Continuing their passion of delivering great content ZEE5 announced another original ‘Comedy Couple’. Set against the stand-up comedy scene in Gurgaon, #JokinglyYours,

ZEE5 has given us films like Yaara, Bamfaad, Ghoomketu, Chintu Ka Birthday and Yaara to web series like Lalbazaar and most recently, Mafia. The OTT player recently announced the commencement of Naxalbari’s shoot, one of the most awaited Originals, starring Rajeev Khandelwal. The platform completed its Mumbai schedule of ‘Comedy Couple’ successfully and are in the process of wrapping up the Delhi-NCR one soon, following and maintaining all the restrictions and safety guidelines that have been set.

Comedy Couple stars lead pair Saqib Saleem and Shweta Basu Prasad and is produced by Yoodlee

Directed by Nachiket Samant, the film is a com-rom based in Gurgaon and is set against the backdrop of the burgeoning stand-up comedy scene in the city.  Yoodlee Films is fresh off the critical success of their last two films, the charming and sensitive National award winner Hamid, and the Tamil slice-of-life drama, KD, that was widely lauded both in India and internationally. They also released two films direct to digital during the ongoing lockdown, to great public acclaim: Axone and Chaman Bahar.

‘Comedy Couple’ is based on a story by Bikas Mishra with screenplay by Raghav Kakkar & Kashyap Kapoor. Currently shooting, the film will premiere soon on ZEE5.

Aamir Ali’s grey-shade digital debut in ‘Naxalbari’

One of India’s famous most loved television actors, Aamir Ali, is all set to make his digital debut with Naxalbari. He will be seen playing an intriguing character in the show. Naxalbari, one of the most awaited ZEE5 Originals, is currently being shot in Goa.

ZEE5 has always been at the forefront of creating and delivering great content to viewers. Even during the pandemic, the video streaming platform continues to present fresh Original content – from films like Pareeksha, Chintu Ka Birthday, Yaara, Bamfaad, Ghoomketu to web series like Lalbazaar, Mafia and most recently, Churails. The OTT player is the only one to start shooting in the lockdown with units following and maintaining all the restrictions and safety guidelines that have been set.

”I wanted to play a character which is distinct and mysterious at the same time. I’m excited to be of part of Naxalbari and can’t wait for my fans to witness a character that I have never played before. We have been shooting in Goa and the experience is really very different, but I must admit the sort of dedication and hard work the crew put in to work in this situation is heart-warming and commendable. Naxalbari is an interesting subject and all the actors in the show have come together to deliver something brilliant. This one is going to be a show like no other”, shares Aamir Ali.

The eight-episode action-packed series is a fictional account of the protagonist’s fightback against a red uprising. It is a race against time for Raghav (Rajeev Khandelwal) – a cop, who is up against all odds to save the day. An action-packed series that alternates between the dense jungles of Maharashtra and metropolitan cities which increasingly become hotbeds for the Naxal ideology.

Apart from Aamir Ali (Keswani), the star cast includes Rajeev Khandelwal (Raghav), Tina Datta (Ketki), Sreejita Dey (Prakriti), Satyadeep Mishra (Pahan), Shakti Anand (Binu Atram) in prominent roles.

The trailer starts with the era of the 70s where the Jai Veeru jodi had already made special places in the audiences’ mind with their tight bond but apart from that, a real life bond seen growing was the choukdi gang, which has been inseperable no matter what and with time, the bond just kept getting deeper where no force could ever drift them apart.

However, one incident blew the four pillars in four corners and years later, the broken pieces of the gang have started joining in because one of the friends is in trouble. What will happen after the problem is solved? Will the gang reunite or get seperated again, forever?

Amit Sadh will be seen essaying the lead role and also will be the element that bring back together the four friends. Will they unite? However the audiences are comparing the storyline with three Idiots and Amit Sadh gives a fitting reply.

The actor says, “Well, I am glad that people are saying so…I have no such take on this, its just a pure friendship that we have tried to bring on-screen. If people are loving the bond of Choukdi gang, I am glad.”

The friendship saga is just a couple of days away and is sure to virtually make you travel to the era. YAARA is the remake of a famous French film, Gang story. Virtual music launch of ‘Yaara’

The launch was graced by director Tigmanshu Dhulia alongside ace singer Shaan, Ankit Tiwari and Revant Shergill. Joining them was music director Siddharth Pandit and guitarist Gourov Dasgupta. Later the celebration was joined by the cast of ‘Yaara’ i.e Vidyut Jammwal, Amit Sadh, Vijay Varma and Kenny Basumatary. The launch was hosted by RJ Anuraag Pandey. Ankit Tiwari and Shaan respectively sang acoustic versions of the songs ‘Bhedi’ and ‘Har Dafaa’, leaving the audience in absolute awe. The launch was concluded by Revant singing the song Beparvah and the cast of Yaara joining in.
