Sonal Productions’ ‘Jar Tar Chi Goshta’ reaches its 400th performance & ‘Aamchya Pidhichi Goshtach Vegli!’ marks its 50th!
Sonal Productions known for carrying forward the tradition of quality, meaningful Marathi theatre established by shows like “Goshta Tashi Gamtichi,” “Perfect Mismatch,” “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” and “Dada, Ek Good News Aahe” is currently enjoying widespread acclaim for two of its plays. Both Jar Tar Chi Goshta and Aamchya Pidhichi Goshtach Vegli! have been winning hearts across Maharashtra and abroad, and their successful runs continue unabated. Notably, Jar Tar Chi Goshta will celebrate its 400th performance on 16 August at 11:00 AM at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Prabhadevi, while Aamchya Pidhichi Goshtach Vegli! will present its 50th performance on 30 August at 4:00 PM at Dinanath Natya Gruha in Vile Parle, adding two more honours to Sonal Productions’ crown.
Presented by Priya Bapat and produced by Nandu Kadam, Jar Tar Chi Goshta quickly carved out a place in audiences’ hearts thanks to its unique subject and the ensemble’s powerful performances. Written by Iravati Karnik and directed by Adwait Dadarkar, the play has been housefull across Mumbai, Pune, various parts of Maharashtra, and has also received enthusiastic responses outside the state and overseas. Anticipation is high among theatre lovers for the play’s 400th show.
Similarly, presented by Priya Bapat and produced by Nandu Kadam, Aamchya Pidhichi Goshtach Vegli! has established its own identity on stage. The play humorously explores the lives, beliefs, and relationships of three generations within one family, and it too has been warmly received throughout Maharashtra and beyond. Its 50th performance on 30 August will be a milestone. The cast includes Sunil Barve, Harshada Khanvilkar, Akshar Kothari, Sharmila Rajaram Shinde, Shantanu Thawali, and Vaishnavi Ambawane in key roles. The play is written by Amol Patil and directed by Adwait Dadarkar.

Jar Tar Chi Goshta examines the complexities of youth—love, expectations, and changing inner worlds—while Aamchya Pidhichi Goshtach Vegli! gently comments on the bonds, beliefs, and shifting lifestyles across three generations.
