Cultivating a Cultural Movement Beyond Film, the Creators of Ramayana Launch a Massive School Outreach Drive Starting July 9: “We Wanted Children to Experience the Epic.”
With a footprint across 400+ schools, 18 cities and 5 lakh+ students, the campaign is designed to take the epic’s legacy to young audiences ahead of the film’s theatrical release
In a historic cultural outreach initiative, the creative team behind Ramayana is rolling out a massive nationwide school activation campaign starting July 9. The groundbreaking drive aims to bring the core values, spirit, and timeless legacy of India’s most revered epic straight to the younger generation across the country.
Conceptualised as an immersive engagement programme for students, the campaign will span 400+ schools across 18 cities, with an expected reach of 5 lakh+ students. As part of the initiative, children will participate in specially designed activities inspired by the world of Ramayana, including drawing and creative expression exercises, quiz competitions, and interactive discussions that encourage them to engage with the epic alongside their families. Through these activities, the campaign aims to spark conversations between children and parents around the values, stories and cultural legacy of Ramayana. Built around the thought “Hamara Satya. Hamara Itihaas.”, the activation seeks to introduce a new generation to the enduring power of the epic through participation, creativity and storytelling.
The initiative marks a significant step in the larger build-up to Ramayana, the cinematic retelling of the Indian epic being mounted on a global scale by filmmaker #NiteshTiwari and producer #NamitMalhotra. Envisioned as a two-part theatrical event, Ramayana Part One is a landmark big-screen spectacle that seeks to bring one of India’s most revered stories to audiences across the world with scale, emotion and cutting-edge visual storytelling.
Speaking about the school activation campaign, the makers of Ramayana said, “Ramayana has lived on for generations through stories, values and shared memory. With this school outreach initiative, our endeavour is to take that legacy to young minds in an engaging and meaningful way. As we build towards bringing Ramayana to the big screen, we wanted children to experience the epic not just as mythology they have heard of, but as a story of courage, duty, love and righteousness that continues to inspire even today.”
The school campaign is designed to create an early and meaningful touchpoint for students with the world of Ramayana, while also celebrating the epic’s place in India’s cultural fabric. Spanning multiple cities, the initiative is expected to drive widespread participation and build a strong youth connect for the film in the months leading up to its release.
Drawing inspiration from one of the most celebrated epics of all time, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is set to recreate its timeless emotions and grandeur on a massive cinematic scale. The film features #RanbirKapoor as Lord Ram and #SaiPallavi as Sita, while Rocking Star #Yash takes on the role of Ravana. #SunnyDeol portrays Hanuman, with #RaviDubey stepping into the role of Lakshman.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with 8-time Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part epic will release in IMAX worldwide — Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
