She received Best Female Debut Award at the #ZeeCineAwards. Later Yami featured in ‘#EeshwarNivas’, ‘#ActionJackson’, ‘#Badlapur’, ‘#SanamRe’, ‘#Junooniyat’, ‘#UriTheSurgicalStrike’, ‘#Bala’, ‘#Dasvi’, ‘#ChorNikalKeBhaga’, ‘#Kaabil’. Yami Gautam married #AdityaDhar on 4 June 2021. Yami has been dishing out hits after hits. Her career has seen a meteoric rise. Her #OTT outings ‘#Lost’, ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’ were well received and her last outing which is a theatrical release, ‘#OMG2’, entered the coveted 100 Cr club. She likes to keep herself busy and now she has committed to a new film for which she has allotted almost couple of month for shoot in North India. Our Asst. Editor Ms. Nisha Verma, some time back, happened to interact with #YamiGautamDhar. Excerpts from the conversation with inputs from our Sr Editor Keerti Kadam.

Seeing your filmography, how do you select your projects?
‘Wahi jo teen sthamb hai, script, director and your role’. I really like doing varied characters. Take a case of OMG 2. During COVID period Akshay Sir narrated me the story over Zoom call. Dr Dwivedi and Amit Rai, the writer of this film, told me that they are very passionate about this. Akshay Sir too said this is one of his career’s best scripts. I heard the script, and at the same time I told him I wished to read the script again because reading script over and over again, makes me connect to the character and makes me see it in a whole new way. After reading the script I said yes as I found the character quite challenging, enjoyable and most importantly I found the subject of the film quite relevant. After Vicky Donor, there was a trend, all the movies released then were on social subjects, social messages. I could understand the difference between a film and a project. I did not want to be a part of a project, I wanted to do a film.

How do you separate your personal and professional life?
I like to keep both apart from each other. Aditya and I, we both are from the same field and are bound to talk on films. But we keep it casual without getting into intense discussions when at home. I am a professional. While doing ‘A Thursday’, when we were to shoot the climax, I was into my wedding festivities. I had just gotten married. So it was happy happy at home but on the sets it was intense, dark and serious. But I knew the importance of performing the scene the way it was written. I am happy to pull it off successfully.

About OMG2, was it intimidating as Akshay Kumar was part of the film?
After zillions of experiences I’ve this assurity and excitement. Akshay Sir is a big star, he’s one of the most loved actors in the film industry. But, I always keep in mind that, which is that one reason where my audience will stay connected with me. The films that I become a part of, it is of utmost importance to me that I read the script first. I never forget what are those things which lead me to sign a film. For one second, I do get a thought that, yaa! Akshay Kumar approached me for a role, But next second, I need to read the script once more, just once more.

How much does Aditya contribute in selecting your films?
I got married after this film was narrated to me. Akshay Sir and nobody knew about it. The next time when I spoke to him, he was like ‘Tera Vyah Ho Gaya’, I just spoke to you and you got married. Aditya and my relationship, if I speak about professional side, I share everything with Aditya and I love it. I go back home from work, have a ‘Chai’ with him and I begin to tell him from A to Z. He hasn’t read any of my scripts but I’ve read many of his scripts. He broadly knows when a script comes to me, that Yami is working on this script. There’s always a very healthy conversation between us. I remember Aditya had shared an important thing with me which somewhere I was following as an actor, but I didn’t take it that seriously until Aditya told me the importance of reading a script multiple times and knowing it thoroughly. I jot down pointers, study in depth, visualise the role. I religiously follow this detailed process before starting a new film. And it’s paying off.

How important is it to discuss sex education?
About OMG2, more than a message it is a social subject which is not spoken about in public. This is the reason makers and writers of this film felt it necessary to portray it on screen. The age from 12-17 years for any student are very formative years of his life. In today’s day and age where there’s internet, every teenager holds a phone in their hand. There are thousands of opinions on everything. If I say plain drinking water 10 people will have their own 10 ways of how to drink water. Then why not educate about sex education? It is a part of our life. Not taking sex education as just a word but understanding the back story of it, how interconnected it is with a students psyche, that’s what the film is about. It is entertaining and I assure, one didn’t feel uncomfortable while watching it along with Family.

I started my career with Vicky Donor, a film which spoke about sperm donation. Back in that time audiences must’ve wondered what are they portraying but on watching they understood how the family got together, the ‘sur’ or the tone of the film and what it was trying to tell. OMG 2 is in the same genre but in a different manner. We tried to start a conversation. Change will not come with just one film. We’re not aiming at that. Neither am I proving anything to anyone. It’s up to the audience to decide after watching the film.

Till what extent do you believe in God?
I believe in God that there’s a superpower overlooking and watching all of us. I call my mother ‘Jagat Jannani’ as she introduced me to God. A mother always makes a child understand the concept of God. I love these conversations with my mother not because it is a part of religion but spirituality. If you try and believe and understand our value system, if you’ve read scriptures, texts, everything is written with so much clarity. There is a Goddess in each and every part of us that we actually pray to and say that take care of us, protect us. It is that much in depth. I’m an avid believer of God and hailing from Himachal there’s no chance of not having faith. Even today when I visit temples in Himachal I feel that power. It is an epicentre of power which is beyond you and me.

Everyone goes through ups and downs in their life. I have gone through times when I’ve felt nothing could go worst than this but, even during those times I don’t question God as he himself has gone through it when you read some texts you understand that, that incident happened and that’s the reason today I saw this day also. Everything is connected to something.

What rituals do you practice, do you keep fasts?
Once I fasted for 9 days of Navratri. Later, my mother explained that it’s totally your choice to fast but even if you don’t and you just pray, then too it’s fine. But I believe in everything. On waking up in the morning, I practice my spiritual ritual. At my home on Mahashivratri, we have a very elaborate pooja. But I’m not superstitious.

How do you look at it when actors visit famous temples during promotions of their film?
I’m nobody to question someone’s visit to a Holy Shrine. As I said, there’s power which attracts you.

Being a human, what is the right duty of an Actor?
Karma, if I’m interacting with you it’s because of my work. I’m very true to my work in terms of my script. My homework is important. I never take myself or my audience for granted.

What are your views on OTT and theatrical release?
OTT is a new platform which helped producers during Covid period when the theatres were shut down indefinitely. So the producers take a call taking into consideration the commerce part. I personally do not have qualms about OTT releases because quite a few of my films have done extremely well on that platform. But I get very excited when my film releases in theatres. Nothing can match theatre’s charm. My every film had a screening because it was thought and made for theatres but we have to adapt to the change. The theatrical viewing gives you a different experience even if you are surrounded by hundreds of other viewers. And on a lighter note, to have Samosas and Popcorn while watching a movie is a completely fascinating experience altogether. Both can co-exist. One film may be for theatres, another might be on OTT. It goes on.

Which film did you first watch on the big screen?
‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, nobody believes it because I must be a toddler.

Akshay Kumar is famous for his pranks and same goes for Pankaj Tripathi. How was your experience working with them?
I never experienced any pranks from any of them. They’ve never pulled my leg. What I found is that both are clear and kind and thorough professionals. Akshay Sir likes to speak with me in Punjabi. His Punjabi is way better than mine. He’s very straight forward and someone who speaks from his heart.

Do you have any fear of clash or competition at the time of your film’s release?
With so many movies being made, a clash is inevitable. But if the viewers like the subject, the film gets appreciated. I was very sure that ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’ will be liked by viewers. And they proved me right. Having said that I had a gut feeling about ‘OMG 2’ too and this time around too I am happy that wish coming true. You can never be 100 percent sure but I had a positive feeling about it. It comes from the writer and director, and how they present it. It’s such a sensitive subject; how do you make it a family film? That was a challenge to not shy away from. Amit (Rai) handled the writing superbly. When I read the script I was very sure that the story needs to be told exactly from this perspective. When I watch my film and if I like it as an audience then I am always sure that the film is going to work.

The post Yami Gautam Dhar : everything is connected to something first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

After bringing to the screen stories of national and human interest, including the National Award-winning #UriTheSurgicalStrike, #Sonchirya, #TheSkyisPink, #RashmiRocket and #AThursday, #RSVPMovies is waiting to showcase one more true-life drama. A biopic of a prominent human rights activist, #JaswantSinghKhalra, is produced by #RonnieScrewvala, #AbhishekChaubey and #HoneyTrehan. Directed by Trehan, and toplined by actor-singer #DiljitDosanjh, the yet-untitled film which is complete and ready for release, has hit an unexpected roadblock.

“The makers have been waiting for censor clearance for the last six months,” informs a source from the industry. “RSVP applied for the censor certificate in December 2022, and it was sent ahead to the review committee. The team shared all the necessary paper work that was requested and went about the process with complete diligence, but with no solution forthcoming from the CBFC, they finally moved the Bombay High Court on Wednesday (June 14).”

Jaswant Singh Khalra was the director of a bank in Amritsar during the militancy period in Punjab who found evidence of abduction, elimination and cremation of thousands of unidentified bodies by the police. They reportedly even killed 2000 of their own officers who refused to collaborate in these extra judicial operations. Khalra’s investigation sparked worldwide protests and led to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) concluding that the Punjab police had unlawfully cremated 2097 people in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab alone .

The Supreme Court of India and the National Human Rights Commission have certified the validity of his data.

On September 6, 1995, Khalra himself disappeared. A case of murder, abduction and criminal conspiracy was registered on the complaint of his wife, Paramjit Kaur. Taking strong note of the “heinous crime” committed by four police officers in “eliminating” human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, active in bringing to light extra-judicial killings in the districts of Tarn Taran and Amritsar, the Punjab and Haryana Court, on October 16, 2007, enhanced the sentences of the four accused, former head constable Prithipal Singh and former sub-inspectors Satnam Singh, Surinder Pal Singh and Jasbir Singh from seven years to life imprisonment.

“The Jaswant Singh Khalra case is back in court, this time for a censor certificate. It will come up for hearing on July 4 and Ameet Naik, who fought to get Udta Punjab cleared, heads the Khalra biopic legal team,’ adds the source.

Incidentally, the 2016 crime drama was written and directed by Abhishek Chaubey. The Revising Committee of the Censor Board had asked for 89 cuts and all references to Punjab erased. It was later cleared by the Bombay High Court with just one scene edited out and an ‘A’ certificate.

Yami Gautam was a face of a leading fairness cream brand and did a lot of modelling in initial years. Though she was keen on becoming an IAS officer, she ended up doing television shows like #ChandKePaarChalo, #YehPyaarNaHogaKam etc. Later in 2012 Yami was selected to play lead opposite #AyushmannKhurrana in #VickyDonor, which fetched her #ZeeCineAward for #BestFemaleDebut. Incidentally the film was produced by #JohnAbraham. Her role in it was hugely appreciated and Yami started getting good offers. Yami did #Badlapur, headlined by #VarunDhawan and directed by #SriramRaghavan. Her joy was touching the sky when she was cast opposite #HrithikRoshan in #Kaabil. Hrithik and Yami’s performances were well received. #VickyKaushal starrer and #AdityaDhar directorial #UriTheSurgicalStrike was a huge hit and despite limited screen space her performance was noticed and appreciated. In #Bala too her comic timing won her accolades. The film Uri: The Surgical Strike is extremely important for Yami because a couple of years back, in the pandemic era, she got married to it’s director Aditya Dhar.

#YamiGautamDhar has been progressing professionally and in recent times quite a few of her films were released on OTT and were declared hits. A Thursday, Lost, Dasvi, which had Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur with her, were released digitally and were well appreciated. Her last OTT release was Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga. It was declared a superhit and to celebrate the success Yami met a select few journos for a tete-a-tete. Our Sr Editor Keerti Kadam interacted with Yami Gautam Dhar and she was game for every question. Excerpts…

You have been ruling OTT now. In fact you are the new OTT Queen. Do you find any difference between a theatrical release an OTT release?
I had my share of some good theatrical releases also, starting my first film Vicky Donor. I remember Badlapur, Kaabil, Uri even Bala they were runaway hits. Theatrical release has it’s own perks, so I don’t think any other medium will give that kind of cinematic experience that a theatre gives, which is how I feel films are designed to be watched. It’s a dark hall. The director takes you to his own world, his vision and you forget about everything. I still remember back in the 90’s, the smell of fresh popcorn, fresh samosas, pastries laid out for that exact amount of people who came to watch the film at that time. So watching a film on a big curtain gave a totally different vibe. But there is a pre-pandemic and a post pandemic era and I am sure every actor must be saying the same thing and it’s actually very true. We adapt with time. You have to go with the flow and who thought that a platform named OTT will emerge and takeover, suddenly change the demography of experiencing cinema and the time where it was very important especially for producers and a lot of people in terms of finance, even to the audience to entertain themselves.

You see, whatever the medium, my acting won’t change, my performance, my sincerity will remain intact when it comes to films or OTT films. I will never discriminate and think that oh wait this film is made for OTT and this film is made for theatre, I will never do that and will never like to hear it from my director as well. Our job is to give you the best film according to our sensibility and our vision, budgets and everything possible. Where it lands up is the producers prerogative, because it’s their money. They want to feel safe especially for a mid-budget film. A big budget film is still very different but for mid budget films, right now to have that courage, the confidence more than the courage and to expect that yes I think I can recover it or how much I will recover? The math for a mid-budget film is very different. Although you never know, for example URI, that was a miracle and a huge surprise. It’s difficult in today’s times though but I see it as a period of correction, as a period to push the right people who are the writers, creative people and the directors to push themselves and to take it as a challenge that if you are making a good film or a show, the audience should not skip it, they should be engaged in it, be it an OTT or a film in a theatre. They don’t skip that film.

Your last release ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’ was a thriller with various ingredients like romance, action, suspense etc. Share your views on that.
We had a gala time shooting ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’. The story was full of twists and turns. Every film comes with it’s own set of challenges and that’s the thrill part of it. We long for these, we seek these challenges. When you read a script, is it exciting for me as an actor and is it exciting for me as an audience? Would I watch this film? So that’s what is always running in my mind, when I am reading something, and I thought Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga was also one of those films. When I look back at the palate of films I have done especially in the recent past, it’s very different. It was your popcorn-popping entertaining and engaging thriller film. I must enjoy a film, even the one I am in. The day I don’t get to enjoy my film is the day, I myself will say that I’m sorry it didn’t work for me. Maybe it works for the audience. It has happened with some past films of mine, but I really enjoyed.

Will you name the films which didn’t work for you?
(Smiles) Don’t put me in a spot. See, if I mention names, it wouldn’t be fair to other people who are associated with that film. Besides that there are still a lot of people associated with the film who may not agree with my views. And I have to give them that respect because they gave me work at that time. Also when a film is made, a lot of hard work goes behind it. No one wants to make a flop film. Sometimes things don’t pan out as it was imagined. And when a film doesn’t do well it’s not the end of the road. See, this industry and for that matter everybody in life, thrives on hope.

Do you think your recent successes like Dasvi, Lost, A Thursday and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga have widened your reach?
As an actor definitely yes. As I say it’s quite challenging to find your audience and the kind of shift I see in the audiences or whatever the way I read about myself I take it quite seriously. A lot of people feel, if it’s Yami’s film or if Yami is a part of the film, it must be something different, so let’s watch it. I respect my audience a lot and value their last verdict the most, that’s the most rewarding thing for me. As far as theatrical release is concerned that balance is also important. I am doing my job as an actor. I am giving you at least in my version or whatever you feel to say, a good performance or a decent performance.

OTT has widened the reach of audiences because in theatres you need a bigger success like URI for which 1.5 or 2 crore people should watch it, but on OTT it’s possible within a week, you don’t need 200 or 300 crore at the box office for that. So how can I do that? But yeah to be cast in a certain kind of film or with a certain director or with a certain budget film you need to be seen. I have done that in the past. So I feel that people like myself nothing will be the perfect point. There will always be something that we’ll have to keep proving ourselves one film after the other. So I have stopped thinking like that. About my job, what is in my control? The kind of scripts that I am associating with and if I am excited to be in a film. My director needs to equally be excited to work with me and that’s it. And as you said “A good film will find it’s way to the audience”.

You’ve been doing female centric roles recently. Are you consciously doing that?
You know very soon I think this term will also get away that “Female centric” films which I understand why it was coined. Because earlier we didn’t have many of these kinds of films. More than female centric film I consider them as a character driven film. I will never ask you to watch a film of mine which has me leading it because it’s a female oriented film or it talks about a social message. While that will be important but at the end of the day you are investing your time and money in that film, it needs to be a good script. It needs to be a film first.

I was leading a film like A Thursday. I see it with a lot of credibility and with the same emotion I think the audience embraces that film. I will never forget the kind of messages and calls I started getting after the press show. Personally I have never got that kind of response because we would wait for the film to be released then everyone expresses because of the embargo but they said we are not giving the review right now but we are telling you in person that you should have been a part of this press screening, everyone was speechless in the end and that’s my revert.

When you shoot movies back-to-back like URI or A Thursday, do you somewhere miss the characters that you played in Kaabil or Badlapur where you played the role of a sweet, innocent girl?
No, I don’t view my characters like that, I mean I have looked back at these films. No, I don’t miss that either. And I don’t endorse ‘I want to have the power in my hand’ type of roles. My job is to make sure that you don’t associate me in any bracket. Like you were saying you expected more from me and I assure you that when we meet for the next interview for the next film, you will have something different to see. I consider them as I said just for the effect of coming across as a strong person I will never do a film, it has to have some substance in it. And I still look back at Kaabil as a performance oriented role and that film I remember when it was released most of the people, even in the industry they came out saying or the way it was written. Some said ‘it was a small role’, but I didn’t consider it like that. I thought it was a very performance-oriented role and I’m very happy to have gotten that opportunity to play it and that’s how I look back at it same with my movie “A Thursday”.

The whole idea is to keep pushing myself and to keep doing something novel. Before every such film I have gotten nervous, When I started prepping for Bala, as much as a fun character it was, it made me nervous. Not the “will I be able to do” nervous. I know I can do it but how will I do it? So I have to sit and start preparing that’s what I think of a character and once it’s done, it’s all over you, then I am done, I have to move on. I don’t hold on to any character. I don’t want to hold onto any image that people liked me in a certain way, No! They liked that film, they liked that character I don’t think they want me to do more such films. Good films, and good films can be anything. It’s ambiguous, my favourite word.

About actors, there are lot of aspirations, you know when people see you on screen, you know they want to relate themselves with the character or they see a part of themselves in actors and now actors are available everywhere because on social media even if you are not posting something you are being clicked/papped with that and now with the increase in OTT, How do you keep yourself aspirational, with all the chaos around?

That is so correct and I think that is one of the reasons which also might not be working in favour of the actors. I personally think it might not be in favour of us for a very long time. There was an aspirational quality or aspect attached to it when you used to watch films or actors because of inaccessibility. You would just know them by their characters or what they were on screen. Now because you are being seen everywhere, being clicked everywhere, that charm of watching, is lesser. You know about me the easier for me it is to convince you about the character.

I don’t call anyone to click me. If they happen to be there that’s great. Or if it’s a part of a professional engagement I do, but beyond a point, no. I like to draw that line and for my own sanctity more than anything else my sanity. I think that’s very important to mark that line, that’s my job and this is where the job ends, I have my personal life. And to answer your question, the best conversation to have with your audience is through films. I think I have the ability to do my job there but the whole façade of creating a perception about yourself. How many fans you have? Are you getting mobbed? You have to get mobbed, you have to get clicked while getting mobbed, you have to trend on social media, you have to be seen there, I think there are just more and more distractions, that is how I see it. I don’t judge anyone who does it but when everyone starts doing it that’s a problem or someone has to write good things about me, do I have to pay that person? I don’t believe in that because if I have done a good job you will write about it and if you don’t feel, you won’t write. But I can make you aware of my film. We need that marketing that a film is releasing. I can’t tell you that you have to write this. I am stepping the line. So it’s a longer route but I feel it’s the correct one.

The post Yami Gautam Dhar : New OTT Queen! first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

After celebrating the Indian Army with URI: The Surgical Strike last year and recently announcing another war film in Pippa, RSVP’S air force film Tejas is set to go on floors this December.

Tejas is the story of a daring and fierce fighter pilot, played by Kangana Ranaut. The Indian Air Force was the first of the country’s defence forces to induct women into combat roles in 2016. The film takes inspiration from this landmark event.

Written to evoke a sense of pride and most importantly inspire the youth of our nation, this mission based film takes us through some of the most challenging combat missions our forces undertake in their effort to keep our country safe from terrorism.

Written and to be directed by Sarvesh Mewara, this is another RSVP film after URI: The Surgical Strike that salutes the armed forces and aims to inspire the country at large.

“Tejas is an exhilarating story where I have the privilege of playing an air force pilot. I am honoured to be a part of a film that celebrates these brave men & women in uniform who make immense sacrifices in the line of duty everyday… Our film celebrates the armed forces and its heroes … Excited to take this journey with Sarvesh and Ronnie,” says Kangana.

“We were in the midst of prep when the world was hit by this unfortunate pandemic. I’m pleased to announce that we are resuming work and will commence shoot later this year. URI: The Surgical Strike, celebrated the courage of the Indian Army and Tejas is our dedication to the brave fighter pilots of the Indian Air Force. The idea of developing a story around a woman fighter pilot was born in-house by Salona Bains Joshi, the Associate Producer on the project, and I backed it instantly. With Kangana as the lead, I hope our film inspires many more women to join the Indian Air Force,” says Ronnie Screwvala.

“My film is a reflection of the current sentiment in our country. We celebrate our armed forces and I hope to further evoke a spirit of patriotism and nationalism through my story telling. Kangana is a strong woman with a voice that resonates with the youth of this nation and I cannot wait to begin shoot with her,” says Sarvesh.

The post Kangana Ranaut to play a daring and fierce fighter pilot in ‘Tejas’ first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

Ronnie Screwvala is known to back raw talent. That’s the reason many directors got break with his production house RSVP. Directors who marked their debut with RSVP are Aditya Dhar – URI: The surgical strike, Vasan Bala – Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Vinod Kapri – Pihu, Akarsh Khurana _ Karwaan, Sneha Taurani – Bhangra Paa Le, Anand Tiwari – Love Per Square foot, Honey Trehan – Raat Akeli Hai.

Recently, Honey Trehan made his directorial debut with Raat Akeli Hai and the likes of other directors namely Vasan Bala, Aditya Dhar also were earlier introduced by RSVP. Capturing how the production house’s vision works, here’s what the directors have to say.

In 2019, RSVP brought a pathbreaking project- ‘URI: The surgical strike’ and the world was introduced to Aditya Dhar, by RSVP. Talking about how Ronnie supports the vision and the algorithm behind his successful projects, Aditya Dhar shares, “He has always led the way to introduce great directors – be it Dibakar Bannerjee or Vikramaditya Motwane, Neeraj Pandey, Vasan Bala, Rajkumar Gupta etc. As soon as Ronnie read Uri, he was determined to make it happen, even though I was a first time director, Vicky had not done a solo lead commercial project before and war films were not considered commercially viable. Ronnie understands that films don’t flop because of stories, but because of bad mathematics.”

“He is more of a trend setter because at a time when films like Swades, Rang de Basanti, A Wednesday, Dev D, Barfi, Delhi Belly – were all considered commercially risky, Ronnie believed in the stories these films were telling, and backed them up wholeheartedly”, he adds.

“Ronnie has an amazing sense of creativity and fantastic business acumen. His analytic mind knows what works and what doesn’t. He is always so open and receptive to the ever-shifting culture, to a point where he can converse just as effortlessly with a teenager as he would with someone far older than he is. With no ego whatsoever, his straightforward attitude and a brilliant sense of humour makes him a great collaborator. At every step of the way, he has facilitated the greatest creative freedom to me. Even though he is one of the country’s biggest producers, he is still available to his team even at the wee hours of the night.”

Vasan Bala who brought the unique action-comedy flick, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota expresses, “An extremely pragmatic personality but has over the years backed so many risky propositions. You never associate him with run of the mill anything, be it movies be it his other businesses. It will always be fuzed with a sense of adventure and human storytelling. I could make my childhood Kung Fu Movie dream only with him. Don’t think anyone else even came close to understanding what I wanted to do.”

Director Nitish Tewari tells, “It has always been a pleasure to work with Ronnie sir. He understands his director’s vision and gives him/her full support and space to be able to achieve it. On top of that the warmth he exudes makes it very easy to work with him.”

Having worked on multiple projects together, Rajkumar Gupta says, “Have worked with Ronnie in three film Aamir(my debut), No one killed Jessica and Ghanchakkar. The first two film were very unconventional, were films that no other producer would have backed. He did. He backed other films with wonderful filmmakers that otherwise would not have got made. It shows Ronnie’s vision, the trust he has on script, film, filmmaker and the creative process. I remember an incident – when Ronnie saw the rough cut of No One Killed Jessica, no body was sure how the film was, he came out hugged me and said – we have a winner in our hands! The point I am trying to make – he has vision, he is brave, he has respect and understanding of creative process of film making. It won’t be an overstatement to say – he has been a trendsetter by backing films that no other producer had. That too ten years back.I had a wonderful time collaborating with him.”

The trailer of Bhoot – The Haunted Ship has left the audiences spooked and already piqued people’s curiosity. After receiving love for his performance in URI – The Surgical Strike, actor Vicky Kaushal is all set to make everyone scream with his next.

The trailer introduces us to Vicky Kaushal’s character who is a surveying officer on the ship – Sea Bird. Sea-Bird is a mysterious ship that floated on the shore of Juhu beach Mumbai and Vicky is on a mission to figure out how that happened when there was no one in the ship.

Another interesting aspect of the film is that it has two national award winners working for the film. Sound plays a very important role in the horror genre. Knowing this, the makers have got on board renowned sound designer Anish John. He has earlier worked in films like Newton, Trapped and Pari. While Vicky recently received the prestigious national award for URI, Anish was conferred the national award in Best Audiography for Labour Of Love.

Director Bhanu Pratap Singh says, “It’s a wonderful experience to collaborate with talented cast and crew. I am glad to have both Vicky and Anish on board”

Zee Studios presents Bhoot, a Dharma Productions Film which is slated to release on 21st February. It also features Bhumi Pednekar and Ashutosh Rana.

The post 2 national award winners come together for Bhoot first appeared on Latest News, Breaking News, National News, World News, India News, Bollywood News, Business News, Politics News, Sports News, Entertainment News - CineBuster.

What’s common in his filmography is that he has most often worked with first time directors. Be it Neeraj Ghaywan (Masaan), Anand Tiwari (Love Per Square Foot) or Aditya Dhar (URI) and now, Bhanu Pratap Singh for Bhoot.

Talking about his experience working with them, Vicky said, ”I have more often worked with new directors. The energy working with them is very refreshing. It feels like a school project collaboration – all of us sharing and discussing our ideas. It’s a completing different vibe.”
