“Anandi”, a new inspirational serial, to air on Star Pravah from 16th March!
Star Pravah has consistently entertained audiences with shows rooted in social, emotional, and realistic themes, and is now ready with another heart-touching story. True to its title, this new series tells the story of Anandi, a young woman who loses her eyesight in an accident but still looks at life with a highly positive attitude. Though she cannot see the world with her eyes, Anandi experiences it fully with her heart and heightened sensitivity, turning her blindness from a weakness into her greatest strength. She intuitively understands things that others miss and is deeply compassionate, always eager to help those in need, living by the belief that sometimes the eyes can deceive, but the heart never does. Her ability to live life joyfully makes her stand apart from others.
Speaking about the new show, Star Pravah business head Satish Rajwade said that the channel always chooses stories with unique characters that resemble people around us, and that Anandi’s journey will inspire viewers as they see how a girl without sight but with vision perceives the world. He is confident that, true to her name, Anandi will spread happiness and win hearts, showing that one can live a positive life without giving in to despair. The series marks the television debut of newcomer Jaai Khandekar in the lead role of Anandi. Jaai, who has previously acted, directed, and written for theatre, finds this role to be a new and challenging experience. She says Anandi is, like her name, a cheerful girl and that this is not just a role but a feeling, as Anandi experiences with her heart what she cannot see with her eyes, and that is her real strength.
Calling the role a great honour and responsibility, Jaai shared that the team conducted a week-long workshop at an institute for visually impaired children, which allowed them to closely observe their daily lives and experiences, and she is confident viewers will feel a strong emotional connect with Anandi.
