The film opens with a portrayal of Kashmir in the early 2000s, marked by terrorism and turbulence. In order to curb the chaos, BSF Officer Dubey is transferred to Srinagar, where he commences his duty and investigation. The mastermind devising and coordinating the terror attacks is found to be Ghazi Baba, who also plans and executes the 2001 Parliament attack. ‘Ground Zero’ chronicles the 2-year operation led by Officer Dubey as he uncovers Ghazi Baba, enabling India’s biggest anti-terror operation.

Donning the uniform of Officer Dubey, Emraan Hashmi shines as the brave and tactful soldier. Whether it is powerful action, intense emotion, playful romance or well-timed humour, there is nothing that he cannot pull off. His war cry – “Ab prahaar hoga.” could be the next “How’s the josh?” from Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. Sai Tamhankar is somehow, both gentle and fierce in her portrayal of Officer Dubey’s wife. Her eyes speak volumes as she brings the human side of the military forces to the screen. Her subtle yet strong dialogue – “Kashmir hai, pata nahi mausam kab badal jaaye.” – creates sheer goosebumps, being a coincidental reminder of the tragic terror attacks in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, Zoya Hussain delivers an apt performance as a smart and resolute Intelligence Officer. #MukeshTiwari, #DeepakParmesh, #LalitPrabhakar, #AbhayDheerajSingh, #RockeyRaina and #RahulVohra offer solid support throughout the film.

Tejas Deoskar’s direction takes the film a notch higher and he succeeds in showcasing Kashmir as it was in the early 2000s. He depicts highly sensitive issues on celluloid with utmost caution and grace. The intense screenplay is balanced by subtle humour that is not abrupt, but blends naturally with the plot. The film’s songs are placed strategically, with powerful lyrics that tug at one’s heartstrings. ‘Ground Zero’ is a heartfelt tribute to BSF Officer Dubey and the sacrifices made by his team. It is a must-watch that will make every Indian proud.

Haathi Mere Saathi is a reflection to the environmental crisis across the world and Daggubati will be seen fighting for rainforests and wildlife against humans.  As March 3rd marks World Wildlife Day, Rana opened up about the importance of wildlife and his love for nature. He shared, “The fact that the world needs a Wildlife Day is a proof that we need to be reminded once in a while to think about wildlife and that’s what needs to change. As a human race, we need to become more empathetic towards wildlife. If on this day we could make ourselves aware of the choices we make and the consequences we have on the wildlife due to these choices, then maybe it would be first step towards a shift in the rest of the days.”

The actor believes that it’s by making conscious choices and opting for sustainable, eco-friendly materials; one can contribute to the endangered species. Further opening up about how his film Haathi Mere Saathi fights for the wildlife in the truest sense, Rana says, “Haathi Mere Saathi is a story of a forest man, who inherits a forest and a family of elephants – which he literally treats like his own family. And when that family is threatened, he will do anything to save them even putting his own life at risk.
