Sakhhe Shejari

A rightful home, a hand of support, and a neighbor who rushes to help is lucky destiny. It is said that a close neighbour is closer than a distant relative. The first thing we remember in difficult times is the neighbour. They are with us in happy moments, they strongly support us in sorrow and that is why these neighbours make us feel like our friends. But the right neighbour comes running right away. Relatives visit during the festivals, but affectionate relationship is formed with neighbours on daily basis. Some of our neighbours are strongly associated with our household happenings and that is why we call them ‘Sakhhe Shejari’. For the first time, Colors Marathi is bringing a brand new show to show how much we know about our dear neighbors, how much we know about their difficulties and to celebrate our intimate relationship with these neighbors.  ‘Sakhhe Shejari’ starts airing from 11th January Mon – Sat evening 6.30 pm. The show is being produced by OMG Offbeat Media Guide and Maharashtra’s beloved artist Chinmay Udgirkar will be the host of the programme.

Till today we have seen family members, housewives, their husbands contesting with each other, but the two neighbours have never been seen playing side by side with each other.  Now, for the first time, neighbours, who has shared each others’ happiness as well as difficulties will have a blast. The programme will be attended by two families who have lived close to each other for many years, who are indebted to each other, who have witnessed worldly affairs, who live nearby or in the same society. In this programme, some fun games, interesting tasks will be presented to experience how close the relationship is between the two neighbours. The families who will give accurate information about their neighbors will be the winners of that section. The winning family will receive 50 household items, designer nameplates and a chance to win cash in the game. Another feature of this programme is that Chinmay Udgikar will be entertaining the families participating in the programme, will learn some interesting things about them.

Speaking about the programme, Deepak Rajadhyaksha, Programming Head, Marathi Television, Viacom 18, said, “Neighbours are considered as a religion in our Marathi culture. It means responsibility, love, positivity which is expected in a relationship. Neighbourhood is a treasure trove of rich relationships. Faced with an epidemic like the Corona, the biggest support was from the neighbours. The relatives were far away but the neighbour was standing firmly nearby. Even in Maharashtra, there are many relative-like neighbors who have no blood relationship but have a ‘rightful’ life relationship. We will bring some such selected ‘Sakhhe Shejari’ this programme for entertaining the audience. Colors Marathi has always brought various many variety of programmes for the benefit of audience from every walk of life through various colourful, different genre programmes. But when looking for diversity in a relationship, the neighbour’s relationship is very close, and  of different shades. A very different but still unique programme that sheds light on the unique relationship in our life is ‘Sakhhe Shejari’.”

Speaking about the programme, Chinmay Udgirkar said, “I wanted to do something different for many years.  I am very happy to have the opportunity to do a different event like ‘Sakhhe Shejari’.  I have essayed many roles through which met the audience. I have a very close relationship with Colors Marathi and I am very happy to be associated with this family once again. Today, the audience fell in love with me. Now, through this programme on Colors Marathi, I am going to meet the audience in a new role, which is a kind of challenge for me. It is very special for me to have the opportunity to be a part of their family through this programme. Not only that, I am going to take Colors Marathi to people’s homes and make their family bigger by becoming a part of Colors Marathi family. In fact, I am also very curious that the audience who have loved me for so many years will actually get a chance to meet me as Chinmay Udgikar. I’m sure the audience will love it this time too.”

Neighbours who take care of their neighbours, who bring their lives to life, will come to visit the audience through this programme. Since the audience in Maharashtra also feels the same relationship with their neighbours, the dialogue between the two neighbors in the show, their bonds, their heartfelt memories will surely appeal to the audience, like Nivruti Pawar of Kandivali who sells new cars to his neighbours. Mhatre and Bhoir families who share neighbour-bond for the last 150 years, as well as Manta and Simhasane Parivar.

So let’s join this festival of Neighbours through the programme ‘Sakhhe Shejari’ from 11th January Mon – Sat evening 6.30 on Colors Marathi.
