Smita Sable

Smita Sable, Sapna Sikarwar and Shubhangi Atre welcome the monsoon in style!

With monsoon clouds ready to burst and the scent of rain already in the air, it’s not just umbrellas coming out but wardrobes across are getting a seasonal refresh! &TV actresses also share how they have already prepped their closets and homes to welcome the monsoon in style. These include Smita Sable (Dhaniya, Bheema), #SapnaSikarwar (Bimlesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and #ShubhangiAtre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai).

Smita Sable aka Dhaniya from Bheema reveals, “While I love the monsoon and the joy of rains, I am also mindful of everything else that comes with the season—humidity, slippery roads, and sudden downpours. That’s why I have already stocked up on monsoon essentials in my wardrobe, from colourful umbrellas to non-slip sandals that are both practical and stylish. I never like to compromise on fashion, even if it’s pouring! I have picked bright, cheerful umbrellas and cute waterproof footwear to keep things vibrant. I also switch to breathable fabrics like cotton and georgette and prefer culottes, midi dresses, and flowy kaftans that dry quickly and are easy to move in. Since I love taking quick getaways to places near the mountains and beaches during this beautiful weather, my wardrobe is already packed with comfy travel dresses, oversized shirts, and lightweight jackets that are perfect for those breezy monsoon escapes!”

Sapna Sikarwar, who plays Bimlesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “I love the rains, but I believe your wardrobe needs to be monsoon-ready! I have revamped mine with ankle-length trousers and quick-dry, synthetic dupattas, no more heavy fabrics that get soaked and cling. I have also invested in waterproof footwear that’s both functional and fashionable. At home, I have replaced thick fabrics with light, fast-drying curtains and cushion covers in bright colours. They instantly uplift the space when the skies turn grey. And of course, monsoon feels incomplete without crispy pakoras and steaming masala chai! This season, I have stocked up on easy-to-make snacks and a variety of tea flavours that instantly lift the mood on a rainy day.”

Shubhangi Atre, aka Angoori Bhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, says, “I have gone all out this year to make sure I am completely monsoon-ready—right from accessories to home essentials! I picked up a cheerful yellow raincoat and a sturdy yet stylish pair of rain boots that make stepping out in the rain feel fun rather than frustrating. I have also added foldable umbrellas to all my bags—because you never know when the rain will catch you off guard! Since I love keeping things minimal during this season, I have switched to lightweight jewellery, avoiding metals that can tarnish or stick to the skin in humidity. I have also refreshed my balcony with monsoon-friendly plants like ferns and money plants—the sight of them swaying in the rain is so calming. My kitchen too is monsoon-ready, stocked with kadha ingredients, flavoured teas, roasted snacks, and everything comforting for a rainy day. For me, monsoon is all about embracing the weather while staying cosy, cheerful, and practical!”
