Huma Qureshi Expresses Pride as Hard-Hitting Drama Bayaan Heads to IFFM 2026 for Its Australian Debut!

Actor Huma Qureshi expressed her delight as her upcoming feature Bayaan prepares to make its Australian debut at the 2026 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). Written and directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, the intense Hindi police procedural will be featured in the festival’s official program, bringing a compelling narrative of justice and accountability to Melbourne audiences.

In Bayaan, Huma essays the role of Roohi, a determined police officer investigating her first major case involving a powerful cult leader accused of sexual abuse. As the investigation unfolds, she finds herself navigating institutional resistance, reluctant witnesses and the complexities of pursuing justice.

Speaking about the film’s Australian premiere, Huma Qureshi said, “Bayaan is one of the most challenging and emotionally rewarding films I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of.
