Tumbadchi Manjula

A spellbinding poster of Zee Studios’ ‘Tumbadchi Manjula’ out!

A new film from Zee Studios, ‘Tumbadchi Manjula’, has been announced, and a poster that has dramatically increased viewers’ curiosity has been unveiled. When we think of Konkan, we immediately picture its scenic landscapes, beautiful seashores, and countless mysterious, folklore-like stories, along with village gossip woven around them. Discussions about ghosts and spirits have always been a favorite form of entertainment for rural folk, and many people love to exaggerate tiny incidents into grand tales. In this very kind of eerie atmosphere, and in a way that suits Konkan’s traditions, Zee Studios is bringing a very interesting story for its audience.

The film is titled Tumbadchi Manjula, and on the day of Holi, a unique motion poster of the movie was released on social media. This has generated tremendous excitement about the film. The poster shows a mysterious face peeking from behind a half-closed door, with several hands trapped between the two door shutters, as if they are desperately trying to get out of the house, making the poster extremely intriguing. The film is set to release on 5 June, which is World Environment Day.Notably, this is a complete in-house Zee Studios production, and it also marks the directorial debut of a new, promising filmmaker, Vividh Koregaonkar. The film is produced by Umeshkumar Bansal and Bhavesh Janvalekar on behalf of Zee Studios.Who are the actors in this film? What exactly is the story? And who is this Manjula of Tumbad? All of this is still under wraps.

Speaking about the new film, Zee Studios Marathi Business Head Bhavesh Janvalekar says, “The Marathi audience is, at the same time, very modern in thought yet deeply connected to their soil and roots. That is why even today, stories that speak of their native land and its traditions always appeal to them. Our film Dashavatar, released last year, is a fine example of this. Tumbadchi Manjula too will offer a distinct, rural, rooted experience to the audience. For now, we have brought the teaser poster to viewers. Gradually, we will reveal more elements from the film, which will only heighten their curiosity. We are especially happy that after quite a long gap, we are bringing a film fully produced by Zee Studios.”

From its very first poster, Tumbadchi Manjula has become a hot topic of discussion on social media, and the film will arrive in theatres on 5 June.
