Ajinkya Raut Plays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in ‘Abhang Tukaram’!

Some exceptionally talented artists have immortalized historical figures on the silver screen through their sheer hard work and dedication. Continuing this legacy, actor Ajinkya Raut is all set to portray a significant historical character for the first time on the big screen. In the upcoming film #AbhangTukaram, he will be seen essaying the role of young #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj. Directed by #DigpalLanjekar, the film Abhang Tukaram is slated to release on November 7. The film is presented by the renowned production house Panorama Studios, with Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Ajay Ashok Poorkar, and Digpal Lanjekar as producers, and Muralidhar Chatwani and Ravindra Auti as co-producers.

Ajinkya, who has entertained audiences through various television shows and films, has already earned immense love from viewers. Speaking about his new role, Ajinkya Raut said, “Portraying the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj — my revered deity — is truly a matter of great fortune and pride for me. Bringing such a legendary personality to life on screen comes with immense responsibility, and I’m grateful to my entire team for their constant support in helping me do justice to it.”

The film Abhang Tukaram beautifully captures the spiritual essence and profound meaning of life hidden in Saint Tukaram’s divine verses.

The story and dialogues of the film are penned by Yogesh Soman, while Digpal Lanjekar has handled the screenplay and direction. Sandeep Shinde is the cinematographer, and Sagar Shinde and Vinay Shinde are the editors. Makeup is by Atul Maske, and costumes are designed by Saurabh Kamble. Music composition and background score are by Mayur Raut, with sound design by Nikhil Lanjekar and Himanshu Ambekar. Action sequences are choreographed by Babbu Khanna, while dance direction is by Sumit Salunkhe. Art direction is managed by Pratik Radies and Sanjay Karole, and post-production is handled by Sachin Bhillare. Shock and Awe Films is responsible for VFX, and Catalyst Creates for visual promotions. Jay Gotecha of Cineman Entertainment serves as the marketing director, and Ketaki Gadre Abhyankar is the executive producer.
