Talking about how the two met, she says, “I met Tanvi Dogra during the show Santoshi Maa, I was playing the negative lead the role of her husband’s second wife. It was still my first day, and I hadn’t met Tanvi yet, but during lunchtime, she invited me. She called me to her room, saying, ‘Dharti, let’s have lunch together.’ I thought, ‘What kind of girl is she? We haven’t even met yet, and she’s inviting me to lunch in her room. It feels a bit weird.’ But I decided to go.

We didn’t know that my perception would change so much that she and I would become like sisters from friends. We didn’t even realise it ourselves. Over time, we supported each other, and we’ve seen each other in each other’s best and worst moments. I can only say that a loyal sister is worth a thousand friends.”

She adds, “She is like a confidence booster, a motivator, a source of strength, and she understands all I need in my moments. When Tanvi is around me, I can’t help but smile because her nature is so genuine. She’s so adorable, really. I mean, in this era, how can someone be so innocent, so kind? And being around her changes me.”

A mood changer, confidence booster, Dhartti says that Tanvi is very special for her. “I I feel happy as soon as I talk to her, and if something’s bothering me, she instantly changes my mood. She’s always motivating, like she’s my guide. And I’m telling you, she’s a real motivator. In life, sometimes you feel like you can conquer everything when you wake up. And they always know when to give each other space, in any situation, on any sad or happy situation and she’s like a gift to my heart, actually, a gift to me. We fight and argue but we also create the best memories. There’s nothing quite like the bond between sisters,” she says.

She adds, “Even after the show, we used to joke that I went from being a co-wife to a close friend. From a close friend to a best friend, and from a best friend to sisters. Because having two sisters is different. You have a different confidence in yourself when you have two sisters because you know your sister won’t judge you. So, when I’m with Tanvi, I remain myself. I don’t need to change, and Tanvi doesn’t need to either. When we’re together, the sister bond is unique. I think you can always share your heart with your sister quite easily. Even on days when it’s 3:00 in the night, I’ll call Tanvi, she’ll answer and listen to all my talks comfortably. She’ll provide solutions too. There’s this thing where a sister guides you, and she’s always been there for me.”

Talking about their relationship, she says, “As for our relationship, I can only tell you one thing. If you’ve seen the TV show Friends, Monica and Rachel. So, Tanvi is like Rachel, and I’m Monica. Because I have a lot of Monica-like qualities, and Tanvi is completely Rachel. So yes, we’re always there for each other, and this is the best sister bond. I’m really happy that I found Tanvi. I’m really blessed.”

One day when Satyavan was resting under a Banyan tree, he suddenly passed away. When Yamraj came to take away his soul, Savitri stood against it. Yamraj, in exchange for her husband’s soul, granted her three wishes one after another; redeeming her third wish, she asked for a child with Satyavan, and he granted it. Stunned with the witty response and the love she had for her husband, the God of death himself restored Satyavan’s life. This narrative is a strong example of perseverance and courage. Savitri’s tale continues to inspire women to stay strong and have belief in themselves.”

Sharing more on the fast rituals, Tanvi Dogra, Swati of & TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein, says, “On this occasion, women listen and narrate the Vat Savitri Katha. She observes fast and dresses in bridal attire while offering prayers to the Banyan Tree by tying a red or yellow coloured thread around it. It lasts for four days, where fruits can be consumed in the first three days and on the fourth-day post offering water to the moon, the women break their fast.”

According to another theory, Lord Shiva had performed the divine dance of creation, preservation and destruction on the night which is called Mahashivratri.” Talking about the celebrations.

Tanvi Dogra aka Swati shares, “On the day of the festival, devotees rise early, take a bath and wear new clothes. They clean the temple area and offer fruits and milk along with flowers, belpatra and dhatura to the Shivalinga. I looked back multiple times only to find out that I was alone on the dark lonely street with no sign of anyone else. I can still remember that the feeling was so real and spooky that it sends shivers down my spine even today.”

“When I was in school, we often visited my native place during festivals and all of us, the bacha party group as my mother would call would often gather and talk about ghost encounters, they have seen or heard. Post one such session, I was heading back home chatting with a friend only to realise that I was walking alone. At that time, my friends and I often spent time playing in the lush green fields. Our elders had warned us to not wander around the field area post-sunset as people have experienced eerie incidents. One such evening while watching a cricket tournament we got very late, so we rushed towards our cycles to get back home. One of us saw a black shadow in the grassland next to the narrow pathway, and we all could sense someone’s presence. That day and today, I avoid being around the fields post-sunset.”

Yogesh Tripathi (Daroga Happu Singh) from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan shares, “While touring for my theatre plays across the country, we often rehearsed in local theatres before our actual performance. I would always be before time and wait for others to join. That day too, I reached half an hour early and started rehearsing my lines. When I delivered my first dialogue, I heard someone murmur at the back of the stage. Initially, I thought it would be the light men or cleaning staff; hence I did not pay much heed to it. After a couple of minutes, I heard the same noise again, petrified I walked up to check only to realise that there was no one backstage. I immediately made my way out of the theatre and waited for everyone to reach.”

Says Sambhavna Seth (Mahua), “People often see me meditating with Candy, Coco and Cherry my furry babies and doubt my sanity, but animals too have mental health issues. Loud noises, inhumane behaviour, or even small fights in the household causes trauma in them. Hence, I take utmost care to rinse off the negativity and pamper them with lots of love. Animals cannot express themselves as openly as humans; therefore, we need to be sensitive to their emotional and mental needs.”

Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma) adds, “Arya and I have been inseparable, but during my treatment, I had no option but to leave my baby at home. Though there were few hiccups initially, many people stepped in to take care of Arya. But when I returned home, she slept by my side and did not leave me alone. Animals too need utmost care, love, and affection, just like humans, and their welfare is of utmost importance, especially in their parents’ absence.”

Nirbhay Wadhwa (Maharaj Bali) comments, “Being a parent to a pet is a big responsibility, and their health and wellness are extremely crucial. I ensure routine check-ups, physical fitness, and a healthy diet for Thor. Animals’ love is so pure and unconditional. As humans, we need to be sensitive to all forms of animals and species around us. It pains me to see when people discriminate and treat animals inhumanly, which needs to stop, and the laws need to be stricter.”

Tanvi Dogra (Swati) adds, “I love my baby Oscar, and I can go to any extent to see him happy and playful. But what hurts me is the fact that there are so many strays who need a safe place, care, and affection, but are often neglected. During the lockdown, many many animals were left to fend for themselves and died of hunger. Animals too are living beings, and their welfare is paramount. As a community, we need to become more sensitive and even sensitise others on animals needs and welfare.”
