Actor-Producer Sohum Shah Revisits The Iconic Tumbbad Wada, Returning To The Nostalgic Location For ‘Tumbbad 2’

Amidst the ever-soaring excitement for Tumbbad 2, actor-producer Sohum Shah has revived the rich nostalgia of the original film by sharing pictures from his recent visit to the wada where Tumbbad was shot. Posing at the iconic front doorway and sitting on the steps, Shah gave fans a trip down memory lane back to where the dark atmospheric story first began.

The wada was the central epicentre of Tumbbad’s storyline, housing the Goddess’s womb and serving as the focal point for Hastar’s mythology. Interestingly, during a location recce for the sequel, the production team discovered the original aate ki gudiya (dough doll) moulds left untouched at the location since the original shoot years ago.

Following its cult status built after 2018 and a remarkably successful 2024 re-release, Tumbbad 2 has already generated massive anticipation with major new additions to its ensemble. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Alia Bhatt have joined the cast alongside Sohum Shah in pivotal roles.

Spearheaded by Sohum Shah under his banner Sohum Shah Films in collaboration with Dr. Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios, Tumbbad 2 is directed by Adesh Prasad. The sequel is slated for a grand theatrical release on December 3, 2027.
