“Dhokha Round D Corner” director Kookie Gulati says, “The intention was to create a film true to itself”!

After the success of “#TheBigBull,” director Kookie Gulati ventured into a new genre with his film, “#DhokhaRoundDCorner.” This psychological thriller features a stellar cast, including R. Madhavan, Aparshakti Khurana, Darshan Kumaar, and newcomer Khushalii Kumar. Set in a confined house environment, the film weaves a complex narrative filled with surprising twists and turns, keeping audiences guessing about the true hero and heroine. “Dhokha Round D Corner” showcases Gulati’s versatility and ability to craft compelling stories across different genres.

Kookie Gulati started his career in the early 2000s, primarily directing music videos. He was closely associated with Tips Films and played a significant role in launching artists like Jazzy B and Atif Aslam. He has also worked with various prominent names such as Mika Singh, Daler Mehndi, and Stereo Nation. Over the years, Gulati has directed over 300 music videos, including several film songs and promotional trailers.

Director Kookie Gulati shares his experience working with the cast, he says, “The casting for Dhokha was crucial and very challenging. I needed four people for the film, and if you’ve seen it, you can’t tell who the hero or heroine is because it keeps changing. There were certain surprise elements and specific demands for filming in a house setting. Even if I had Shah Rukh Khan in the film, I would have still shot it in the house.”

He further added, “The story was unchangeable for me. The script dictated its own needs, not mine. The intention was to create a film true to itself. During that time, I met Bhushanji, who loved the story and script, and his team supported it too. We signed the film, but then Covid happened, causing chaos. Amidst this, I got a call from them saying Maddy and Khushalii were supposed to do a film that didn’t materialize, and they asked if I would like to narrate to them. I always wanted Maddy to play the husband’s character. I had approached him with Dhokha in 2017 but couldn’t put it together then due to lack of backing. But when I heard Maddy was interested, I was thrilled because he’s a superstar. Meeting Khushalii, I realized her immense hunger and wanted a new face for the female role to maintain mystery. Her casting felt phenomenal. Aparshakti ‘s casting was a real challenge as well because we had never seen him play a character like the one in Dhokha.”

“Dhokha Round D Corner” achieved impressive success on Netflix, reaching the number 6 spot worldwide and securing the number 2 position in India after its OTT release.

Director Kookie Gulati has an impressive background in the film industry, having worked as an Associate Director on popular films like Ishq Vishk and Fida. He made his directorial debut with the feature film Prince, starring Vivek Oberoi, and later served as Creative Director for the comedy hit Total Dhamaal. The Big Bull director is currently busy with the development of his new project and will commence shooting soon.

Ever since Kookie Gulati directorial The Big Bull has been released, the audience has gone head over heels with the character of ‘Hemant Shah’ played by Junior Bachchan. Based on the story of a stock market scam that happened in the early 90s, Abhishek played the character of an iconic stockbroker from BSE. Impressed by his performance in the film, Abhishek was invited to speak in virtual guest lectures by several business management schools across the country.

At the session arranged by the Young Indians organization at the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) and the Indian School of Business, the actor floored all the attendees with his punctuality and his lovely nature.

Talking about the trends in the investments, the actor revealed that he himself is a keen stock market investor. Although he enjoys doing it, the actor is also cautious about the same. Abhishek also shared his views on Cryptocurrency and said, “The idea itself is quite exciting for any forward-thinking person, and I am intrigued by it.”

Known for his generosity and compassionate nature, Abhishek did not forget to express his love for Aalu Bhujiya in front of Haldiram’s young director Avin Agarwal who was one of the panelists.

Furthermore, the star also spoke at length about the growth of sports and the business of cinema. The actor’s experiences about various subjects made the sessions insightful and informative.

On the work front, Abhishek Bachchan has recently finished shooting for his film ‘Dasvi’ and holds an exciting lineup for this year.

Sohum Shah has wrapped up shooting for his next- The Big Bull, the actor announced in a post on his social media. After a break of close to eight months due to the worldwide corona outbreak, actor Sohum Shah has finally wrapped up his shoot for his next alongside Abhishek Bachchan, The Big Bull. Shah recently also shared that the studio he was shooting at for the last few days was the same location where he and his team had captured some of his cult film, Tumbbad’s most iconic scenes.

Announcing the wrap on his Instagram, the actor-filmmaker wrote, “And it’s a WRAP!

After an 8 month break, we’ve finally finished shooting for #TheBigBull! Mujhe shoot khatam hone ki khushi bhi hai aur dukh bhi. Khushi iss baat ki hai ki abhi aap sab ko film dekhne ko milega, but I am going to miss working with this amazing team, especially @kookievgulati and @bachchan. Milte hai jald hi aapke screens par!”

Produced by Ajay Devgn, directed by Kookie Gulati and co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Ileana D’Cruz, The Big Bull is expected to have a major release on one of the countries biggest OTT platforms at the end of 2020. ‘The Big Bull’ producer Anand Pandit welcomes Covid-survivor Abhishek Bachchan on the sets

Veteran Producer Anand Pandit welcomed lead actor Abhishek Bachchan back on the sets of his biographical crime saga, The Big Bull after nearly a six months break. The super pace thriller had barely a few days of shoot remaining when the country went under a lockdown.

But the six months seems to have tested everyone’s faith and patience when actor Abhishek Bachchan tested positive for Covid-19 and spent nearly a month in the hospital before recovering fully. Abhishek was discharged in August and now has joined the cast and crew of The Big Bull to shoot his portions so that the film can reach the finishing line this month. Producer Anand Pandit has deployed additional measures to keeps the sets sanitised and secure.

An excited Anand Pandit says, “The aim is to finish the film’s patch work by mid October. Abhishek is a good-natured trooper and is going out of his way to accommodate us despite having battled Covid-19. He is thankfully totally healthy now and as enthusiastic as ever. It is a blessing to have him as our lead star.”

A team player, Abhishek wants to ensure that everyone on sets is totally safe. In his own way trying to help the producers fine-tune the sanitisation and safety measures on set. Not to mention that he has not made any special requests for himself.

“We would rather err on the side of caution and so we are Covid proofing every inch of our sets. We have a team of Covid-19 watchdogs supervising everything and there is always at least one expert available to us at any given time.”, Say Pandit

Pandit says, he and his cast and crew have not let any temporary setback define the experience of making The Big Bull. He says, “This has been a rewarding journey despite the occasional delays and with Abhishek back on sets, we are all even more energised and motivated than before.”

As producer Anand Pandit and his team gear up for the final schedule of ‘The Big Bull’, one crucial category has been added to the preparations, that of Covid-19 watchdogs. This will be a group of medical experts who will screen and monitor the sets to make sure that all the necessary safeguards are in place.

Pandit explains why this was important, “I am concerned about the health of my cast and crew. At no point will the safety of my unit take a backseat during shooting. These Covid-19 experts will watch over every health precaution being taken on the sets.”

Anand Pandit and his crew are yet to wrap up Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘The Big Bull’ which will release on OTT platform Disney Hotstar later this year. Junior Bachchan had earlier tested positive for Covid-19, has recovered, and will soon start shooting.

Pandit is eager to get back into the swing of things and says, “The industry has to get back on its feet and hence shootings have resumed but we cannot slip at all when it comes to guarding ourselves against the virus. I am looking forward to finishing the shoot of ‘The Big Bull’ but at no point, will there be any compromise as far as the well-being of any artiste or technician is concerned .”

The film unit will strictly adhere to guidelines like wearing masks and face shields. There will be sanitisation tunnels at all entry points, all surfaces will be sanitized and everyone will have to wash their hands at fixed intervals. Pandit will also restrict the number of visitors, regulate the movement on the set, and try to finish the remaining schedule at one go so that the pitfalls of traveling during the pandemic can be avoided.

Anand Pandit doesn’t have qualms about digital releases

The debate over OTT versus a theatrical release in the current pandemic is far from over. Given that opening of movie halls did not figure in any ‘unlocking’ versions so far, the talk of re-releasing OTT films in the theatre has gained momentum and producers have begun to mull over two platform releases. Veteran producer Anand Pandit who took a brave decision to release his much-talked about Abhishek Bachchan starrer The Big Bull on OTT says it is fine to have two releases of a movie. “It does not have to be a choice between OTT or theatre, it can be both,” says veteran producer Anand Pandit.

He adds, “It is subject to the understanding the producer has with the OTT player and theatre owner and the agreement drawn up. If it is mutually decided to have a theatre release after an OTT one, why should there be a concern. The film’s content, cast and quality can act as a decider for the same – it is not difficult to gauge which film suits an OTT or a theatre or both. And there is also the international markets to explore given that much of Europe, other parts of Asia and Australia have begun unlocking at a rapid pace.”

There were talks that theatres in some cities would open in September, but since that has not happened, OTT is going to continue to rule the roost. Thanks to the pandemic, multistarers and big budget films have also been designed for an OTT viewership, in the belief that entertainment should not suffer. However even if theatres were to re-open, the general fear and social distancing norms in the theatre may just about rob viewers of a true theatre experience and incur additional losses to theatre owners.
