Evergreen Play “Shantecha Karta Chalu Aahe” Returns to the Stage Once Again!
Some plays create such a deep bond with audiences that they remain in their hearts forever, and “Shantecha Karta Chalu Aahe” is one such hugely popular and beloved play that is now making a comeback to theatre. After a brief break, the play is being presented again with fresh energy, and its performance is scheduled for 11 April at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Prabhadevi.
Presented by Ameya Vinod Khopkar, the play is produced under the banners of AVK Pictures and CG Group. It has been shaped under the precise direction of Vijay Kenkre and the witty writing of playwright Shrinivas Bhange, making audiences laugh till their sides ache while also commenting on the relationships in our lives. The music by Ajit Parab adds further colour to the production, while Swati Khopkar, Dinesh Khandagale and Ninad N. Battin are the producers. The cast features popular actors such as Priyadarshan Jadhav, Vikrant Kolpe, Sukanya Kalan, Rajesh Chitnis, Pradeep Joshi, Mayura Rande and Vishakha Subhedar.
Through the small and big events in a family, the play lightly explores relationships, the fun moments, misunderstandings and affection that unfold within them. That is why the play not only makes the audience laugh but also feels very relatable. Being completely family-oriented, it is a play worth watching together with everyone at home.
Director Vijay Kenkre says, “The stage is a live medium. Every performance is created anew by the audience’s breath, their laughter and their reactions. While reviving ‘Shantecha Karta Chalu Aahe’, we have tried to bring in a reflection of today’s times and greater maturity. This play will not only make audiences laugh but will leave a lasting impression on their minds.”
Producer Ameya Vinod Khopkar says, “Good content is not bound by time. The play became a hit earlier because of its honesty, and that honesty is just as alive today. We are presenting this play with renewed energy for the new generation as well as older theatre lovers. Our only wish is that audiences once again come and enjoy the magic of live theatre.”
Producer Dinesh Khandagale says, “I am genuinely delighted to be producing such a quality play. I always wanted to enter production with a project that had strong content, and that has been achieved through this play. The entire team of this play is excellent. The play has already been loved by audiences for a long time, so I am especially happy to be a part of such a popular production.”
All in all, “Shantecha Karta Chalu Aahe”, which balances humour and emotion, is ready once more to make its mark on the stage. This summer vacation, theatre lovers will get to enjoy light-hearted yet high-quality entertainment with their families.
