Jasnil Kumar, the first crorepati of season 15 of KBC!
Jasnil Kumar’s journey from a humble retail store worker to becoming a ‘Crorepati’ on Kaun Banega Crorepati – Season 15 is a testament to the power of dreams, determination, and destiny. Hailing from the small town of Anwak in Azamgarh, UP, Jasnil embarked on this remarkable journey driven by the innocent wish of his son, who dreamt of a shiny car and said, “Papa, chamchamati gaadi leke aana.”
Jasnil’s extraordinary journey is a heartwarming tale of perseverance and belief in oneself. Mumbai, a city he had only seen in movies, held a special place in his heart. Initially, he hoped to win at least 10 thousand rupees and return home, unaware of the incredible destiny that awaited him.
Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, the iconic host, and an avid cheerleader for the contestant, also lent him his jacket when Jasnil felt cold. In a touching gesture, Mr. Bachchan declared the jacket as a gift, something Jasnil could proudly take back home as a memento of his incredulous journey on KBC. Jasnil’s journey to the hotseat was marked by 11 years of relentless determination. Sitting on the hotseat, his singular wish was to attempt the 7 Crore question, regardless of the outcome. Little did he know that destiny had a thrilling twist in store, as Mr. Bachchan revealed that his answer to the 7 Crore question would have been correct.
Reflecting on his victory as the second Crorepati of the season, Jasnil Kumar humbly said, “I was anxious throughout my journey, hoping and dreaming of reaching the hotseat. My son’s unwavering faith in me gave me the strength to persevere. My dreams are intertwined with my family’s happiness, and I am determined to provide my father the life he envisioned for me. With the support and warmth of Mr. Bachchan, I felt like I was talking to an old friend. With the prize money, I can now lay the foundation for my dreams to come true.
