‘Ladki Vihin Yojana’ Brings A New Wave of Laughter on Marathi Stage!

Bringing a fresh wave of laughter to Marathi theatre, ‘Ladki Vihin Yojana’ marks the return of renowned actress #NirmiteeSawant to her theatrical roots.

While government schemes are meant for public welfare, this “Yojana” is designed purely to touch the hearts of audiences. Popular actress Nirmitee Sawant presents ‘Ladki Vihin Yojana’, a special entertainment package for Marathi theatre lovers. The sole objective of this scheme is to spread abundant laughter, lighten hearts, and provide relief from everyday stress through wholesome entertainment.

Produced by #Ashtavinayak and Panchsheel Entertainment, the play is written by Prathamesh Shivalkar and directed by #RajeshDeshpande. It will soon be staged for audiences.

Though the title includes the word “Yojana,” there are no paperwork formalities or terms and conditions involved—only crisp humor, witty dialogues, and a lively portrayal of everyday Marathi life. The play humorously comments on family realities in a light-hearted manner and promises to keep audiences thoroughly entertained. The team clarified during a recent press conference that this is not a government scheme, but purely an entertainment initiative for theatre lovers.

Actor Prasad Oak expressed his happiness about collaborating with producer Dilip Jadhav of Ashtavinayak. He mentioned that he had earlier conveyed his desire to direct and produce a play, and Mr. Jadhav had assured him of an opportunity at the right time. Through ‘Ladki Vihin Yojana’, that promise has been fulfilled. He expressed confidence that the play will bring immense joy to audiences.

Actor Swapnil Joshi shared that it is a proud and satisfying moment to be associated with this production as a co-producer. He stated that the name Ashtavinayak is synonymous with quality and excellence, and Panchsheel Entertainment is delighted to collaborate with them for this project.

Producer Dilip Jadhav stated that he is always on the lookout for strong scripts that not only run but truly work on stage. He found this script powerful and believes that the play will easily surpass 150 shows.

Writer Prathamesh Shivalkar expressed his excitement, saying that working with such accomplished personalities for his first commercial play is a truly special moment for him.

Director Rajesh Deshpande humorously remarked that while people are familiar with government schemes, this one is “Sawant’s scheme” meant only to make audiences laugh. He also appreciated the strong support system behind the play.

Nirmitee Sawant emotionally shared that theatre is like her maternal home. Due to her busy film schedule, she had been away from stage performances for some time. She expressed joy at returning to theatre with this play. She mentioned her long-standing association with Ashtavinayak and stated that this collaboration, along with talented actors like Prasad Oak and Swapnil Joshi, will surely make ‘Ladki Vihin Yojana’ a delightful experience for audiences.

Saturday, 7 March – 4:00 PM – Yashwant Natya Mandir, Matunga

Sunday, 8 March – 1:00 PM – Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Kothrud

Along with Nirmitee Sawant, the cast includes Sneha Raikar, Purnima Ahire-Kende, Adhokshaj Karhade, Sunil Jadhav, and Mukesh Jadhav.

The producers of the play are Dilip Jadhav and Prasad Oak, with co-producers Swapnil Joshi, Manjiri Oak, Trupti Patil, and Sanjay Memane.

Set design is by Pradeep Mulye, music by Ajit Parab, lighting design by Sunil Jadhav, lyrics by Kshitij Patwardhan, vocals by Radhika Bhide, costumes by Purnima Oak, makeup by Madan Gaikwad, and anchoring by Pranit Bodke.
