‘Konichiwa’ From ‘Ek Din’ is certainly teaching the art of saying “hello,”!
Promising a gentle and heartfelt love story, Aamir Khan Productions’ upcoming film #EkDin, starring Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan, is indeed a film that everyone is eagerly waiting for. Its captivating trailer and soulful songs have further heightened the excitement to witness this refreshing love story on the big screen after a long time. Amidst this, the recently released Konichiwa song from the film is certainly teaching the art of saying “hello,” while we once learned the art of saying “bye” with the Sayonara Sayonara song from Love in Tokyo.
The Konichiwa song from Ek Din is a track that comes to teach us the art of saying “hello.” The word “Konichiwa” from the Japanese vocabulary stands for “hello,” and it has been fondly used in the song. However, it has been more than five decades since Sayonara Sayonara from Love in Tokyo (1966) taught us the art of saying “bye,” a word also picked from Japanese vocabulary.
After a long time, a song has come along that conveys the beauty of saying “hello” in a different language. Lively and fun, the Konichiwa song is beautifully picturised in the mesmerising landscapes of Japan, and it blends seamlessly with the film’s emotional essence, creating an instant connection with the audience. The song reflects the true meaning of “hello”, one that leads to a new beginning.
Ek Din reunites Aamir Khan with filmmaker Mansoor Khan after a significant hiatus, reviving one of Hindi cinema’s most cherished creative partnerships. Together, they have gifted audiences unforgettable films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Akele Hum Akele Tum, and Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. With Ek Din, the duo returns to the romance genre, sparking fresh excitement among fans. Their coming together once again has heightened curiosity, with audiences keen to witness the charm they recreate on screen.
Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Ek Din stars Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan. The film is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan, Mansoor Khan, and Aparna Purohit. The film is set to release in theaters on 1st May 2026.’
