Rani Mukerji thanks audience as Mardaani 3 collects 28 crore worldwide in 3 days!
Yash Raj Films’ hit franchise #Mardaani3, starring Rani Mukerji, grew by 81 percent from Friday to Sunday, taking total India collections to 17.25 crore in 3 days and worldwide collections to 28 crore gross (India 21 crore gross and overseas 7 crore gross)! The huge jumps that Mardaani 3 witnessed day on day, coupled with unanimously positive word of mouth, Mardaani 3 is set to spread its hard hitting message to many in the days to come.
On opening day, Mardaani 3 had surpassed all expectations by becoming the biggest opener for Mardaani franchise & solo Rani Mukerji film. It collected 4 crore on Day 1 to register a mind-blowing start for a female-led film in India! It registered a strong 50% jump on Day 2, despite a cluttered and competitive marketplace, underlining positive audience response. On day 3, it jumped again by 21 percent from Saturday and collected 7.25 crore nett!
Rani is overwhelmed with the response audience has had to Mardaani 3’s hard hitting social message. She says, “The love you have shown for Mardaani 3 is overwhelming – not just for me as an actor but for what this film represents. This film belongs to every viewer who believes that cinema can do more than entertain…it can maybe speak to our conscience.”
She adds, “For years, the Mardaani franchise has told stories that are uncomfortable, urgent and necessary. These stories exist because the reality they reflect still exists around us. Every daughter of this country deserves safety, dignity, education and the freedom to dream without fear.”
Rani further says, “If Mardaani 3 has moved you, disturbed you, or made you think – then it has done its job. Discomfort is where change begins. Our girls do not need our sympathy. They need our protection. They need our courage. They need our voices right now and not tomorrow because just a film alone cannot bring change. Change begins in our homes, in our schools, in our streets. It begins when we teach our sons how to respect, when we empower our daughters with confidence and when we stand up for a girl child who cannot stand up for herself.”
Rani feels, “I hope this film reminds us that courage is not just worn on a police uniform – it lives in everyday choices made by ordinary people who decide to do the right thing. Thank you for embracing this story. I’m truly humbled by how Mardaani 3’s message has connected with the audience.”
Mardaani 3 opened with a calibrated, controlled release, largely focused on metro and urban centres, prioritising longevity over front-loaded numbers.
Mardaani 3 joins the elite list of Hindi thrillers to achieve clear theatrical traction in the post-pandemic era, a genre that has otherwise struggled theatrically.
Rani Mukerji’s pull in theatres is undeniable as she continues to draw audiences as a solo leading lady, marking a rare feat in her 30th year in the film industry and reinforcing her sustained box-office credibility.
