Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhosale Unveiled the Poster of ‘Dharmarakshak Ahilyadevi Holkar – Ek Yug’!
In a proud moment for Maharashtra’s cultural legacy, the poster of the much-awaited Marathi historical film ‘Dharmarakshak Ahilyadevi Holkar – Ek Yug’ was unveiled in Pune by Hon. Member of Parliament #ShriChhatrapatiUdayanrajeBhosale, a direct descendant of #ChhatrapatiShivajiMaharaj.
The event was graced by the film’s entire team, including producer #SomanathShinde, presenter and co-producer #NitinDhawnePatil and director #SushantSonavale, who also penned the story.
Set to release across Maharashtra on May 23, the film pays tribute to the iconic ruler Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, a symbol of justice, wisdom, and valor. A revered historical figure from Malwa, Ahilyabai’s life will be brought to the screen with cinematic depth and authenticity.
Pune’s own cultural and historical legacy served as the perfect backdrop for the film’s launch, with Hon. Udayanraje Bhosale expressing his pride and admiration for the team’s dedication to reviving Maharashtra’s rich warrior heritage.
The title role is played by the talented Ashwini Mahangade, whose commanding presence is featured prominently in the poster. The cast also includes Rahul Raje, Suhas Jadhav, Sandesh Kadam, Suresh Vishwakarma, Anil Nagarkar, Sanjay Khapre, Sunil Godse, Sanjeevani Jadhav, and Shiva Rindani.
The film’s music, a strong cultural element, is composed by Shubham Patankar, with lyrics by Guru Thakur and Priyanka Shedge. A rousing powada by Nandesh Ump, along with songs sung by Sagar Bhosale, adds depth to the narrative.
The technical team includes Om Patil (Editor), Vinod Raje (DI), and VFX artists Salman Mulani and Sunit Vyas. The film is executive produced by Dada Shinde and Dhanaji Shinde.
Director Sushant Sonavale commented, “Ahilyabai’s legacy belongs not just to Malwa, but to all of Maharashtra. With Pune’s own deep-rooted history, this city is the ideal place to start our journey of bringing her story to the people.”
