First Reactions to ‘The Bone Temple’ Hail Horror Sequel as ‘The Movie of the Year’!

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2025 horror sequel 28 Years Later, is generating intense buzz ahead of its January 16, 2026 theatrical release. Early reactions from press screenings and social media are overwhelmingly positive, with many viewers labeling it one of the most thrilling and ambitious horror films in years.

Directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Alex Garland, The Bone Temple picks up after the events of 28 Years Later, expanding the world beyond the familiar infected threat to explore cult psychology, faith, trauma, and moral ambiguity.

Critics and early viewers at advance screenings have praised The Bone Temple as “arguably the best entry in the franchise”, highlighting its intensity, bold creativity, and emotional depth. Starring Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, and Alfie Williams, the film is directed by Nia Da’Costa. Sony Pictures Entertainment India releases the film in India on 16th January 2026.
