Pooja Sawant to play a fierce, fearless, and strong-headed police officer in ‘Saalbardi’!

Seeing a leading Marathi actress don the police uniform is relatively rare. However, breaking that stereotype, Pooja Sawant will be seen portraying a fierce, fearless, and strong-headed police officer in the upcoming Marathi film Saalbardi. She plays the role of P.I. Manorama Pradhan. Recently, the gripping teaser and impactful character posters of Saalbardi were unveiled in style, significantly heightening audience anticipation.

At the launch event, Pooja made a dashing entry, offering a glimpse into her powerful character. She has put in special effort to prepare for the role, carefully studying the body language, authoritative dialogue delivery, and disciplined demeanor of police officers. To ensure authenticity, she interacted with real-life police officials and closely observed their working style.

Speaking about her role, Pooja shared, “The moment you wear the uniform, a certain aura and authority come naturally. You don’t have to artificially portray it—the uniform itself carries immense strength. I believe this role of mine will inspire every woman.”

Thrilling stunts and high-octane action sequences will be among the major highlights of Saalbardi, which is set to release worldwide on April 17.
Set in the remote village of Saalbardi in Maharashtra, the film revolves around mysterious, eerie, and unsettling incidents that unfold there. Produced under the banner of Nebula Films, the film is backed by producers Anil Devde Patil, Dr. Gajanan Jadhav, and Ram Jadhav, while the directorial reins are helmed by Ramesh Sahebrao Choudhary.

The cinematography and editing are handled by Siddhesh Santosh More. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Rohit Shukre, with lyrics by Guru Thakur and Mukund Bhalerao, set to music by Padmanabh Gaikwad. The background score is composed by Amar Mohile. The songs are rendered by Ajay Gogavale, Javed Ali, and Anandi Joshi. Choreography is by Phulwa Khamkar and Ashish Patil. Deepak Kudale Patil serves as the executive producer, with costumes by Pranita Chindge, makeup by Shrinivas Menugade, and art direction by Pradeep Gurav.
