‘Oot’ Honored at Sri Lanka International Film Festival!

The upcoming Marathi film Oot continues to shine across international film festivals. After making its mark at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, the film has now bagged the award for Best Feature Film at the Sri Lanka International Film Festival 2025.

Expressing his joy, lead actor and producer Raj Misal said that the overwhelming response and recognition the film has been receiving worldwide is truly encouraging. He added that this honor is proof that their attempt to deliver a meaningful message through Oot has been successful.

Produced by Vera Films and written-directed by #RamMalik, Oot narrates a gripping tale of resistance against an unjust system, while also weaving in a tender love story. The film introduces a fresh pairing on the Marathi silver screen – Raj Misal and Arya Save in the lead roles.

Slated for release by the end of this year, Oot has already created a strong buzz. It has been officially selected and recognized at several prestigious national and international film festivals, including Malaysia Film Festival, Eastern Europe Film Festival, East Village New York Film Festival, Sinacine Film Festival, Sri Lanka International Film Festival, Manchester Film Festival, and Ahmedabad International Film Festival.

Even before its theatrical release, Oot has carved a niche for itself on the global stage, and it promises to be a unique milestone for Marathi cinema.
