Chitrangda Singh to play a female lead opposite Salman Khan in ‘Battle of Galwan’!
Chitrangda Singh has been confirmed as the female lead opposite #SalmanKhan in the much-anticipated war drama #BattleofGalwan, directed by #ApoorvaLakhia. The film, based on the heroic stand of Indian soldiers during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, has already generated significant buzz and Singh’s casting only adds to the excitement.
Reflecting on her long-awaited on-screen collaboration with Salman Khan, Chitrangda shared, “It feels incredibly special to be a part of Galwan. Few years ago, there was a remake of a Marathi project where I was supposed to work alongside Mr Khan, directed by #MaheshManjrekar. Unfortunately, the film never went on floors. I still remember Mr Khan saying there is always a next time to work together. After all these years, like he says, ‘Ek baar maine commitment kar di, toh main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta,’ and true to his word, he honoured that commitment.”
Chitrangda also praised director Apoorva Lakhia for trusting her with the role. “He could’ve cast any big star, but he placed his trust in my craft. I truly appreciate his faith in me and I’m proud to be part of a story as significant and powerful as the Battle of Galwan,” she added.
For Chitrangda, this role carries personal significance. Coming from an army background, her father is a retired army colonel, she grew up immersed in stories of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.
With its stirring subject and powerful cast, Battle of Galwan is poised to be one of the most impactful cinematic tributes to India’s armed forces in recent years.
