Anil Ravipudi, known for his light-hearted and humour-infused filmmaking style, shared some amusing insights about Venkatesh’s on-set quirks. “Venky Sir hesitates only at food,” joked Anil. Rana, always quick on his feet, chimed in, “I noticed he’ll not get angry, but gets ‘Hangry’.” Recalling a Mumbai schedule with his uncle, Rana revealed how he managed to diffuse a tense moment when an extended shoot cut into lunch. The usually calm Victory V was close to losing his cool when Rana quickly intervened with a well-timed lunch break!

The conversation then shifted to Sankranthiki Vasthunam, with Venkatesh recounting with a smile, “I was slapped by Aishwarya Rajesh’s character multiple times.” Aishwarya, known for her candid sense of humour, cheekily asked, “Sir, has anybody hit you like that before?” to which Venkatesh hilariously responded, “This is my first experience.” Aishwarya further revealed, “I did slap him very tightly in the film. When I asked if that was painful, Venky sir told me to go on and slap harder, but do it in one take.” The camaraderie among the cast was evident, with hearty laughter and mutual respect shining through each anecdote.

The episode kicks off with #SandeepReddyVanga and #Navdeep hailing Upendra’s fearless approach to cinema in a special introductory video. Navdeep compares Upendra to Animal’s titular character and dubs him as “the OG real wild animal.” *Sandeep Reddy Vanga also heaps praise on him, adding, “He made Om when he was just 22. He was the youngest director in the country at that time. His screenplay felt like a film within a film.”* The conversation then transitions to Upendra’s early years, as he sheds light on the struggles and creativity born out of humble beginnings.

*Upendra recalls, “I lived in a very tiny house. To earn some money, I made paper covers and sold them to fruit vendors. That’s when I started writing. I approached a director as a writer, and he made me his AD. From there, I moved to becoming a co-director, then director, and finally acting in my own films.”*

*Reflecting on his personal journey and experiences with love and marriage, Upendra delivers a thought-provoking confession. He admits, “Marriage is a great institution. It is so good. I deceived you all by delivering lines like: ‘There is no love. Love is trash.’ Many of you followed it, but very quietly, I got married. I wanted to find out whether there was any truth to what I said. After experiencing it, I am fixed now.” One of the most fascinating moments of the episode unfolds when Upendra reminisces about adding an unexpected twist to a love scene in his 2002 film Super Star. He recounts, “During my trip to Thailand, I saw a tiger and wrote a love scene around it.”*

Rishabh reflects on the origins of Kantara, revealing how the film is intertwined with his home and community. “Since childhood, I have dreamt of shooting a film in my village and its forests, Keradi. I scouted this location for multiple movies, but it never worked out. Then came Kantara — which was finally shot here. It was a collective effort, over 700 people from the village contributed. It’s because of this overwhelming involvement that I call my home KFC – Keradi Film City.”

He added how Kantara has shifted his village’s perception of cinema, stating, “This region isn’t huge on films, but Kantara made them see their own on screen. It became relatable, and the love and blessings poured in abundantly.”

The conversation then steered towards their take on popular directors, which made him share his admiration for filmmakers like #SandeepReddyVanga, known for massive blockbuster movies like #ArjunReddy and #Animal. Highlighting how, despite falling into mass controversies, directors like Vanga have a huge fan following, Rishab said, “It’s crazy, nobody can think like him, and I think even he can’t think the same way again. I’d love to be involved in any projects he’s currently working on.”

In a heartfelt moment during the episode, Rishabh’s wife, #PragathiShetty, recounts the touching story of how they first met, “I’m a Rakshit Shetty fan, so I went to a Ricky screening with my friends. One of them wanted a picture with the director, Rishabh, so we spoke. And I told him how proud I was of his journey—from a small village to achieving so much in cinema. That’s when he fell for me! He sent me a friend request on social media, and that’s where it all started.”
