Vivek Oberoi and Rohit Roy will be seen together after 15 years in the upcoming short film Verses of War. Oberoi plays a brave Indian soldier in the drama and Roy essays the role of a Pakistani army official.

‘Verses of War’ is a short film which will be released exclusively on FNP Media YouTube channel, this Republic Day – as their special ode to brave soldiers across the globe who transcends boundaries & go beyond the call of their duty. The Prasad Kadam-directed short film traces the unlikely friendship between the Pakistani officer and the PoW, based on their shared love for poetry. Vivek Oberoi plays the brave Indian soldier in the drama and Rohit Roy essays the role of a Pakistani Army official. Shivaanii Rai will make her debut with this film. ‘Verses of War’ is produced by Vikaas Gutgutia and Girish Johar.

On the work front, Vivek was recently seen in the third season of the Amazon Original series Inside Edge. Director Prasad Kadam is known for short film like Chuha Billi starring Adah Sharma and Anupriya Goenka. “Yes, we were doing the reading sessions, and I told Vishal bhai and Ajay that I love this character of Langda Tyagi and I want to play it. The character looked so awesome. But Vishal bhai told me that I looked young age-wise for that character, and therefore he wanted me to play Kesu Firangi,” remembers Vivek Anand Oberoi while narrating the incident on Omkara’s 15th anniversary today.

Vivek Anand Oberoi adds, “It so happened that Saif had grown his hair those days for some other movie, and he had those wonderful gorgeous locks. He had to look really authentic and had to cut off his hair to get that UP gangster look to perfection. Vishal bhai was adamant that Saif had to chop off his hair and it had to be as original as possible in terms of the look and feel. Saif was still double thinking about chopping his hair off. I literally told him one day, of course in a funny way, that ‘bro, if you’re not chopping your hair off, I am chopping my hair off and I am going to play Langda Tyagi. It’s one of the best roles that I’ve ever read.’ Saif finally relented and suddenly I see him in that short hair and the look, and the rest, as they say, is history.”

As history would have it, Vivek Anand Oberoi went ahead to win numerous Best Supporting Actor awards for playing Kesu Firangi while Saif Ali Khan went on to win the Best Actor in a Negative role at numerous award nights.

Vivek’s schools are at Vrindavan and Hema Malini has been a Member Of Parliament from the same constituency for 2 consecutive terms now. She has seen Vivek’s altruistic work grow right in front of her eyes.

Vivek urges people to contribute as much as they’re capable of. A contribution of Rs 1000 can help CPAA’s food bank provide an entire month’s food to a child fighting cancer and their family. No donation is a small donation and every rupee counts.

There are parents of cancer stricken kids that spoke to Vivek who are starving for over 3 days just so they can provide maximum nutrition and immunity possible for their kid fighting cancer. As the human body’s immunity is low after the Chemotherapy sessions, a child needs proper nutrition to recover. Vivek is trying to ensure that such kids never go hungry and their parents don’t have to starve just to provide their kids the necessary nutrition.

During an event for I Am Oxygen Man recently, Dr. Vivek Bindra revealed this fact. He opened up about how generous Vivek Anand Oberoi has been and how, without batting an eyelid, he donated Rs 25 lakh for the fundraiser but did it quietly without telling anyone.

Vivek Anand Oberoi has been leaving no stone unturned to ensure that everyone suffering from Covid-19 in this second wave gets the proper medical attention. This initiative of I Am Oxygen Man has set up and is operating, and maintaining a 200-bed free Covid hospital in Delhi, which has already saved more than a 1000 lives. Along with Dr. Vivek Bindra, he is trying to ensure that India is fully equipped medically for the 3rd wave of Covid-19.

Besides the I Am Oxygen Man initiative, Vivek Anand Oberoi has sponsored hundreds of free heart surgeries for poor children. He has saved more than 2.5 lakh, underprivileged kids, from cancer. He has saved over 2200 little girls from child prostitution, of whom over 50 are studying abroad today on scholarships. He started with philanthropy really early, he donated the entire money earned from his first salary for the movie Company towards the heart surgery of an underprivileged young girl.

Vivek Anand Oberoi has been working with Cancer Patients Aid Association to feed 3000 underprivileged children who are fighting cancer. He believes they desperately need good nutrition to help build their immunity as they are at high risk of contracting Covid.
