Adarsh Gourav

Adarsh Gourav makes his solo playback singing debut on screen with ‘Tu Yaa Main,’!

For Adarsh Gourav, performance goes far beyond dialogue and physicality, it extends deeply into rhythm, sound, and music. In his upcoming film Tu Yaa Main, the actor takes a significant creative leap by lending his voice to a rap track, titled Jee Liye marking his solo playback singing debut for a feature film. The song has been Co-composed and produced by Aditya Narain Written by Chakori Dwivedi. True to his approach as a performer, this musical foray is not a standalone experiment but an organic extension of the character he portrays and the story being told.

Adarsh has always believed that music is a powerful narrative tool, one that can express inner conflicts, emotional states, and unspoken thoughts in ways words often cannot. His decision to sing for Tu Yaa Main stems from this belief – using music as a storytelling device rather than a performative add-on.

Speaking at length about his relationship with music and what this debut means to him, Adarsh Gourav shares, “Music has always been a very personal space for me. I don’t see it as something separate from acting in fact, I feel it’s deeply connected to how I understand emotion, rhythm, and character. When Tu Yaa Main came to me, the idea of the character expressing himself through a rap track felt incredibly honest and instinctive. It wasn’t about becoming a singer for the sake of it; it was about letting the character speak in the language that felt most authentic to his world.”

Adarsh continues, “Rap, especially, allows you to articulate raw thoughts, contradictions, anger, vulnerability, and truth all at once. Recording this track was as emotionally demanding as shooting a scene – it required me to be completely present, stripped of artifice. I wanted the voice to sound lived-in, imperfect, and real, because that’s how the character is. For me, music is not an add-on to performance; it’s another layer of storytelling. If it helps deepen the audience’s understanding of who this person is and what he’s feeling, then it has served its purpose. This experience has been both terrifying and fulfilling, and it’s definitely opened up a new creative dimension for me.”

With Tu Yaa Main, Adarsh Gourav once again reinforces his reputation as an actor unafraid to blur boundaries and explore new creative territories. His playback singing debut adds yet another dimension to his evolving artistic journey.
