“Ghabadkund” – A Grand-Scale Mystery Unfolding on a Magnificent Set!

In life, no matter how hard one works to reach the top, there is always a hidden wish to stumble upon a sudden fortune — to get rich overnight. “Ghabadkund”, an upcoming Marathi film, brings such a story to the big screen — a tale of an unexpected treasure and the people who set out in search of it. The word ‘Ghabad’ refers to sudden wealth, like winning a lottery or a twist of fate, while ‘Kund’ means a deep well or a water reservoir. Together, they form the intriguing title “Ghabadkund”.

What sets this film apart is its spectacular, lavish, and high-budget set, designed to mesmerize audiences when it appears on the big screen.

After the phenomenal success of “Alyad Palyad”, director Pritam S.K. Patil teams up once again with producer Rasik Kadam and co-producer Smita Paigude-Anjute to bring a suspense-thriller packed with action, comedy, and mystery. With its gripping narrative and rich cinematic presentation, “Ghabadkund” promises to be a treat for audiences.

The film’s mysterious plot is filled with fascinating and extraordinary events. Shot on an expansive set built near Khed-Shivapur, Pune, covering 10,000–12,000 sq. ft., it features water ponds, deep wells, ancient temples, caves, and intricate passageways — all designed to create an eerie and suspenseful atmosphere.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Devdatta Nage, Kushal Badrike, Sandeep Pathak, Shashank Shende, Prajakta Hanamghar, Smita Paigude-Anjute, Vaishnavi Kalyankar, Rocky Deshmukh, Aarohi Bhoir, and Sahil Analdevar, ready to deliver power-packed entertainment.

For the first time in Marathi cinema, such an extravagant set has been constructed. The film promises not just suspense, thrill, and comedy, but also the complexity of human relationships. The mistrust and suspicion arising among treasure hunters during their quest will add to the tension and excitement. From its intriguing title to its grand execution, “Ghabadkund” is shaping up to be a big-budget spectacle set to hit screens early next year, aiming to give viewers a true ‘larger-than-life’ cinematic experience.

Director #PritamSKPatil shares, “With Ghabadkund, we want to prove that Marathi cinema can also boast of a grand, majestic canvas. From exceptional set design, music, cinematography, editing, and performances, to high-end computer graphics, every technical aspect has been handled with excellence. I am confident that the film’s story and presentation will win over audiences.”

Producer Rasik Kadam and co-producer Smita Paigude-Anjute add, “No matter how expensive a film is, its real strength lies in its story and how it is told. On that front, we’ve left no stone unturned. Our company, Icon The Style, which has worked across various sectors, is now stepping into the entertainment industry with Ghabadkund, and we are confident that our unique attempt will be welcomed by the audience.”

With special support from Valentina Industries Ltd., Ghabadkund will be released in Marathi, Hindi, and Telugu. The story is written by Sanjay Navgire and Akshay Dharampal, with art direction by Yogesh Ingle, cinematography by Yogesh Koli, and editing by Saumitra Dharashivkar. Akash Jadhav serves as the executive producer, while renowned South Indian action director Karthik has choreographed the film’s stunt sequences. Makeup is by Abhishek, and Siddharth is the production manager.
