‘Seher Hone Ko Hai’ Actress Rishita Kothari Talks About Selection After a Long Audition Journey!

#RishitaKotharis journey to Seher Hone Ko Hai is a heartfelt tale of patience, persistence, and unwavering faith in destiny. After moving to Mumbai nearly a year ago with dreams in her eyes, the actress faced a phase familiar to many outsiders in the industry relentless auditions, near-final selections, and opportunities that slipped away at the last moment.

Reflecting on that period, Rishita shares, “After coming to Mumbai, I gave a lot of auditions. I was shortlisted for many projects and almost finalized for some, but things just didn’t materialize. At that time, it does affect you emotionally, but I always felt that maybe those roles weren’t meant for me. I truly believe timing plays a very important role in this industry.”

The turning point came when she least expected it. While on a short vacation in Lonavala with her friends, away from the chaos of the city, Rishita received an audition call for Seher Hone Ko Hai. Talking about that moment, she says, “It was completely random. I was in Lonavala when I got the audition call, and I sent my audition from there itself. That was the first round, and when I got selected, it honestly felt surreal. I remember thinking, okay, maybe something is finally moving.”

Rishita adds that the real test began after clearing the initial round. “Once the first audition went through, I was called to the office for the second round, then the third round, and eventually mock shoots. I did mock shoots with Mahhi ma’am and Parth, and each round came with its own pressure. You constantly question yourself whether you’re doing enough, whether you’ll make it to the final stage.”

She further says that the emotional toll of waiting was one of the toughest parts of the journey. “The waiting period is the hardest. Rejections and delays can really drain you emotionally. There were moments when I felt exhausted, but somewhere inside, I kept reminding myself why I came to Mumbai in the first place.”

Speaking about finally being selected, Rishita states, “When I was told I had been finalized for Sehar, it felt unreal. After so many rounds and so much waiting, getting that confirmation call was overwhelming. It made me realize that every audition, every rejection, and every delay was leading me here.”

Today, as Seher Hone Ko Hai continues to receive immense love and her character Sehar resonates deeply with viewers, Rishita feels nothing but gratitude. She concludes, “This city gave me a chance, and this city gave me Sehar, a character that is now becoming popular and loved. The response to the show has been beautiful, and playing Sehar feels incredibly special. When I look back, all the waiting, the struggles, and the self-doubt finally feel worth it.”
