“Mind Is Blown!” – Karan Johar Teases An Exceptional Diwali Spectacle After Early Peek at Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana: Part 1’

Karan Johar took to Instagram to share his excitement for #Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, promising an exceptional cinematic experience this festive season.

Anticipation surrounding Nitesh Tiwari’s grand cinematic masterpiece, Ramayana: Part 1, has hit an all-time high following an glowing endorsement from producer-director Karan Johar. Taking to his Instagram Stories, Karan posted his enthusiastic first reaction after attending an exclusive early screening, further fueling the intense fan frenzy ahead of the film’s theatrical debut. Keeping it short yet impactful, Karan expressed his absolute awe for the scale and vision of the project. Sharing his reaction, he wrote, “Mind is blown! Won’t say anymore! All I will say is that it’s going to be a very, very exceptionally HAPPY DIWALI.” His words have instantly added to the massive buzz surrounding the film as it prepares for one of the biggest theatrical releases of the year.

For the unversed, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is handling the North Indian theatrical distribution for the film in the Hindi-speaking market, having joined hands with co-producers Namit Malhotra (DNEG) and Yash (Monster Mind Creations). Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 features a star-studded ensemble led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. Mounted on an unprecedented scale, the film promises groundbreaking visual effects along with a powerful musical score jointly composed by Academy Award winners AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

Ramayana: Part 1 is set for a massive global theatrical release on November 5, 2026, across multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and English, with screenings planned in IMAX and premium formats. The second part of the two-film cinematic event is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
