Sharad also speaks about his bold role in the series and adds, “Bold content doesn’t have to be cheap or sleazy; it can be bold yet classy, depending on the director’s vision. With Vikram sir at the helm, I had no second thoughts. My character, Dev Kapoor, is unlike anything I’ve played before, and that challenge excited me. This was my first time sporting a salt-and-pepper look, and I feel it carries a lot of ruggedness, charm, maturity, and confidence. Initially, I was a bit hesitant, wondering how people would react, but thankfully, the feedback has been amazing. Fans have loved it, and they’re already looking forward to Season 2.”

Galat is a micro-series, which is the recent trend in the industry. Talking about that, Sharad says, “Galat was my first experience of working in a micro-series format. You have to tell an entire story in just 30 seconds to about two and a half minutes — something people can watch on the go, maybe while traveling. It’s challenging, exciting, and definitely a new wave in entertainment. I’m glad audiences have embraced it, and I hope more people explore this style of storytelling.”

On being asked about his experience with Sakshi Sharma, who plays the female lead in the series, he says, “Working with Sakshi was a delight. Not just me — the entire team was pleasantly surprised by her performance. She played her part beautifully, and a lot of credit goes to director Shahdab Khan for casting her. Acting is all about action and reaction, and her performance definitely elevated mine. Between shots, we would joke around and keep the atmosphere light, which helped since some scenes were intense. Sakshi is very real and unfiltered, and I always tell her to stay the way she is. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about how people would perceive Dev and Arya’s chemistry, but the response has been incredible — we became the talk of the town for a while.”

Sharad also adds, “Shahdab Khan is one of the sharpest minds I’ve worked with. A lot of the physical aspects of Dev Kapoor’s look, especially the salt-and-pepper style, came from him. He’s calm, collected, and communicates exactly what he needs in a very subtle, efficient way. Post Galat, we’ve developed a great ‘bro code’ bond, and I’m grateful to have a director who understands my performance and helps me bring out my best.”

Vikram Bhatt, who has been a pioneer in dark thrillers in the industry, is the backbone of this series. Sharad says, “Working with Vikram Bhatt sir has been an absolute delight — truly a dream come true. It was always on my bucket list. Every time I met him, whether on set or off, I was blown away by his charm, aura, and the way he brings characters to life. I am deeply grateful to Vikram sir and the entire team for trusting me with Galat.”

Aman Khanna (Akshay Oberoi) used to be a successful singer and musician but after death of his ten year old son he has become an alcoholic. He and his wife, Meera (Aindrita Ray), have compatibility issues and are constantly fighting. Due to troubled marriage, she takes up an lucrative assignment to write an biography of Siddharth Jaiwardhan (Meherzan Mazda) who is a successful businessman from Uttarakhand. After reaching Binsar situated in UK (Uttarakhand), she gets a shock of her life. Siddharth wants to possess her and through ‘Vashikaran’ he starts controlling her. Missing his wife, Aman ventures out to find her and reaches Binsar. He is guided by a blind man (Rushad Rana) who is aware of Meera being possessed. One things leads to another and after a combat with a giant creature Aman is able to rescue Meera from the clutches of Siddharth.

The story captures the love between the lead couple but it’s too short. The supernatural activities are uninspiring and unconvincing. Surprisingly Meera has not researched the place she was visiting as it’s shown deserted due to extreme cold weather. Only Siddharth and his handy man live there and despite cold weather Meera is only seen in chiffon and georgette sarees, though she looks good in them. Cinematography and technical aspects are excellent. The dialogues have some meat and music is very soulful and the title track really stands out. Akshay Oberoi plays his role with conviction. Aindrita Ray has delivered a nice performance. Meherzan Mazda, Jai Mustafa, Rushad Rana lend good support.

Loaded with spectacular visual effects Judaa Hoke Bhi is worth a one-time watch.

Today, as the film completes twenty years of release, Bipasha Basu walked down the memory lane and shared some fun and interesting anecdotes about her Raaz days! She said, “We were shooting in Ooty for the film and we had a lot of night sequences to shoot where I would wake up in the night to sounds and walk into the forest. While the real location was a beautiful bungalow, the ambience around was cold, chilly, dimly lit and eerie. This would make the surroundings in the night so scary! And I had to walk alone into the wilderness in the cold wearing a nighty!”

Talking about some fun pranks director Vikram Bhatt played on her to get an on-camera reaction, she said, “Vikram had this huge gong that he would unexpectedly ring to get the right reaction out of me. The first time he used the gong, I was absolutely caught unaware while walking in pin-drop silence and it was so scary that I shook and screamed loudly! I thought my soul left my body! After that, the gong became my biggest villain! He would use that gong at any point to get a crazy reaction out of me!”

Speaking about how the film’s cast and crew would add more spookiness to the shoot, she said, “In the night, everyone, including Saroj Khan, Ashutosh Rana and Vikram Bhatt, would narrate the scariest ghost stories that they have experienced. It was quite crazy and made my job of getting scared a little easier. I definitely had my share of spooks during the filming of Raaz!”

Co-starring Dino Morea and Ashutosh Rana, the supernatural horror film was co-produced by Vishesh Films and Tips Industries. Bipasha Basu’s compelling portrayal of her character in the film is counted amongst one of the most memorable performances of the 2000s! I had to eat fattening things and none of them was from my daily meal pallette. I had a lot of fun eating everything I can. I am back to my routine now after finishing the shoot. It was great to act with Ameesha Patel mam. She is a legendary actress. Ameesha mam was great. She is so down to earth and she has always been beside me. She is playing a glam diva and it’s a great contrast. She improves me and makes my character entirely different. It’s a story of a family of four people that is me, Ameesha Patel mam, Rajesh Sharma Ji, and Jatin Khurrana. I shot for my glam parts in the beginning and then I gained weight and played the housewife part and the rest you would have to watch the movie. Stay safe and keep happy.”

She is back to her routine by being at the fitness centers. She is doing kickboxing, cardio, weight training, and yoga. She is leaving no stones unturned.
