Kunal Kemmu Reveals Preity G Zinta’s Soldier Callback in the VIBE Teaser Was Totally Unscripted

Often, the most memorable cinematic moments happen completely by accident. In the #VIBE teaser, #PreityGZintas character, Madam H, instructs Kunal Kemmu’s Hardik to “Come on now, be a soldier,” before making her exit—spontaneously delivering a fun callback to her classic hit Soldier. The dialogue wasn’t anywhere in the screenplay, and Kemmu noted that the crew didn’t even catch the reference initially. It was only during the editing process that they realized they had stumbled upon an ideal meta moment that simply had to stay in the final cut.

Sharing how the unexpected moment came about, Kunal Kemmu shares, “It wasn’t a line that was written by the way, because, like, it wasn’t a line that she was also supposed to say. She improvised that line.”

Kunal adds, “Her line was, come on Hardik, kya kar rahe ho, mard bano, be a man, aur unhone jaate jaate bola, come on now, be a soldier, aur chale gaye. Aur mere flow mein pata nahi kaha se agaya, kaise soldier banunga, Bobby Deol hun kya mein, aur woh cut hogaya. Aur woh kisike dhyaan mein bhi nahi tha, woh script mein tha hi nahi. Toh fir humne dekha, bola, arey yeh toh meta hogaya. Chalo, raakhte hai isko”

VIBE is a high-stakes action comedy written and directed by Kunal Kemmu. The film is produced by Kunal Kemmu and Chirag Nihalani under the banner of Drongo Films and follows two inseparable friends whose ordinary lives spiral into an unpredictable adventure, pushing their survival instincts and friendship to the limit. Bringing together high-stakes action, character-driven comedy, infectious music, and an ensemble cast with a vibe of its own, the film is headlined by Kemmu alongside Preity G Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Vanshika Dhir, and features Yashpal Sharma and Dinesh Lal Yadav in pivotal roles.
