Nearly every film makes its way through the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with at least minor cuts or modifications. But Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah starrer The Vvaan has placed itself as a rare spectacle. The Examining Committee of the CBFC has passed the folklore fantasy spectacle with zero cuts and modifications, whether in audio or video.

There are times when the makers are asked by the CBFC to mention the title and credits in the language of the film or add an anti-drug ticker or advertisement at the beginning and during the intermission. However, The Vvaan becomes a sweet exception as even these changes were not sought. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 136.25 minutes, and the film has been granted a U/A 16+ Certificate.

Backed by some of the country’s most distinctive storytellers, The Vvaan brings together TVF’s Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and Ektaa Kapoor for a commercial film that attempts to take Indian folklore into a new cinematic space. While its world is rooted in folklore and fantasy, the film brings together adventure, mystery and humour to shape itself as a complete family entertainer. The ambition extends beyond the film, with The Legend of Vvaan comic book already introducing audiences to the larger folklore surrounding its universe.
