Veteran Actor Pradeep Velankar’s Book ‘Manapasun’ Unveiled in a Grand Ceremony in Mumbai; Celebrities Attend in Full Strength!

Having won over hearts for decades through his stellar acting performances, veteran actor Pradeep Velankar is now set to connect with readers through the literary world. Tracing his rich realm of experiences, cherished memories, and worldview, the book launch of ‘Manapasun’ took place with immense enthusiasm on Sunday, November 1, at the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Natyagruha in Mumbai. Attended by prominent personalities from literature, theatre, and cinema, the event celebrated Velankar’s literary foray and reflected the immense affection he commands within the fraternity. Overwhelmed by the warmth of those present, Pradeep Velankar expressed his deep gratitude, calling the launch an emotionally resonant milestone. Published by Granthali, the cover of the book has been creatively conceptualized by actress, director, and advertising professional Meera Velankar.
Expressing his feelings, Velankar said, “Today is not a day to speak, but to experience. There is immense joy today, but equal pressure on my mind. I am fully aware that being called an author is a title of great magnitude and height. I humbly acknowledge that I am still far from that literary peak. I have made a sincere effort in ‘Manapasun’ to document what I have experienced since childhood. I have honestly tried to articulate my life’s journey into words, and I am confident that you will accept these experiences with equal warmth and affection. The response from readers will surely bring me immense satisfaction.” Expressing gratitude to the guests, he added, “Everyone present here has come out of sheer love for me. The value of this affection is truly priceless. I am deeply thankful to everyone for taking the time to share this joyful moment with me.”
Sharing her thoughts, Rajani Velankar said, “We built our home with honesty and responsibility. Witnessing his journey closely both as his life partner and co-artist, seeing him write this book brings me immense happiness. I am proud that he gave words to his life experiences. I will definitely read this book and share my feedback with him.”
Expressing pride in her father’s perspective on life, daughter Gauri Velankar shared, “Our father might not have received everything he wished for in life, but he gave back to life abundantly. We are truly proud of his journey and the values he has held dear.”
Pradeep Velankar’s joy was shared by his wife Rajani Velankar, daughters Gauri, Meera, and Madhura, along with his grandchildren. The presence of the entire Velankar family lent a warm, familial touch to the celebration. Co-actors present shared nostalgic anecdotes about working with Velankar, praising his amiable nature, dedication to craft, and warm relationships with colleagues. Notably, selected passages from the book were read aloud in soulful renditions by actors Subodh Bhave, Sumeet Raghavan, and Umesh Kamat.
The official unveiling was carried out by veteran actresses Suhas Joshi, Vandana Gupte, Ila Bhate, Ujwala Jog, and Rajani Velankar. Musical performances by Archana Gore, Mandar Apte, and Prajakta Ranade added melodic charm to the evening, which was anchored seamlessly by Dr. Sameera Gujar.
