Cultural Minister Ashish Shelar Gives Muhurat Clap for a Marathi Film ‘Ladki Bahin’!

The highly anticipated Marathi film Ladki Bahin, inspired by the Maharashtra government’s acclaimed welfare initiative of the same name, was officially launched in a grand muhurat ceremony held in Satara. The ceremonial first clap was given by Maharashtra’s Minister of Cultural Affairs, #ShriAshishShelar, marking the beginning of this socially significant cinematic venture.

The film is being crafted under the banner of Om Sai Cine Film and presented by Shubham Film Production. It is jointly produced by Sheetal Ganesh Shinde, Babasaheb Patil, and Anil Vanve. Direction is helmed by #GaneshShinde, while the film’s story and dialogues are penned by Sheetal Shinde.

Drawing inspiration from the transformative ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme—which has empowered millions of women across the state with financial support and enhanced self-reliance—the film aims to reflect this progressive vision through an emotionally resonant and family-friendly narrative.

The muhurat event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Karad South MLA Atul Bhosale, Karad North MLA Manoj Ghorpade, Satara Collector Santosh Patil, SP Tushar Doshi, Vice President of Cultural Affairs Pankaj Chavan, along with Rajendra Mohite, Anant Kale, Mahesh Deshpande, and the local Tehsildar.

The producers emphasized that Ladki Bahin will blend meaningful storytelling with entertainment, showcasing the spirit of the scheme through relatable characters and engaging plotlines. The film features a stellar ensemble cast including veterans and popular names such as Mohan Joshi, Madhav Abhyankar, Shashank Shende, Vijay Patkar, Anil Nagarkar, Surekha Kudchi, Usha Nadkarni, Gautami Patil, Priya Berde, Rukmini Sutar, Bharat Ganeshpure, Jaywant Wadkar, Sarika Jadhav, and Jayshree Sonawale.

Cinematography duties are managed by Gajanan Shinde, with music composed by Vineet Deshpande. Playback singers Avadhoot Gupte and Anand Shinde will bring their powerful vocals to the soundtrack. Choreography is being handled by Pankaj Chavan, while Prashant Kabade and Shivaji Sawant serve as executive producers.

Ladki Bahin promises to be more than just a film—it is a celebration of women’s strength, resilience, and the ongoing journey towards empowerment.
