In Marathi society, abuses invoking one’s mother, sister or other family members have, over time, become an almost casual part of everyday language. Often used without a second thought, these words are dismissed as harmless expressions of anger, frustration, friendship or bravado. But what happens when we pause to examine what lies beneath them? What do these words mean to the person on the receiving end, and why have we normalised language that can carry such deep emotional and cultural implications? Two-time National Award-winning filmmaker Sujay S. Dahake’s Tujhya Aaila takes this seemingly ordinary aspect of social behaviour and turns it into the central subject of a sharply observed and thought-provoking drama.

The film follows Avinash Deshpande (Soham Babar), a city-bred boy who moves with his family to a remote village near Satara. At his new school, Avinash encounters a peculiar local ritual of verbal sparring, where students use abusive language as part of a competitive game. What initially appears to be harmless fun gradually becomes a clash of egos, exposing the emotional consequences of words that are routinely used without considering their meaning or impact. Through Avinash’s experiences, the film introduces us to a fascinating set of characters, including his parents Arun Deshpande (Abhijit Thite) and Asmita Deshpande (Rajshri Deshpande), his grandmother (Rohini Hattangadi), school teacher (Sambhaji Bagat), Dattaji (Pramod Pawar), Bhamabai (Anuya Kalaskar-Baiche), Chand (Jaid Shaikh), Devya (Hrishikesh Wankhede), Khandya (Abhishek Zhende), Vetal/Khandya’s father (Janardan Kadam) and Narya (Malhar Dandage). The performances give the rural setting an organic quality, while Soham Babar effectively anchors the narrative through Avinash’s journey of discovery and confrontation.

At just 1 hour and 24 minutes, Tujhya Aailaremains remarkably focused. Niyaz Mujawar’s screenplay does not over-explain its central idea; instead, it allows the characters and situations to gradually reveal the social and emotional layers behind the language. The dialogues are particularly significant because the film’s subject demands authenticity without turning the abusive language into mere shock value. Sujay Dahake’s direction maintains this delicate balance, transforming a seemingly simple schoolyard ritual into a larger commentary on social conditioning, ego and the power of words. Vijay Mishra’s cinematography captures the textures of rural Maharashtra with an observational quality, while Aashya Gatade’s editing keeps the narrative crisp and purposeful. Saket Kanetkar’s background score and Varun Likhate’s music complement the film without overpowering its central theme.

What makes Tujhya Aaila stand out is the courage to build an entire drama around something that many people encounter every day but rarely stop to question. Dahake does not simply tell us that words can hurt; he makes us look at why certain words have become normalised in the first place. The film’s strength lies in turning a familiar social habit into an uncomfortable yet engaging cinematic conversation.

Tujhya Aaila is ultimately less about abuses and more about the meaning we attach to words—and the responsibility that comes with using them.

National Award-winning filmmaker Sujay Dahake returns with another bold and thought-provoking story in his upcoming Marathi film ‘#TujhyaAaila’. Known for his distinctive storytelling and socially relevant cinema through acclaimed films such as ‘Shala’ and ‘Shyamchi Aai’, Dahake now turns his lens towards an issue so deeply embedded in everyday life that most of us no longer notice it—verbal violence.

The trailer of ‘Tujhya Aaila’ was unveiled today, offering a powerful glimpse into a film that questions not just the words we speak, but the culture we have normalised.

At first glance, the title ‘Tujhya Aaila’ is startling. But beyond its provocative name lies a deeply emotional and socially relevant narrative. Reinforced by its intriguing tagline, “It’s not a swear word. It’s the name of a game,” the film explores how abusive language has gradually become a part of everyday conversation, often without anyone questioning its emotional consequences.

The trailer asks a simple yet unsettling question: When did abuse become a language we stopped hearing?

A mother is universally regarded as a symbol of love, care and respect. Yet, her identity is casually invoked in everyday insults, exposing a contradiction that forms the emotional core of the film. Through this powerful premise, ‘Tujhya Aaila’ examines how repeated verbal abuse quietly shapes behaviour, relationships and, most importantly, the emotional development of children. Rather than offering easy answers, the film invites audiences to reflect on the true weight of the words they use every day.

Set against the backdrop of rural Maharashtra, the film beautifully blends childhood innocence, nostalgia, friendships and playful memories with the darker reality of language and its hidden scars. What begins as a seemingly simple childhood game gradually unfolds into an emotionally layered exploration of values, social conditioning and the changing culture of communication.

Bringing together an accomplished cast and exceptionally talented child artistes, ‘Tujhya Aaila’ promises both emotional authenticity and cinematic depth. With its unconventional title, fearless subject matter and Sujay Dahake’s signature storytelling, the film is poised to become one of the most compelling Marathi films of the year—one that aims not only to entertain but also to spark meaningful conversations long after the credits roll.

‘Tujhya Aaila’ is produced by #KumarMangatPathak, #AbhishekPathak and #MurlidharChhatwani under Panorama Studios; Suunil Jaiin and Aditya Joshi under Cult Digital; and Rajesh Singh under Prakash Films. The film is co-produced by Sushant Vengurlekar, Mohit Aroora and Meghana Pramanik.

The film features Rajshri Deshpande, Rohini Hattangadi, Sambhaji Bhagat, Abhijit Thite, Soham Babar and Abhishek Zende, alongside a talented ensemble of child artistes.

‘Tujhya Aaila’ releases in theatres across Maharashtra on September 25.

The makers of ‘#TujhyaAaila’ have unveiled the film’s latest track, “Bagad Bagad”, a heartfelt celebration of childhood, friendship and the unforgettable memories of growing up. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sujay Dahake, the film is produced under the strategic partnership of Panorama Studios, Cult Digital and Prakash Films, and is slated for a theatrical release across Maharashtra on September 25.

More than just a song, “Bagad Bagad” serves as an emotional turning point in the narrative. Sung by singer-composer Avdhoot Gupte, written by lyricist Mandar Cholkar, and composed by acclaimed music director Varun Likhate, the track blends evocative lyrics with an uplifting melody that perfectly captures the innocence and energy of adolescence. ‘Bagad Bagad…’, has been released to the audience under the Zee Music label.

Opening with the poignant lines, “Jitha Jitha Gelas Tu, Umatla Tuzha Thasa…”, the song revisits cherished moments of school life—playground games, carefree adventures, friendships, rivalries, first separations and the bonds that shape one’s identity. Its recurring refrain, “Unad Dupari Bagad Bagad…”, instantly transports listeners back to lazy summer afternoons spent roaming the neighbourhood without a care in the world.

Shot in natural light across realistic locations, the song mirrors the authenticity that defines Sujay Dahake’s storytelling. The visuals not only recreate the spirit of childhood but also offer glimpses of the traditional game that lends the film its title, adding another layer of curiosity to the narrative.

Avdhoot Gupte’s energetic vocals bring Mandar Cholkar’s nostalgic words to life, while Varun Likhate’s melodious composition elevates the emotional impact, making Bagad Bagad a song that is both instantly memorable and deeply relatable.

Tujhya Aaila is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Muralidhar Chhatwani under Panorama Studios; Suunil Jaiin and Aditya Joshi under Cult Digital; and Rajesh Singh under Prakash Films. The film is co-produced by Sushant Vengurlekar, Mohit Aroora and Meghana Pramanik.

The film stars Rajshri Deshpande, Rohini Hattangadi, Sambhaji Bhagat, Abhijit Thite, Soham Babar and Abhishek Zende, alongside a talented ensemble of child artistes.

With Bagad Bagad already resonating with audiences for its emotional warmth and nostalgic appeal, Tujhya Aaila continues to build anticipation ahead of its theatrical release on September 25.

The teaser of the upcoming Marathi film ‘Tujhya Aaila’, produced under the strategic partnership between Panorama Studios, Cult Digital and Prakash Films, was recently unveiled by popular actress #AmrutaKhanvilkar. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sujay Dahake, the film is scheduled to release in theatres across Maharashtra on September 25.

Unveiling the teaser, Amruta Khanvilkar praised Sujay Dahake’s distinctive storytelling and the film’s intriguing premise.

Speaking about the teaser, Amruta said, “The first glimpse of any Sujay Dahake film always comes with a sense of intense curiosity. You hit play on the teaser, and within 10 seconds, you’re completely sucked into his world—a world where he is unabashedly and unapologetically himself. That’s exactly what I felt watching Tujhya Aaila. The teaser is right in your face. It doesn’t shy away, hide, or hold back from telling you what this film is about. And somehow, that honesty is what makes it so intriguing. So get ready to be on the edge of your seats, because Tujhya Aaila feels like it’s going to take you straight back to a piece of your childhood—raw, nostalgic, chaotic and deeply familiar.”

Known for acclaimed films such as ‘Shala’ and ‘Shyamchi Aai’, Dahake takes a bold and unconventional approach with ‘Tujhya Aaila’, exploring a socially relevant subject through a unique narrative. The filmmaker aims to spark conversations around the impact of verbal abuse and the normalisation of abusive language in everyday life.

Without revealing the film’s central mystery, the teaser leaves viewers intrigued about the nature of the game and the message behind it. The film’s tagline, “Shivi nay, khelach naav hay te” (It’s not an abuse, it’s the name of the game), reinforces its central theme.

Speaking about the film, director Sujay Dahake said, “I have always been fascinated and troubled by verbal abuse. Today, it has become normalised in our culture, yet its impact runs deep. Particularly when such words are used in reference to mothers, who embody love and respect for us, it raises questions about the roots of such language. Through this film, I want to initiate a conversation—both offline and online—about the power of words and the harm they can cause.”

‘Tujhya Aaila’ is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Muralidhar Chhatwani under Panorama Studios; Suunil Jaiin, Aditya Joshi under Cult Digital; and Rajesh Singh under Prakash Films. Sushant Vengurlekar, Mohit Aroora and Meghana Pramanik serve as co-producers.

The film features Rajshri Deshpande, Rohini Hattangadi, Sambhaji Bhagat, Abhijit Thite, Soham Babar and Abhishek Zende in pivotal roles, along with a talented ensemble of child artistes.

Strengthening its focus on regional cinema, Panorama Studios has joined hands with Cult Digital and Prakash Films to co-produce and release two ambitious Marathi films by two-time National Award-winning filmmaker Sujay Dahake — ‘Tujhya AaiLa’ and ‘RaktaPhal’.

Both films have completed principal photography and are currently in post-production, with promotional campaigns set to begin soon. The films are scheduled for theatrical releases between September 2026 and March 2027. The collaboration further expands Panorama Studios’ regional content slate while bringing together established industry expertise and emerging creative voices to support original Marathi stories with strong theatrical potential.

Leading the collaboration is ‘Tujhya AaiLa’, an emotionally driven drama directed by Sujay Dahake. The film is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Murlidhar Chhatwani of Panorama Studios; Suniil Jaiin, Aditya Joshi and Mohit Aroora of Cult Digital; and Rajesh Singh of Prakash Films. Meghana Pramanik serves as the co-producer. Featuring acclaimed performers Rajshri Deshpande, Sambhaji Bhagat and Rohini Hattangadi, the film is set to arrive in cinemas on 25 September 2026.

The second film, ‘RaktaPhal’, is a contemporary, youth-focused fantasy-comedy-thriller that explores the emotional conflicts and contradictions of today’s generation. Featuring Upendra Limaye, Amruta Khanvilkar, Gauri Nalawade, Ketaki Kulkarni, Mayur More of ‘Kota Factory’ fame, and popular influencer Aditya Thackeray, the film unfolds against the vibrant yet isolating world of Goa’s wellness tourism, nightlife and class aspirations.
Directed by Sujay Dahake, ‘RaktaPhal’ recently wrapped an extensive 40-day shooting schedule in Goa and is slated for a theatrical release in February–March 2027.

The partnership is driven by a shared vision of taking Marathi cinema to a wider audience through distinctive storytelling while expanding its commercial footprint beyond traditional regional markets. By combining Panorama Studios’ industry reach with the creative vision of Cult Digital, Prakash Films and Sujay Dahake, the collaboration aims to bring original Marathi narratives to audiences across the country.

Kumar Mangat Pathak, Chairman, Panorama Studios, said, “We have always believed strongly in Marathi cinema and the exceptional stories and talent emerging from the industry. Our previous associations with Marathi films have been rewarding, both creatively and in terms of the recognition they have received. With ‘Tujhya AaiLa’ and ‘RaktaPhal’, we are delighted to continue this journey with Cult Digital, Prakash Films and Sujay Dahake. Both films represent fresh and distinctive stories rooted in Marathi culture, while having the potential to connect with audiences across India.”

Filmmaker Sujay Dahake said, “Cinema has always been about telling stories that are emotionally honest, socially relevant and creatively fearless. What makes this collaboration exciting is the shared belief among all the partners in the power of original storytelling. With ‘Tujhya AaiLa’ and ‘RaktaPhal’, we are exploring two very different worlds, and I am looking forward to bringing them to audiences with the collective support of Panorama Studios, Cult Digital and Prakash Films.”

Suniil Jaiin and Aditya Joshi, Founders, Cult Digital, and Rajesh Singh of Prakash Films, added, “Our association with Panorama Studios marks an important milestone for us. Together, we aim to create cinema that remains rooted in its cultural identity while speaking to contemporary audiences. We believe ‘Tujhya AaiLa’ and ‘RaktaPhal’ reflect the growing ambition and creative possibilities of Marathi filmmaking. We look forward to developing this association further and building a long-term partnership.”

With production on both projects now complete, the collaboration marks the beginning of a broader strategic relationship between Panorama Studios, Cult Digital and Prakash Films, with a focus on developing high-quality regional cinema that can resonate with audiences nationally. Further announcements regarding the films’ promotional campaigns and release strategies are expected in the coming months.

The post Panorama Studios, Cult Digital and Prakash Films Join Hands With Sujay Dahake For ‘Tujhya AaiLa’ and ‘RaktaPhal’! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Marathi cinema continues to break boundaries, and #SujaySDahake’s latest film, ‘Tujhya Aaila’, is no exception. Known for his bold storytelling in films like ‘Shala’, ‘Phuntroo’, and ‘#ShyamchiAai’, Sujay once again takes a daring leap into uncharted territory with this powerful exploration of verbal abuse and its impact on society. The much-anticipated poster of ‘Tujhya Aaila’ was recently unveiled at the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, creating waves of curiosity and excitement.

Presented by Suunil Jaiin, Prakash Films, Prashant Behera and One Stop Media, ‘Tujhya Aaila’ is produced under the banner of Pune Film Company and Cult Digital. The film is produced by Suunil Jaiin, Aditya Joshi, Sujay S. Dahake, Ashwini Paranjape and co-produced by Meghana Pramanik, Debashish Pramanik, Rajesh Singh and Ankit Chndiramani. The tagline, “Shivi Nai Khelcha Naa Hi Te,” translates the film’s central idea: verbal abuse is not a game—it’s a matter of great consequence. The film’s story revolves around the emotional lives of children and their encounters with verbal abuse, often disguised as playful banter. This theme is especially relevant in today’s world, where online trolling has amplified verbal violence to alarming levels. Words can wound as deeply as physical blows, and the film challenges us to reconsider how casually we use language that can leave lasting scars.

As the director, Sujay Dahake explains, “Verbal abuse has always fascinated and troubled me. It’s normalised in our culture, yet its impact is profound. Especially troubling is how much of it is directed at mothers—a figure of love and respect—making us question the roots of such language. Through this film, I want to start a conversation about the power of words and the damage they can do, both offline and in the digital space.” Having already made its mark on the festival circuit, the film has received significant recognition. It was included in the Indian Panorama selection and won the Special Jury Award at the Pune International Film Festival. Additionally, it earned accolades for Best Cinematography and the Audience Choice Award, highlighting the film’s technical brilliance and emotional resonance.

With a talented cast featuring Rajshree Deshpande, Rohini Hattangadi, Sambhaji Bhagat and a group of promising child actors, ‘Tujhya Aaila’ promises to be a cinematic experience that is as thought-provoking as it is visually compelling. ‘Tujhya Aaila’ is not just a film—it’s a social statement, urging us to reconsider the way we communicate and the unintended harm our words can cause. By bringing attention to verbal violence, both in the playground and online, the film serves as a powerful reminder of the responsibility we all carry in shaping a kinder, more empathetic society.
