Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan made an exception to attend Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards, Find Out Why?

Aamir Khan is one of the biggest and finest superstars of Bollywood, known for consistently delivering exceptional performances. While the superstar has played many noteworthy roles, he is also among the few actors who refrain from attending award functions. Although it has been a long time since he last appeared at any award event, he made an exception for the late legendary #LataMangeshkar, attending the #MasterDinanathMangeshkarAwards in her honour.

Aamir Khan, who is known for staying away from award shows, attended one after 16 years when Lata Mangeshkar personally invited him. He was honoured with the Vishesh Puraskar for his brilliant performance in Dangal.

Moreover, RK Laxman Award will be presented to Aamir in Pune on November 23, 2025, accompanied by a live concert by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. The ceremony will begin at 5 PM at the MCA Cricket Stadium, where music and memories will come together to honour the cartoonist who created one of India’s most loved characters, The Common Man.

The late R.K. Laxman remains one of India’s most beloved cartoonists. Best known for his iconic cartoon strip You Said It and his creation The Common Man, Laxman skillfully captured the humour, irony, and everyday struggles of ordinary Indians, making people smile, think, and reflect all at once.

He also created the sketches for the classic TV series Malgudi Days, written by his brother R.K. Narayan. Over his lifetime, he received several honours, including the Padma Bhushan, the Padma Vibhushan, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Mysore.

Furthermore, Aamir Khan is set to receive the first-ever RK Laxman Award for Excellence, which was recently announced. Instituted by the family of RK Laxman, Aamir Khan will be the very first recipient of this prestigious honour.
