijit Khandkekar, Rupali Bhosale, Spruha Joshi, Hemant Dhome, Subrat Joshi, Puja Thombre, Bhagyarshri Limaye, Sayli Sanjeev, Gashmeer Mahajani among others. It is being telecast free of cost.

All the audience needs to do is download of 1 OTT, the mobile TV of India from their Google Play Store or App Store to watch the content on the platform. The multi-language platform has been created with the sole intention of giving entertainment of a class available to the people free of cost,” said Puneet Kelkar, COO, of 1OTT.

Noted actress Tanvi Palav has done compering for Kirtan Naad, which will feature leading kirtankaars, the performers of kirtan, in the program. The OTT platform will also telecast hit Marathi films from 1980s and 1990s. The short films produced by the students of Whistling Woods International, which is founded by noted Director and Producer Subhash Ghai, will be added attraction to the platform.

Amazon Prime Video today announced the global release of the Marathi horror thriller Bali, starring one of Marathi cinema’s most revered actors Swapnil Joshi, along with Pooja Sawant and Samarth Jadhav. Helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Furia, (Lapachhapi and its recent Hindi remake, Amazon Original Movie Chhorii), and produced by Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar’s Global Sports Entertainment and Media Solutions Private Limited, Bali is set to premiere on Prime Video on 9 December in India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Bali is about the life of a widowed, middle-class father, Shrikant, played by Swapnil Joshi, which takes an unexpected turn when his 7-year-old son Mandar, played by Samarth Jadhav, collapses and is referred to a Jan Sanjeevani hospital for a detailed diagnosis. Things change when Mandar starts talking to a mysterious nurse, who he claims is staying in the abandoned part of the hospital.

Samantar became a hit with more than 200 million views in its first season. The season won applause in the form of many awards including Best Regional Web Series award at E4m Awards. Season 2 is going to have a slice of more thrill added to it as Kumar’s fight continues and a pinch of glamour comes in with the presence of Sai Tamhankar. The first season of Samantar, which is based on great Marathi writer Suhas Shirwalkar’s novel with the same name, was a great success. Kumar Mahajan finds out that his life is already lived by a person named Sudarshan Chakrapani, and then he decides to find him to know his future. The second season with Nitish Bhardwaj playing a lead character has created buzz among the viewers and is being eagerly awaited by them. Swapnil Joshi’s lead role in the first season was widely appreciated by the viewers and his own fans.

Swwpnil Joshi, who has been a part of the industry for three decades now, says that the second season of Samantar is going to break earlier records due to its production qualities thanks to the producers. “I have been associated with Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartik D Nishandar of GSEAMS for years now and have developed an emotional bonding with them. The most adorable quotient about them and the production house is the value for quality and innovations. They never compromise on quality and are open to new ideas. They give full freedom to their actors to evolved best out of them. The second season is testimony to it and I am sure, it’s going to be an all time hit,” Swwapnil said.

Talking about his role in Samantar-2, the actor said, “After spending so many years in the industry, I think I have reached a stage where I can take chances. I’d like to calculate risks. I am dying to explore new genres in Marathi cinema. This is the best phase of my career. I have begun a new phase in the past couple of years where I am doing projects which people are asking me not to. I am deliberately trying to throw the shackles off of the image barrier. People tell me that I am a successful romantic hero so I should continue playing such characters. But I want to challenge myself. I want to work on a project like Samantar. It has brought me so much love and adulation that probably ten of my romantic films wouldn’t have.”

Swapnil Joshi and Nitish Bhardwaj are great actors of their era and both are household names with their roles of lord Krishna played in two different TV serials decades ago. Nitish played the role of Krishna in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat (1988),while Swapnil portrayed Krishna in Ramanand Sagar’s Shri Krishna (1993).

“Samantar was our first web series produced for the Marathi audience which is an ardent lover of literature. One of its kind series in Marathi, Samantar’s first season had leading actors from the industry in key roles in the series. The outstanding success of the first season, we are coming with an even greater star cast in its second season.
