Teaser of ‘Kathanar’ featuring Jayasurya, Anushka Shetty and Prabhudeva out now!
“Kathanar” is the next directorial venture of #RojinThomas after the National Award-winning film “Home,” starring Indrans. Coming five years after the release of “Home,” the same creative team has reunited for this film, showcasing the excellence born out of their five years of effort. The teaser trailer of the big-budget film “Kathanar,” produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies, is out now.
The previously released first look and glimpse video had already raised expectations that the film would offer a grand cinematic experience elevating Indian cinema to another level. The teaser trailer now lives up to those expectations. Alongside Jayasurya in the titular role, the film also stars Telugu Actress Anushka Shetty, Prabhudeva, Sanoop San, Sandy, Devika, Nitish Bharadwaj, Vineeth, Harish Uthaman, Sreekanth Murali, and Kulpreet Yadav in prominent roles. The film will be released in Hindi Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, English and 8 other international languages.
The movie presents the character through a deeply researched and fresh narrative style. With a visual language distinct from the usual period fantasy films, the story is set in the ninth century.
Directed by Rojin Thomas, the film is written jointly by R. Ramanand and Rojin Thomas. The post-production works of this grand-scale film, touted as one of the biggest ever in Indian cinema, is currently in their final stages. The teaser trailer hints at a world of wonders never before seen by Indian audiences.
Baiju Gopalan and V.C. Praveen are the co-producers, while Krishnamoorthy serves as the executive producer. With visuals reminiscent of Hollywood standards, impressive VFX, and a powerful background score composed by Rahul Subrahmanyan, the teaser delivers a remarkable experience. The costumes, makeup, art direction, and sound design are all crafted differently from the period films audiences are accustomed to.
Director Rojin Thomas stated that, “The film has reached this level of quality through the daily efforts of around 500 people working across various departments for nearly five years.”
Rojin Thomas also added that, “The courage and vision shown by Gokulam Gopalan and executive producer Krishnamoorthy in backing such a massive project deserve appreciation.” He further noted that, “The consistent support of the production team throughout the five-year-long process, along with actor Jayasurya dedicating nearly four years of his career to this film, made it possible to achieve its current scale and quality.”
He emphasized that every department of the film was crafted with the intention of delivering the best possible output.
