Upendra Limaye’s Voice Adds a Special Charm to a Song from ‘Chikeezing’!

The upcoming Marathi film ‘Chikeezing’ offers audiences an opportunity to revisit the innocence of childhood through mischievous antics, imaginative adventures, moments of fear and the many vibrant emotions that shape a child’s world. After a long time, a Marathi film that places the world of children at its heart is all set to entertain audiences, creating considerable curiosity. Blending the rustic charm of rural life with the imaginative world of children, playful mischief and wholesome entertainment, the film’s new song, ‘Chala Chala Mamachya Gavala…’, has been released in association with Video Palace. Featuring the voice of actor Upendra Limaye, the song captures the playful flavour of rural dialects, the fears lurking in young minds and a series of amusing situations. Written and directed by Rajendra Bagate and Vaibhav Kulkarni, the film will hit theatres on November 19.

Presented by Dippak Wani and Jaiprakash Bhande, the film is produced by A Themeteam Studio Production in association with Keyframe Production. Supriya Bagate has taken charge of the production, while Shabbir Sabuwala, Rachana Vora, Hrishikesh Deshmukh, Sid Vinsurkar, Karan Chavan and Umesh Kulkarni are the co-producers. Rajendra Bagate and Vaibhav Kulkarni have handled the writing and direction of the film.

The biggest highlight of the song ‘Chala Chala Mamachya Gavala…’ is undoubtedly Upendra Limaye’s voice! Going beyond simply lending his voice to the lyrics, he brings the song alive through his expressive vocal variations, stern delivery, mischievous laughter and dialogue delivery in the distinct styles of different characters. The dramatic quality of his voice transforms the song into a delightful little story in itself.

Penned by Satish Tandale, the song beautifully blends the authentic flavour of rural dialects with straightforward expressions and playful humour. It humorously portrays situations in which a mischievous boy, who constantly avoids studying, is threatened and taught the importance of discipline. Hrishikesh Kulkarni’s music adds a melodious touch to the drama. The energetic rhythm, the sweetness of children’s songs and the changing background score that complements the suspenseful moments keep the song musically engaging throughout.

The visual composition makes beautiful use of simple rural homes, traditional tiled-roof houses, open fields and picturesque surroundings. Child actor Krushnaraj Waingade, who plays ‘Chikya’, strikes a wonderful balance between facial expressions, the fear in his mind and his innocent mischief. From waking up startled from a dream to his conversations with his mother and sister, he displays a natural flair for acting across various scenes. The camera angles effectively capture both the vastness of the rural landscape and the fear in the little boy’s mind.

The performances of Prabhakar More, Sejal Kore, Amruta Suresh, Gayatri Deshpande, Aditya Ghanshyam, Rahul Kulkarni, Dr. Sonali Ghatnekar and child actor Krushnaraj Waingade further enrich the film’s characters. Pravin Sonawane has handled cinematography, while Shekhar Gurav and S. Shankar are in charge of editing. The film also benefits from the music of Shrinidhi Venkat and Hrishikesh Kulkarni. Suresh Kumbhar has efficiently handled the art direction and costume design.

Bringing together the fun and innocence of childhood, the rustic essence of rural life and the charm of imaginative adventures, ‘Chikeezing’ is all set to arrive in theatres on November 19.
